You have to be very cautious at who you read. There are too many authors who don't actually write about Christianity. But your attitude sounds very limiting. You have missed some good material.
There are other Christian books out there that aren't the self-help variety that I don't think were mentioned. My favourites were "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti, a fictional story but highlights the spiritual realities that surround us without our knowledge. Also, back in the 80s - 90s, I really liked reading books on Bible prophecy, Grant Jeffery was a good author in that genre.
Thanks you so much for this faith! I’m still a teenager and I often look at “Christian” books and studies and really wonder if they’ve somehow missed Christ because it’s just so self-help centered. I often wonder if I’m the only one who has a problem with our shallow songs and books but your channel reminds me their are others looking for more.
Well, if you want something challenging. Stick to John Owen, John Bunyan, Jonathon Edwards, Thomas Brooks, Matthew Mead, Spurgeon... You're right; who wants to wade around in the shallows when you can jump in at the deep end in seeking Christ! God bless!
Thank you for taking the time to do this so we don't waste time on things not worth our time 😬 Currently reading Jen Wilkins Women of the Word while simultaneously reading the Bible from the beginning for the first time. It's been a game changer. Love Jen Wilkins, I also read her book In His Image. Lovely as well.
I sooooo appreciate your genuine book reviews. I’ve been frustrated at RUclipsrs who review all books at 5/5 so no one is upset that there were aspects of popular books they didn’t like.
I completely agree with you. Because of the hype, I read Mothers and Daughters of the Bible and found it ridiculously mundane. I also read another book by Lysa Terkuest and was shocked at how little faith was in it vs. working thru her own issues. Seemed more like a therapy session. It's all watered down, feel good Christianity.
Lysa Terkeuest has very little discernment when it comes to Christian living. Most of her books are like a therapy session because it seems that’s where she gets most of her material for her books. Very little from the Word itself.
Ty for this video! Personally, I wouldn't have picked up these books. I'm extremely wary of Lysa and Shauna's beliefs as they are not rooted in Scripture. But your review was enjoyable to listen to and I'm so happy you encourage Christians to think critically about what they're consuming. Some things under the guise of "Christian" are just secular thinking in sheep's clothing. We don't need to be a part of the blind leading the blind when we have the light of God's Word to guide us.
Thank you for doing this video!! I love that you're showing and teaching how to be critical when reading others books especially when its labeled as "Christian". It's so easy to get turned away from Scripture and believe something that's not biblical. 💙💙💙
Lysa’s book Good Boundaries and Goodbyes probably saved my life last year from a very abusive “Christian” husband. I liked your points about God and boundaries but I think overall she handled it really well in the book. God doesn’t want wives to be abused mercilessly by their husbands and keep forgiving, that’s a distortion of the message of the cross to give us freedom from sin and bondage. I pray this helps someone ❤
The book that blew my mind (it actually helped "renew my mind") in the last year was "Openness Unhindered" by Rosaria Butterfield. I found it contains solid critical thoughts that were cited (scholarly -- the author is one which helps). I agree with your thoughts on these books. I prefer books with more 'meat' in them else I'll spiritually 'starve'. I'm enjoying your channel :)
Thank you so much, Faith!! I write book reviews of Christian books on a devotional magazine, and how you read books with principles helped me how I personally can read books and how I can write reviews too! You are such a blessing ❤
I enjoyed your video quit a bit! I also struggle with Christian books bc they do have a shallowness to them. But these videos are also hard bc if I don’t agree with Calvinist view, or visa versa, a lot of time they turn into bashing. And while you brought up your theology outlook you don’t seem to have the typical “your are lesser” than attitude! I love that so much! When I begin looking for for book recommendations on RUclips in this category I had no idea the rabbit hole that can consume people. This was refreshing and I look forward to checking out more of your videos!!
Love this video. Currently I am participating in a discipleship group. Between scripture reading and assigned books to read and discuss I don't have much time for other readings.
Thank you for saving me time and money! I feel like many of the books in the Christian living section are self-help, thin and/or bad theology, and not good for me! I so appreciate you, Faith!🙏❤️💕
Oh my Faith, I am really enjoying following you. I’m quite a new follower. You are such a breath of fresh air :). I don’t want to put labels on denominations but it’s easier to for this context - I was saved in a very Pentecostal and charismatic church, left and then ended up in a Calvinist reformed church. I went from one extreme of Christianity to the other and I have had such a hard time trying to find a balance. Now I’m taking a step back and trying to figure out my faith and as a masters student, aspiring to study a pdh, I do like to read and study so I’m often reading or craving information from others. I feel like you are such a BALANCED inspiration for me. I love what you talk about. You share similar interest and concern. You are very polite and thoughtful of what you say, you are honest but not harsh. You set a great example to follow. I love what you said about boundaries with Lysa’s book!
