I love the "The Well-watered Woman" by Gretchen Saffles, and Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst. Cried while reading both. They truly helped me understand more and grow :)
Your love for reading motivates me so much to read more for enjoyment 😫 thank you so much for this list! And also, amen to you mentioning how the Bible is the most important book!!!
Wow! This video was suggested for me and the algorithm chose perfectly! A few I own, but many sound great. Grateful to have found your videos! This is a great start to my summer reading list!
Wonderful list of powerful Christian life changing books. I have so appreciated your sincerity and humility. Definitively I would grab some soon. Stay blessed, fellow sister.
i actually found a copy of strengthening your grip at one of my local thrift stores and picked it up because I remembered you mentioning it in another one of your videos. thanks for the recommendation! I may have never picked it up without your video :)
I love Corrie ten Boom’s The Hiding Place - I read that when I was a girl and it has meant so much to me. I’m also very interested in You’re not Enough and that’s okay. Some of those others I haven’t heard of but several sound interesting! Thanks for this video
I’m going to try to read all of these! I love your recommendation videos because I know you have a biblical lens, and that definitely shows in your videos! some of my favorite books are: Tactics - gregory koukl seeking allah finding Jesus - Nabeel Qureshi Person of Interest - J. Warner Wallace Another Gospel? - Alisa childers the case for christ - Lee Strobel 😊😊😊
I was waiting to see if The Hiding Place was on your list! It is a book that has definitely stuck with me and challenged my faith! Will check out the other recommendations ☺️
Great video! It also reminds me thatI have some unread Andrew Murray and Charles Swindoll books on my shelf. But the ones you presented I didn't know. The Randy Alcorn book is high on my wish list. And I love the Corrie ten Boom books... And John MacArthur. Oh well, all the books you mentioned sound interesting! Greetings from Belgium :-)
Best Christian book I ever read is “100 Ways God Speaks to You.” Also, Anything by Derek Prince, “Church Shift” by Sunday Adelaja, and “15 Secrets of Prayer Warriors” by Robert Avila. Read those, and by the time you’re done, you’ll have a revived, invigorated, exciting relationship with God and the way you view life.
These all sound so good! I really want to check out Managing God's Money soon. One I read this year that I loved and that has a lot of different topics is Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask by Mark Mittelberg. It's great for getting answers to hard biblical questions that non-believers often ask.
Love this! I LOVED The Hiding Place! I listened to the audiobook and it was amazing! I definitely need to read these books they sound so good! Especially the John MacArthur book I really love his books and study bible! I'm pretty new to reading Christian nonfiction but The Truth War by John MacArthur really helped me and the devotional I'm currently reading is My Utmost for His highest by Oswald Chambers and it's so good! Very deep! I have to read it a couple times to fully understand it. It really makes you think! I definitely want to read more of Chambers. And Spurgeon! He has so many books! Lol
I like your videos Kendra I have purchased so many good books that you recommended thank you. At the top of my tbr pile is Managing God's Money. Happy Reading :)
This list is absolutely phenomenal! My wife and I have read many of these. Here is a list of books that have absolutely changed my life: Spiritual Depression by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones The Mortification of Sin by John Owen A Display of the Person of Christ by John Owen Heaven Taken by Storm by Thomas Watson How Long, O Lord by D. A. Carson The Gospel Comes With a House Key by Rosaria Butterfield The Pleasures of God by John Piper A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael by Elizabeth Elliott George Whitefield Biography by Arnold Dallimore
Also another series that I love is called the Hawk and the Dove series by Penelope Wilcock. One of the books described Jesus’s death and I sat on my bed and cried because of how powerful the words were. They showed me that He gave all.
I have read Allie Beth Stuckey's book, "you're not enough". I had read it, thinking I would read many points that I had already known or thought of. It was more challenging than I thought it would be. I have currently started "We Will Not Be Silenced" by Erwin W. Lutzer and "Faithfully Different" by Natasha Crain. I would highly recommend both in order to understanding what is happening in our world today. I would also recommend "Awake and Alive to Truth" by John L. Cooper, "Divided Nation" by Ken Ham, "Quick Answers to Social Issues" by Bryan Osborne and "Quick Answers to Tough Questions" by Bryan Osborne and Bodie Hodge.
