behold! the (arguably better) sequel to AFFECTION//INFECTION!!! er... not exactly sequel? maybe sidequel? it's the same story from the other POV.
the character in this video is named Nettle (they/them). originally it was gonna be that this story takes place in the Magnus Archives universe (yes, the evil fungus is literal) but idk anymore, I kinda wanna believe Nettle has a chance of getting better but in the TMA universe there is very much a point of no return when it comes to becoming a supernatural monster and Nettle has very much crossed it.
i'm gonna be real Maggie and Nettle's story is strongly based on a real experience i had and I ended up reconnecting with the person Nettle is based on. we both grew a lot as people and she's cool now. that being said, nothing excuses her actions and I don't think I'll ever fully forgive her and I'm fine with that. that's what I tried to portray in Nettle. sympathetic but inexcusable. unforgivable but not irredeemable. this is meant to be a nuanced depiction of emotional abuse and the sort of feelings and thought processes that lead to it as well as its effects, and idk if I captured that right but I tried. anyway, I've kept you long enough. lyrics time!!!

woah this is so very good! i think you did a great job of showing the nuanced perspective and i really love the little riff that repeats between some of the lyrical sections! its so nice, and i love the way the vibes of it shift over the course of the song! like at first its sweet and refreshing and then eventually becomes kind of creepy. and need i say anything about the visuals? theyre absolutely perfect for the song! 100/10 sidequel ::DDD