Thank you so much for this Faith! I’m watching this about a year after you posted this. Hoping you do one for 2023. I came out of the WOF/Law of attraction about 6 years ago. I so appreciate your honesty on these books. I found coming out of false teaching I was starving for good theology and sound doctrine. I had to learn to pray all over again and am still learning. I’m continuing to study Gods word in a new way than before. Thank you for your ministry!
This is the first video I’ve watched of you and I lived it. Thanks! My book probably wouldn’t have measured up either but we’re all growing and my next one will hopefully be better ❤️
So glad I found your channel! I appreciate your critique on books and watched your recommendations for worthwhile books to read. Thank you for bringing a Christian perspective on popular books and giving direction to those of us who don’t want to waste time.😊
LOVED this video! So fun to hear your take on these books. When you mentioned setting boundaries during the comments on the second book, it made me very curious about your thoughts on the book Boundaries (by Cloud & Townsend). I noticed it on your shelf during your book tour (which I totally loved by the way!). THANK YOU SO MUCH for your love and adherence to the authority of Scripture as our foundation! ❤️ Learning so much from you...blessings!
I read a lot. And I haven’t read any of those. Oftentimes the most popular are just the most advertised. I want real books that teach me about God. Thank you for this video. I’d love a series of it.
You just saved me time on reading this! Idk everyone but I'd love to see more "debunking" popular Christian authors/books. Any recommendations on books to help grow your faith and in our walk with God? Other than the bible of course 😉
Faith, you rock. Happy Friday 🥰 These are some of my favorite videos of yours. Love your honesty on the books and happy you kept pushing through and put the video out. Cheers!
one of the best Christian books I've ever read is Promises in the Dark, Walking with Those in Need Without Losing Heart by Eric McLaughlin... a short and powerful and very theologically sound book!!
I feel like this is bubblegum pop versus one of Mozart’s symphonies. Both are music and you can dance to them, but one has depth and nuance and stands the test of time and one will be unheard of in 5 years, except for maybe a car commercial. I had to stop reading Christian living books because I truly felt like I was wasting my time. I will stick to the scriptures and the tested commentaries.
Please, Please, Please watch The Chosen and do a video on your perspective. I just recently happened upon your channel and have been fascinated by your view and passion.
I read Breem's previous book, "Women of the Bible Speak," when it came out, and I enjoyed it. I felt like it brought some of the people in the Bible to life for me, and I found myself relating to them. Back then, I didn't own a commentary set of my own, and I still don't really care for footnoting my Bible notes with scholarly footnotes, so it doesn't bother me at all that she didn't footnote her cross-references. I mean, I've owned several bibles that cross-reference OT and NT verses, and I've always considered that common knowledge and public domain. She's well versed in the Bible and absolutely could have made that same realization herself without some man having written it before. So yeah, it's not a scholarly work, but she never claimed it is. It's a light read for women who, like me at the time, would like some Biblical Christian living application, not a dry commentary.
Okay, so after hearing your review of Faulkner's book, I kind of see the disconnect here. You looked up the four best-selling books in a category, but that doesn't tell much of the story of why the books are popular. Most books that I've ordered and read in the last year are written by people who maybe have a RUclips channel or a blog. It just makes sense that a blogger isn't going to have the reach of someone who is literally on TV five days a week. Like, my FIL watches Faulkner's show every weekday. These books are also very often given as gifts. So, my husband knows that I like Faulkner and I enjoy books about Christian living, so he might buy it for me for Mother's Day because he noticed me looking at it while we were in line at Hobby Lobby or something. It's basically on the level of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and both of those FN books are easy to grab in line while buying journaling supplies and listening to instrumental praise. It says more about marketing than what people really want to read. I'm not saying I can think of a better way to judge what Christian women are reading, maybe looking at reviews on ChristianBook, or maybe sticking to the actual Bible Study category. I'd be interested to hear what you think about Mama Bear Apologetics.
Thank you for wasting your time for us! I usually don’t want to spend time reading other books, bc I want more time to read my Bible. This confirms that what’s popular isn’t necessarily good.