And I feel you on the humility part.. God's had to open my eyes these past few months on my humility issue. At first I'm like no no no, I'm very humble! Now, I'm like oh... wow ok I see it 😂😂😂
Some great recommendations here Kendra! Adding a few to my ever growing wish-list. It would be hard to condense my all time favourite/ most recommended christian non-fiction reads...it would turn into a 5 part essay! But a few from this year have been 'Trusting God' by Jerry Bridges, and classic John Macarthur goodness in the books 'Jesus Unleashed' and 'Final Word'.
It’s so hard to narrow them down, I’ll probably have to start doing my favorites of the year! Thanks for those suggestions, definitely adding them to my list!
I loved The Hiding Place when I read it. I believe it brought tears to my eyes (it’s very atypical for me to cry while reading unless the story is very moving). Also the series that has really helped me grow in my spiritual journey this past year is Left Behind: The Kids. I have yet to read the original Left Behind series but I do own them. Those books help put things in perspective and bring deep comfort since so many scary things our happening in our world.
I think we read the Left Behind series as a family when I was a little kid, I remember liking them! I totally forgot about them until you mentioned it!
One I really enjoyed that has different topics is 9 Common Lies Christians Believe by Shane Pruitt. Also very different but the Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian is so good!
Hi! So...a book that has challenged a specific facet of my faith is "God over Good" by Luke Norsworthy. It's a candid account about a young man (the author) who is (1) a pastor and (2) struggles with doubt and making sense of both God and the world. It's specifically geared toward Christians who find it difficult to reconcile their faith with their doubt(s), but broad enough for a wider audience. It's an easy read while still thought provoking--especially, if like me, you don't agree with something but cannot discredit his position on x because it's currently where he stands in his walk with the Lord (hope that makes sense). I'd recommend this to (1) its targeted audience and (2) Christians who are mature in their faith and able to agree and/or grapple with many of the things he tackles in this book. 4 out of 5 stars for me.
Thank you for this video, such a wonderful encouragement! My favorites right now are…The Chemistry of the Blood by M. R. DeHaan & The Path of Loneliness by Elisabeth Elliot
I just bought Allie Beth's book and I love her podcast, have you read The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer (I am still reading) it's such a good book on salvation, sanctification and obedience
Right Thinking sounds so interesting. I just finished With by Skye Jethani which I really liked. Now I'm reading God's Crime Scene by J. Warner Wallace. It's an apologetics book, really good!
I recommend a book by Rebecca Deng called "What They Meant For Evil." It would be great if you could review it on your channel! Rebecca was one of the first unaccompanied refugee children to enter the United States in 2000, after South Sudan's second civil war took the lives of most of her family, Rebecca's story begins in the late 1980s when, at the age of four, her village was attacked and she had to escape. The book made me look at Josephs story in Genesis in a new way. I ended up doing an interview with her for my channel.
Thank you. I was looking for books to strengthen me as a Christian besides the bible...of course, is always number 1 but I want to expand my mind and my way of thinking even more. I want to be able to teach ppl things and grow even more. I want my mind as Holy, humble, meek, obedient, and have as much faith as anyone that is a pastor that has been a pastor for many years. I want to really be able to transform myself with books and knowledge. I do read the book of Jasher and I have the book of Enoch also. Thank you for this list. God bless you 🙏 ❤️ 🙌
Love your recommendations! I strongly recommend Calvin's A Little Book on the Christian Life and Spurgeon's Encouragement for the Depressed. Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices by another Puritan author (Thomas Brooks) blew me away, too--it cuts deep and is still 100% relevant.
Culture Shock by Chip Ingram. Definitely think it’s something you’d like. Jesus > Religion by Jefferson Bethke & The Daniel Dilemma by Chris Hodges. If you are interested in Apologetics; I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist by Frank Turek, Tactics by Greg Koukl, Case for Christ by Lee Strobel and Cold Case Christianity by J Warner Wallace.
Hi Kendra, stumbled upon your channel. Great reading suggestions, thanks! Looked up The church in babylon on Audible and will start listening to it, also added the hiding place and Managing God's Money. Your video quality is also extremely good, may I ask what camera you used? Regards. Pierre.

But Jesus said blessed is the man who is not offended by me ...it kind of blew my mind and it motivates me when ever the going gets tough ...
I read humility by Andrew Murray. It’s really a blessing book. You may check out these two books by A.W.Tozer: the knowledge of the Holy and the pursuit of God. I don’t know if you have read Pilgrim’s progress. I suppose you read it
