I wonder what happens when a CEC store gets a notice saying it's time for their 2.0 remodel. Can they choose to not remodel or are they forced to remodel?
I believe it's up to the manager for if they want the remodel or not. Most locations would still get the remodel though considering how hard the animatronics are to upkeep.
What happens to all of them. Destroyed and thrown away, and usually are never salvaged. Chuck e cheese knows the community is mad and is trying to get a hold of the animatronics. That's why the characters are the first to go that way it's less likely for the characters to be retrieved
@@racestephenson4405 I'm at a loss of words of how terrible and depressing that is. What they did is a huge disrespect towards the Rock afire Explosion animatronic creations by Aaron Fechter and as well the 3-stage creations of CEC. This is a really sad successor to Concept Unification.
@retrofan4963 yeah, it sucks. And Also, controversial opinion on my part. But These characters could be living on today, if Aaron would've just signed the contract to his characters. And yes it sucks, and honestly while its a shame, chuck e cheese is a thing of the past now. At this point they don't even exist. Once the last of the 2.0s is done, I myself will not be referring to the establishment as opened or, still in operation. They are in chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it is just a slippery slope from here. Chuck e cheese will very soon be out of buisness. And it's closer than we think.
@@racestephenson4405 Rock afire Explosion would still be living on in Showbiz if Aaron did sold the rights. The sacrifice of course would be that Creative Engineering would no longer work on the shows and instead Showbiz Pizza company would handle the whole thing like what they did with Munch's Make Believe Band shows. And judging by the Munch's Make Believe Band shows throughout the 90's and afterwards, I imagine it would turn out inferior compared to Creative Engineering shows of the Rock afire Explosion. Although, I am curious what Rock afire Explosion would've been like if Aaron sold the rights and Showbiz/CEC handles the shows. Sounds like an interesting thing to see in some sort of alternative timeline. Anyway, it's always really cool to hear from someone else about this subject so thanks for your response :) About the bankruptcy of Chuck E Cheese, uh yeah, I do agree there's no denying CEC going out of business most likely will happen. CEC experiences bankruptcy before numerous times, one of the critical ones it only survived because Showbiz Pizza saved it. Who knows how they'll survive this one. I'm afraid it seems grim in that case in a near future. I recently watched a video about Chuck E Cheese will most likely go out of business in 5 years, with good points of why. I'll be honest, knowing how much revenue they lost during the pandemic, I'm pretty surprised it's still in business, which I'm not complaining. But oof, you're right. It's sooner than we think what'll happen in the near future for CEC. Only time will tell overall.

They are in so much debt that no one will biy the rights to chuck e cheese, however on the contrary, it would be possible for someone to buy the rights to only use the name. And maybe at least the name of chuck e cheese will still live on. But. No matter what happens, the spirit of how we felt as kids visiting while live on in our hearts. As they say. All good things must come to an end. The memories and experiences we share will always be legendary. No matter how bad they fuck up the company. Chuck e cheese will always be remembered as the fun quirky way they used to be. Unfortunately at this point, while I hate the 2.0s, it's like watching a train wreck. You just can't seem to peel your eyes away from the mess that's being made. Well have to see what they decide to do after they realize how stupid of an idea the dance floor is.
Well my childhood location was a former spp, and usually the stage is directly to the back wall, and is usually visible when you enter the store. That's a thing of the past now