Thank you for this. I spend much of my reading time with Christian books, and it’s difficult to find those that are actually making me grow and think and do more research.
you are awesome. I loved your thorough analysis of these books for someone who is still immature in their walk or don't have any good Christian leaders in their life to understand that NOT everything in the Christian category of books is ACTUALLY going to be of Christ or helpful to their spiritual growth.
Faith, your judgment of the last book (the one with the cool font) is the same judgment I had regarding the book. Just thought that was funny! Plus, the title definitely gives a sense of subjectivism / liberal / new age ideology.
Enjoying your videos and wondering what denomination you are. Do you have a video with more information on the seminary you attend, your faith etc. Thank you for all the great videos
I always throw the paper away, too. I dislike the silly paper covers. Yes, they are pretty, but they always get torn and get in the way when trying to read the book. I used to try and keep them for after I read the book, but they would always get lost or destroyed.
This video was so good!!!!! You made SOOO many good points, and left me thinking about everything I read, watch, listen to. Which I know is always your point. But I fall flat sometimes, and I need to get better about that. I love when you do these types of videos. Please keep them coming. Lol
Hey, I totally relate. These videos are for me too. I don’t like what I say in them a lot of the time because it makes me realize some of my favorite songs, books, etc maybe I should re-evaluate. We are all learning together!
Oh thank you so much, I love your approach to the book reviews. I am super careful what I read, because there's already too much non Godly things in front of me everyday, no need to willingly read something doesn't enhance my walk with Jesus.
It doesn’t bother me to take the dust jacket off the book when I’m reading it, but I would never throw it away. When I put that bad boy on the shelf, I want that dust jacket in place.
I'm not a massive reader in the first place, I find it quite exhausting to have to read (even with reading inside my head). I even struggle to consistently read the Bible. I have my ups, where I'm reading a lot in one week. Then, other weeks I struggle to have that discipline 😭. I definitely am grateful that I can listen to the Bible on audio; it's a godsend. I love people reading things back to me, especially a mans voice, as it is a glimpse into feeling like if it was, Jesus, reading to me 🥰. I have always been cautious in what Christian literature I should read. But, this year I have wanted to buy four Christian books and a couple of non-Christian books. I want to be more intentional about reading.
Books that make the Christian best-seller lists are pretty much always going to be fluff-and-feel-good-coffee-table fodder. Profound Biblical wisdom doesn't typically come to us from that genre of books. Thank you for the reviews. I found it helpful, especially on the Terkuerst book. I ordered a Bible Study book by her that's en route, 30 Days with Jesus. When I get it, I'll see about setting up a camera for a review.
You did such an excellent job here. You seem to understand the requirements of book review. Your scholarship as apparent. This has been my experience as well.
Thank you so much Faith! I would agree with you that most of the Christian living books do not have Christianity per se in them, and they do come off as very new-age/secular self-help genre. That can be dangerous as a Christian and your principles are very well worth writing down whenever we open up one of these books. I have these books on my shelf, i.e. Christian living books, and I probably would take out of them a few points which, as you say, can be summarised in probably one page. Shannas book Cold tangerines was a fun summer read with short stories like literally wanted to pages per story, and that was interesting. But when I get theology from it? Doubt it! Thank you for your time in doing this and reading the books because now we don’t have to!
I would love love love a video about the general layout of writers/pastors/speakers and their background. Such as Lysa and Elevation church. What are the big denominations and what do they believe and who are their big representatives? It’s so important to know yet impossible to learn by googling.
I really loved this video. I am a big reader, and my husband is always asking me who I am reading, and then he's looking up that person to see who they are and what they believe in. He is always checking on me and the decernment I have when I read some of the books I have. Feel like you over half of what I read isn't always very biblical or Christ focused. But, sometimes their is that little pice found that makes sense in a book even when the rest doesn't make sense. I really enjoyed this video, and I would love to see more of what other kinds of books and authors you read. I am currently reading the 5 love languages for kids, plus the one on autistic kids. I am also reading No Little Women, by Aimee Byrd Again, thank you for this video
Good video! I'm very busy with bible studies and just fully diving into the word. I'm glad I'm not missing much 😂. Our ladies ministry is working through Blackaby's revised Experiencing God study right now. We have grown so much in our relationship with Christ and with each other. If you ever have time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this study. 🥰
Great video! Love how you read Christian books critically. Recently I read a couple Max Lucado books. I thought they were fine but nothing I was over the moon for.
I love Christian Historical Fiction. And other genres. But I only read these when I go to bed. Bible study and Devotionals are in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon.
