Woah. Im local....and having pride in the town hasnt been easy. This is a fabulous piece of work. Well done. As I write, the Gull Wing Bridge is now "in place" and the opening is imminent. Regardless of any party-political positions, well done Peter Aldous, an MP who "gets" us and fights our corner
This is really good. I was born in Lowestoft and now live in Guernsey so its nice to see something that shows Lowestoft in such a positive light. You have done a great job.
Absolutely love the Ravine great childhood caravan memories , my sister was a dancer at the Sparrows Nest Theatre . absolutely loved living in Guernsey , worked at Creaseys , now living in Grand Cayman xx
Great documentary, I have lived in Lowestoft all my life and seen all that industry disappear there’s a lot of negativity from locals about the town now but I for one feel very lucky to live here especially over the last year I think the beach and seafront has kept everyone going.
Thanks for your kind comment! We're glad to hear you loved watching it as much as we loved making it, we echo your positivity and think Lowestoft is a great to live, work and visit 😊
Great documentary. I liked how you conveyed the potential Lowestoft can realise and the positive steps being taken - council guy was brill. Yesterday I bought a weekend home there and this vid gave me a reason to believe it’s a good decision - I can see why the locals are jaded but after watching this I believe Lowestoft will get up off it’s knees and I’d love to help
I was born in Lowestoft (hospital) 1960. Raised there. My home town. So proud of it. Living in Australia now 51 years. I still miss it and will return one day soon. The Wherry hotel, Oulton Broad is one of the best pubs in the world. Blows anything on Sydney harbor out of the water.
Watching this in Thailand as my sister lives in Lowestoft - I am deeply impressed by the spirit of true and positive enthusiasm that pervades this unique and beautiful town. Bless all the inhabitants of this community; and may you all be well, happy and peaceful.
That was fabulous! Even as a long-term expat, I still feel a connection to where I come from and I’m so pleased that Lowestoft has a great future ahead of it. Looking forward to visiting again once this wretched pandemic is over.
Had many a good laugh in Lowestoft when a worked for BOSTON & PUTFORDS worked with some fantastic Lowestoft lads haven’t been back since a left 1997 me last ship was ‘“BRITANNIA CHEIFTAIN “ happy days and cracking memories
I just watched this and it was absolutely fantastic! Would love more on the history of Lowestoft , maybe during the war. Such a great job you should be proud ! Thank you
Visited Lowestoft for the first time in earnest last year while working there and I could sense the history ... but my God the state of the old High Street with the old Scores coming off it ... amazing architecture but almost entirely boarded up and crumbling ... and I had to get there from the modern centre through a kind of derelict no-mans land. I know all high streets are suffering an identity crisis but I think yours shows the best potential for regeneration and an exciting shopping experience for holidaymakers. It seems a massive shame that it's just stagnating. Are the shop landlords still asking exorbitant rents for a place nobody visits? Surely the council needs to step in and just get something ... anything ... trading there to kick-start what should so obviously be happening.
I was born in Lowestoft hospital and grew up in the town. My grandad & uncle were both shipwrights in the town. Very proud of my home town. I am an expat living in Australia. Miss Lowestoft.
I was born in Lowestoft in 1945. I went to school and lived there until 1965 before moving to Surrey and eventually to South Devon. I had both good times and bad living in Lowestoft but always try and keep track of what’s happening there because although I’ve spent most of my life living elsewhere I still regard it as home. This excellent video was most interesting, some parts of the town are now unrecognisable to me but others remain much the same, I was actually born and lived in Cleveland Road so imagine my surprise in leaning that Micheal Caine lived there at the same time as I did. Great work! Dare I hope for a sequel?
Hi Henry, thanks for your lovely comment! Plead do make sure you subscribe as there will be a major sequel in 10 years time and more content before that! 😊
We hope you enjoy watching Lowestoft's very own documentary, please do "Watch, Share and Love where you live!". We look forward to bringing you new content soon.
Excelllent video. Should have many more views. You need to get on to your social media marketing ps I’ve shared the vid and I know a few business people who are interested in potentially setting up in your town to service the potential.growth in renewables industry. .. well done!

best time to be in lowestoft is early on the sea wall when the sun is rising and no people..
Thought there was going to be a bit more of a story but good promotional video 👍👏

Well Done
Thanks Chris 😊🎞
Love the video, but the background music is far too loud, you can't hear what the women with the soft voices are saying.
my dad lived in Denmark Road during the war and him and his family got bombed out twice
Michael Caine in Lowestoft? Not many people know that.
He certainly did, and we’re proud to be spreading the word that he did! 😊🎞
Yo i was there
That's great to hear! 😊
council town planners wrecked Lowestoft in the '70s and the european fisheries policy finished it off. Awful place now
