Hi. Can I ask if you’ve found a work around to keeping the trains running when the app closes? This is a massive deciding factor in the purchase of the HM6000. Hornby’s tutorial video on RUclips shows you can change the settings in App Settings > App Inactivity > Pause and Resume OR Disable. Have you tried this to see what it does?
Hi, sadly no I haven't found a proper workaround for this. The only half-workable workaround I've found is to disable my phone's automatic screen lock so that the trains don't stop when the screen times out. The App Inactivity setting didn't seem to work for me either. It's come to a stage where I use the HM6000 only about 25% of the time, purely because something as simple as a phone call coming through, or trying to reply to a WhatsApp message is enough for all trains to stop.
@@ashraaqwahab Thanks for your quick reply. It’s a shame there’s no way to disable this to continue the trains from running. It seems a little silly as ultimately the transformer is what powers the HM6000 which provides the command to the trains. The HMDC app is able to change the signal to the HM6000 so an app update should be made to fix this issue which I doubt Hornby will look into.
@@ashraaqwahab hi mate. I’ve now got the HM6000 and I can confirm that the settings I have mentioned above allow the trains to continue to run without the app being left open. I contacted Hornby on two occasions and spoke with the tech support. The first person mentioned that it wouldn’t work but the second said it would. I leave the app open but just minimise it so I can run other tasks on my phone. If it helps, I’m using an iPhone on the most up to date software and the HM6000 is also on the latest software. Just select “Disable” on the “App Inactivity” settings.
@@Junique3 That's nice. I'll give it a try on my Android phone again and see if I have any luck. The operating system is on the latest version, but I need to check about my HM6000's software.
Congratulations on the acquisition! Nice video and nice shirt too 😁
Haha, thanks! A very useful shirt to wear around the house :P