I absolutely remove the paper cover! However, I can't dog ear the pages. I use sticky notes; it marks the page and gives me a place to write my thoughts about it.
I am at the point where I’m thousands of dollars in on my library and I no longer consider buying books unless a trusted source recommends it. Christianity Today, bestseller lists, etc are definitely not sources I trust. Honestly, as an older, conservative, man I also don’t often watch content made by women but this is one of several videos you’ve made that I’ve watched and enjoyed.
I have and read I Haven't Learned That Yet - one of hte reviews made me look her up because they were critical of her father. I think the title did it for me LOL! I enjoyed reading it - but can't say I got anything out of it. Lysa's I haven't read - I've read several of hers and get caught up in them but they all seem the same - either apologizing for suspecting her husband of cheating, breaking up with him for cheating, God and counseling, then divorce finally. I just want to take my 56 year old jaded 'wisdom' and tell her to run for the hills!
I recently read Jinger Duggar Vuolo's book BEcoming Free Indeed- it wasn't what I expected - the pastor who writes it with her I could definitely tell when he was doing the speaking instead of her. but it was interesting - just not sure worth the price. I read it on kindle but was still a little pricey.
I recommend the book Church of Cowards by Matt Walsh. You know it's not going to be a shallow read when the first chapter is titled Christians Not Worth Killing. I intend to reread this book every year.
This is the first video I've watched from you and really enjoyed it! Discernment is SO important!!! It would be fun if you did some reviews on Christian books from young unknown authors. I have a couple friends who have written some books on abortion and Biblical encouragement for young godly women.
I would LOVE for you to read Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands by Paul David Tripp and share your thoughts on it. By far, the most impactful book on my Christian life outside of the the Bible. :-) Thank you for your reviews! It's rare to see someone that really cares and theology... And MEAT. I want to GROW. LoL let's get off the milk already!
Thank you for your reviews. I am a fan of Lois Tvernerg and believe her influence has allowed me to seek more of the same types of works. Psalms 42:1 It is as my eyes have finally opened and I can see and hear the word of G-d.
Hi Faith! Thank you for this video. I love books, so I really was looking forward to this for recommendations. Sadly, none seemed to be great lol (love an honest review!). Any suggestions on theologically sound books that you have read in the past and love? Would love to hear about any classic theological books you love as well!
Thank you for reading them. Now I won't be tempted to do so. I'm just not into several branches of current Christian culture anyway. You didn't sound mean. You just said your true opinion in light of Scripture.
I've finally made a list of the top 180 books and so here is my Christian book list. CHRISTIAN BOOKS: 0) "The Holy Bible: King James Version" copyright 1967 2) "Resurrection" by Leo Tolstoy 6) The Chronicles of Narnia - series by C. S. Lewis 29) "Mere Christianity" by C. S. Lewis 35) "Les Misérables" by Victor Hugo 72) "Treasures of the Snow" by Patricia St. John 74) "A Confession" by Leo Tolstoy 75) "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens 76) "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen 118) "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel 159) "Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life" by C.S. Lewis 165) "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan 173) "The End of Reason: A Response to the New Atheists" by Ravi Zacharias The Narnia books have an order and the top two would still beat "War and Peace" which is in the top ten books I've ever read. 1) The Magician's Nephew 2) The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe 3) The Horse and His Boy 4) The Last Battle 5) The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 6) Prince Caspian 7) The Silver Chair
I don't think "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen is a good philosophy, but as it is written or built per Bible passages it is a Christian book in the sense it can't exist and its' focus is nothing if not Christian topics and thus a Christian book. At the same time the philosophy is worthless from the book. "Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life" by C.S. Lewis has topics some who are saved might dislike to read from him, but it is him being truthful to how he felt about things at the time and is reality in terms of some bad things in society.
These are the four books out of 50 which I want to read which are Christian books. 1) “The Pursuit of God: The Human Thirst for the Divine” by A. W. Tozer 2) “The Path of Prayer” by Samuel Chadwick 3) "The Pentateuch as Narrative: A Biblical-Theological Commentary” by John H. Sailhamer 4) “David: A Man After God's Own Heart” by J. Vernon McGee I guess I should add that I do love J. Vernon McGee's "Thru The Bible Commentary" (six books) and his books on favorite sermons or characters from the Bible, but I guess I don't see a written sermon or dialogue related to passages of the Bible as a Christian book and so I never put those into my list of favorite books.
