Come join me! Ride with me via the avenue of this song to a perhaps long forgotten youthful paradise of pure innocence, heart-to-heart communication, empathetic understanding, noble motives and aspirations, honourable soulful commitments, transparent interactions, effervescent charm, invigorating hope and the blessed integrity of wholesome renewal. Given the current dismal and overwhelmingly gloomy state of the world over, don't we need it as much as ever, besides the essential vaccines and its associated preventative measures? I feel I am in desperate need of it, even if it proves naïve and unviable in the end. At the very least, it is a harmless source of escapist delight and solace.
I've always been drawn to the sturdy wild beauty of sunflowers. It's indeed one of my favourite type of flowers, symbolising indomitable brightness, incisive intelligence, adaptability and versatility; ongoing vivacity, energy and spirit, not to mention blossoming kindness, great fortitude and glorious resilience. I am hoping to embody all such attributes and qualities.
There are reasons for the undying popularity of 陳百強 Danny CHAN Bak-keung. It's been almost twenty-eight years since his passing on Monday, 25 October 1993 at the age of thirty-five. Yet, his songs and artistry live on and on and on. It's not that hard to understand why. True substance and quality cannot be denied, negated or dismissed. True artistry doesn't pale into insignificance. It's like trying to deny the existence of the sun and the moon. It has a way of rightfully reasserting its stand and place. Such is the talent of one of my idols: Mr. 陳百強 Danny CHAN Bak-keung. Danny, rest in peace!
Need I harp on the heart-sizzling and soul-enhancing beauty of both the vocal and instrumental arrangements? Beautiful simplicity of the highest order! Divine! The essence of the lyrics is brought forth with complete sparkling aptness, enchanting clarity and an infectious poetic liveliness that ONLY 陳百強 Danny CHAN Bak-keung is able to deliver. I've heard several covers. I don't even care to comment. I don't want to be offensive.

Dear Liong Rose, Well, well well: Danny had for the most part of his career, consistently produced quality hit after hit, spanning nearly an entire decade of such unforgettable delivery. Sadly, I detected a waning of artistic sensitivity and inspiration from the 1990 onwards. A truly great and one of the loveliest artists from Hong Kong of the 1970s to 1980s. Bests, Chiki CHAN. @@chikichan31 Danny suffered from mild depression and was admitted to hospital for treatment coz of anxiety in 1985. The depression got more serious in d late 80s...( Info from Internet)
Dear Liong Rose, Yes, everyone knew he was suffering from depression, even a little before 1985. His manager and his family managed to persuade the press and the media to downplay the seriousness of it. In other words, the depth of his depression was a lot more serious than was reported. Yet, he managed to bounced back for a while to record several interesting and worthwhile albums, after which, his depression returned and spiralled out of control. Some two or three years later, it culminated in his addiction to a few forms of medication, one of which some say he deliberately mixed with alcohol in a suicide attempt. Some say it was accidental. No one is really certain. What seems certain to many was that his personal gay relationships were in turmoil. That much for certain: he was gay. He felt alone in the world, unable to find his true love. This factor, coupled with his latest albums not selling well from 1990 onwards precipitated a greater and greater depression, which had claimed his life all too soon.