I don’t know if you listen to audiobooks, but you 1000% HAVE to listen to the audiobook version of “The Postmodern Pilgrim’s Progress” brought to you by the guys at Babylon Bee!!! You will so love it, and the audiobook version is absolutely stellar! 👍🏼⭐️🙌🏻❤️🔥
I don’t know where you got that list, but I know better books came out in 2022 (although, I’m drawing a blank right now as to titles! 🤦🏼. Showing my age! ). But, I do appreciate your thoughts on these books because so many read these books because they are on the list and do not know how to discern what might be a bit from the truth.
🎉EXCELLENT video!! 🎉. Excellent principle and life take away---is what we are reading “Christian” Jesus/Gospel theology? or is it merely self help masquerading as Christian. They are capitalizing on labeling things as Christian. recently I’ve started limiting which publishers I purchase from -this helps weed out the ick.
Here is a positive take to you "waste of time" comment: these books caused you to stretch and exercise your critical thinking, and understanding of Biblical truth. I sometimes listen to people that i know are ify just to see if anything has changed, to check my own understanding, and to see if i can argue the points made biblically. I dont think you wasted your time. You were able to practice discernment which just caused your faith roots to grow deeper and become more secure. Lisa Turkist (sorry for the botched spelling!) Is out of Elevation Church with Steven Furtick. So that should give you a better understanding of her background. I personally shy away from "popular" Christian reading because it tends to be too feel good. I like the more acedemic reads that make me chew on things for a while.
Hi Faith.. Who are your favorite authors of Christian Books?? Thank you for the honest reviews of the four books..I need to have meat in my books..Max Lucado his books are most alike, but how he writes, he always moves me, yes, I dog-ear my books for future notes.. Great seeing your video again..🙏🙏
Thank you for this Video Faith. I would Love it if you made a video of book recommendations, I’ve been reading and studying my Bible more and would love an updated list of Christian book recommendations to help me along. Thank you
As someone who is writing a Christian book, this video was super helpful to ask myself those questions about my own writing!
I don’t read Christian living. I only have time to read scripture and commentary at this season of my life. Sounds like I’m not missing much.
You have to be very cautious at who you read. There are too many authors who don't actually write about Christianity. But your attitude sounds very limiting. You have missed some good material.

RC Sproul , Charles spurgeon, smith wiggles worth ! Some of my favorite literature authors !!!! You should check them out

My husband and I did the same swinging from one extreme to the other in churches. We really like our current ELCA church.

Love your channel....fairly new...Bible obsessed for years and now know that I am not alone
please do more of these
and teach me how to be critical 🙃
This was a really good video and I highly encourage you to do this more often. Thank you . 🙂🌺
You just saved me time on reading this! Idk everyone but I'd love to see more "debunking" popular Christian authors/books. Any recommendations on books to help grow your faith and in our walk with God? Other than the bible of course 😉
Stumbled across your channel and this is the content I need!
I SO appreciate you saving me the time I would’ve wasted. I completely agree books need to challenge us to think critically. Thank you!
haha! I totally toss the covers! and dog ear pages! love your channel, thank you

Both are music and you can dance to them, but one has depth and nuance and stands the test of time and one will be unheard of in 5 years, except for maybe a car commercial. I had to stop reading Christian living books because I truly felt like I was wasting my time. I will stick to the scriptures and the tested commentaries.
I’m with you. I wouldn’t throw away just the paper book covers but also what’s inside the book cover. All 4!
I really missed your book reviews!!
I always throw the paper away, too. I dislike the silly paper covers. Yes, they are pretty, but they always get torn and get in the way when trying to read the book. I used to try and keep them for after I read the book, but they would always get lost or destroyed.
Great content Faith! My favorite Christian read of last year was Tim Keller's Forgive book.
Thanks for the rec. My library it seems has lots of his books. Put one on hold.
Wonderful video! I'm gonna need a downloadable PDF of the points in this video for future reference. Lol. 😆
I think a lot of new age / new thought has sprinkled into the Christian Living genre.
What about a review of Christian living that are good? I want to see top books in a few categories...
What a cool way to do book reviews! Thank you!
I am also reading No Little Women,
by Aimee Byrd
Again, thank you for this video
Thank you for the video you do a great job with your videos. I enjoy watching them
Thank you! God bless you and your family!!! Try reading Kevin Zadai books ❤️🙏
I like the sticky notes idea!
Oooooh you throw the paper part away? 😮 I am processing this info 😂
Love when you do book reviews!
I, too, usually throw the dust cover away. 😊
Thank you for your honesty, your videos are so wonderful.
Love finding Christian books to read.
God of All Things has been so very insightful!!
I can’t read a book with its jacket on, but I also can’t throw them out! I envy your freedom. 😂 Great stuff.
Thank you so much, Faith. So helpful. Would Love for you to do a review on “Jude” by Jackie Hill Perry.
Great reviews! Thanks for the video much needed and appreciated
i like reading classic literature more than modern stuff, but I do read some modern books too
I recommend the book Church of Cowards by Matt Walsh.
I have a couple friends who have written some books on abortion and Biblical encouragement for young godly women.
great review…I love to read but have found these last two years I just need the Bible,it’s my go to now!
I would LOVE for you to read Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands by Paul David Tripp and share your thoughts on it. By far, the most impactful book on my Christian life outside of the the Bible. :-)
Thank you for your reviews! It's rare to see someone that really cares and theology... And MEAT. I want to GROW. LoL let's get off the milk already!
I love these videos! I also appreciate you doing Good Boundaries and Goodbyes. I’m half way through this one currently.
What you think about it? I’m considering reading it as I might be getting divorced.
Thank you for your reviews.
I am a fan of Lois Tvernerg and believe her influence has allowed me to seek more of the same types of works.
Psalms 42:1
It is as my eyes have finally opened and I can see and hear the word of G-d.
Hi Faith! Thank you for this video. I love books, so I really was looking forward to this for recommendations. Sadly, none seemed to be great lol (love an honest review!). Any suggestions on theologically sound books that you have read in the past and love? Would love to hear about any classic theological books you love as well!
Yes! I linked a few that I mention a lot in my videos in the description
@@HowtoFaithALife thanks so much!
Thank you for reading them. Now I won't be tempted to do so. I'm just not into several branches of current Christian culture anyway. You didn't sound mean. You just said your true opinion in light of Scripture.
I would love to see more book reviews from you.
Just watching your videos and in the UK so should really be asleep now but... I'll just watch one more...
100% Agreed!
This is Spiritual warfare in media. This is why I am writing a book series about getting into a relationship with Jesus and our God.
❤❤❤love these reviews❤❤❤
You are fantastic
I've finally made a list of the top 180 books and so here is my Christian book list.
CHRISTIAN BOOKS:
0) "The Holy Bible: King James Version" copyright 1967
2) "Resurrection" by Leo Tolstoy
6) The Chronicles of Narnia - series by C. S. Lewis
29) "Mere Christianity" by C. S. Lewis
35) "Les Misérables" by Victor Hugo
72) "Treasures of the Snow" by Patricia St. John
74) "A Confession" by Leo Tolstoy
75) "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens
76) "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen
118) "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel
159) "Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life" by C.S. Lewis
165) "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan
173) "The End of Reason: A Response to the New Atheists" by Ravi Zacharias
The Narnia books have an order and the top two would still beat "War and Peace" which is in the top ten books I've ever read.
1) The Magician's Nephew
2) The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
3) The Horse and His Boy
4) The Last Battle
5) The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6) Prince Caspian
7) The Silver Chair
W. Tozer
2) “The Path of Prayer” by Samuel Chadwick
3) "The Pentateuch as Narrative: A Biblical-Theological Commentary” by John H. Sailhamer
4) “David: A Man After God's Own Heart” by J. Vernon McGee
I guess I should add that I do love J.
Have you done a video on recommended books? I’d love to see one.
Haha I am the same way with the paper cover on hardbacks!! It’s got to go!! 👋🏼
Thank you for reading those to help us guide us✨
Here is a positive take to you "waste of time" comment: these books caused you to stretch and exercise your critical thinking, and understanding of Biblical truth.
I would love to hear what you had to say about Jinger Vuolo's book. (Duggar).
Check her previous video about the prosperity gospel! She talks about Jinger’s book 😊
Hey Faith, thank you for the book reviews, quite helpful❤️🔥
Have you read Oswald Chambers' books? Like 'My Utmost for His Highest'.
I love your bookshelf so much! I need friends like you in my life!
I think those books are great for baby Christians or non-Christians. Anything that helps connect them to God is a good thing.
Thank you for this Video Faith. I would Love it if you made a video of book recommendations, I’ve been reading and studying my Bible more and would love an updated list of Christian book recommendations to help me along. Thank you
She put some of her recommendations in the video description! 💕😀
This was a great review! Thank you for addressing the "emotional" Christian fad out there.
