I feel you on a lot of this stuff especially the events and content creation. ❤️ I want to do them all to support people, but mentally I need to step back and pick and choose too. I've always wanted to love in a Victorian house. I imagine secret passages and hidden rooms 😆 It was hard but I had to come to terms with the facts that I'm one person and I can only spread myself and my time so thin. Not only that but life is too short to do anything that brings us less than joy so... yeah it is what it is. We live for ourselves and give what we can when we can and that's the best we can do.
I'm glad you decided to continue making the series' YOU like, whether they get a lot of views or not. If you don't do what YOU love, your channel will start to feel like work to you and you won't have as much joy in it. I keep telling myself that IF I ever make videos, it is going to be what I want to do, not what I think people want me to do. I also tell myself I won't ever monetize my channel if I ever got to whatever requirements it takes to be eligible to do so. If people don't like what I make they won't watch my videos, and I'm fine with that. I work a full-time job and I do not dream of making it big on RUclips. RUclips is not my life. In the back of my brain, I'd kind of like to make videos that my kids can go back and watch when I am no longer here, be it crafty videos or whatever else might strike my fancy. I like longer form WIP and chats the most, but I also like stash videos, small shop hauls, etc. I also like to see products from less well-known companies. Unboxings, I could go either way. Sometimes I watch them, but more than half the time I don't.
I started my channel with the same mindset of leaving behind something for my family to look back on. See me. Hear me. Watch me. And for myself to keep my mind off of the things that are troubling me. My channel will be what it will be, big or small, I have no world domination goals 😆 It took this past year to get my bearings, figure out the landscape, and learn some things. Wow! Welcome to your new obsession! Something about it is very addicting. I think it's different to different people. For me it was watching a flat picture become more of a 3d thing and the orderliness of placing drills and the mind distracting puzzle ish nature of the symbols. I dont know wat happened to you i just started watching your show and wanted to tell you that 15 yrs ago i hit 2 trees head on in a tracker was out for 9 days and i woke up to no use of my arm the only feelings i have is tinkling pain yes the pain that brings you down quick so i do know how bad it sucks not to have people around i live in mi but from ky so i have no one here so i was in a bad depression and a friend showef me dp my first dp was a circle that said love is and every drill i said to myself love is so yea thats my life so glad i found krystyn and she is how i meet you so happy that i found you they say that stuff comes to you at the right time
I'm so sorry for your accident, but I'm really REALLY glad you had the strength to make it through them and every day since! My situation is more of a disabling, slowly terminal medical thing. But we are all heading in the same direction, so I don't really dwell on it, or at least I try not to. I got in to diamond painting too help keep my hands and mind busy after I started having panic attacks brought about by my declining health. Getting back to your video “roots” might just be the spark you need to find the joy again! Good for you to be self aware enough to see these things, reevaluate and make those changes! However as a person in recovery and 56 years old,I have learned that I always have to be true to myself and if I am finding myself unhappy in my life I have to make changes. I am someone who absolutely understands needing to focus on what YOU enjoy, understandable needing to go back and remind yourself what you like and doing that. Personally for me, and I’ve said it before - there’s a reason I was drawn to your channel. I took the extra step and became a channel member and comment so frequently (I rarely comment on other channels) because I massively appreciate the realness and humour you bring to your videos, regardless if they are part of a series or not. That being said though I do like your tales from the cr’wipt series because it blends into my other fascination for all things true crime, myths and legends. I also love your retelling of life events that occur and my kids always wonder what is making me snicker and gaffaw as I diamond paint. I have so many exciting (to me) ideas to rejuvenate, refresh, and spice up the standard format of most diamond painting videos. We all get used to seeing and doing things the same way as most others but I've never really been a sheep. It's in my nature to push boundaries and follow my own beat. To some, that's not exciting or inviting. But that's OK, because I'm me, they aren't, so therefore I need to just be unafraid to do me and go for it! Risk it for the biscuit as they say!
Whatever changes you make to the channel, I'll be here! I think going back to videos that make you happy is a great decision. Despite what the analytics are telling you, the tales from the crWIPt videos as well as the Figure It Out Friday videos are definitely favourites of mine. I also love your WIP and chats. Those are THE most time consuming to research and pull together into a cohesive story of my own words and with all the events lately I've resorted to the quicker "easier" material like Mandela and mystical stuff. But true crime will be coming back very soon! After all, that's my TRUE passion. I hope to incorporate more wip n chit chats, but with all the negative lately I don't want it to bleed into that time and taint it, so I've been avoiding it. I'm in one of Life's ruts where I'm not finding the humor in most things at the moment. 2024 was great for you and your channel. It seems like a lot of us found you about the same time and grabbed the dark and creepy rocket ship while it took off. 🎉😮 Events are nice but realistically if this HUGE not feasible every month. It's physically not possible. Everyone should realize as the channel grows the format will revise. I like anything you do. Slowdown and enjoy life again.
Thats excellent advice about taking it back to square one and doing what you love best. People watch because of the creator’s enthusiasm and energy. If the energy isn’t there the views will dwindle. People pick up on the creator’s state of mind. Thats why I am always looking for the new creators and enjoying their enthusiasm and fresh attitude about diamond painting that comes across in their earliest videos. It makes me enthusiastic about my craft too. Its rubs off on me and keeps it fresh and new to me too which is awesome because I have been dong this craft since 2020.
If we're not careful, we can start feeling certain pressures that can suck the joy out of the whole thing, craft, channel, and all. It's important to remind oneself why we started and what we wanted or expected from the beginning and take inventory on how we feel about things in the present. I like how the pink is looking, I believe you thought it might not show properly in the haul vid. Honestly I watch you because of your personality and transparency. As Ive said many times before, I would never have thought I would like darker canvases. But yup I do now. Thank you! I'm still pretty early on the wip, but it is actually looking MUCH better than I thought it would! I always know when a wip is good when Sundown walks by and stops to look, says wow, and makes me stop so he can hold it up for me to see at a viewing distance. 😆 Sorry about the palpitations! 😆 It's just really strange because I always hear "I love this series and that series," but the analytics say those are the worst performers, so I'm SO confused! I HAVE been told multiple times that people (even Sundown) don't get notifications on the Tales releases, which is odd. Those are the ones I love the most, but they are really time-consuming with the research. But like I said, I want to make the content I like to make so it isn't going away. I do hear a lot, I must admit, that people don't care for the darker, creepier canvases, but either grow to appreciate them once they start seeing them or they stay to listen but not look. I do have a strong community. Some die hard dark art lovers and some that are just here for my voice/ personality, and everything in between. Definitely grab this canvas when you can!! There's another person in the event working on it, and it's turning out phenomenal! There's a lot of confetti and color blocking, but it's totally worth it in the end! Especially for the price! I LOVE canvases like this that merge the macabre with the elegant. I've been watching your videos for the variety of them that you make. That's what I look for. I enjoy your company while I'm dp'ing. My favourite ones are The Tales from the Cr'wip't.
Thank you 😀 One thing I noticed when considering starting a channel is that i went to one for this kind of video and another for that kind of video, and another for another kind because I didn't really find what all I was looking for in one place. So when I started my channel, I did so more traditionally with the standard types of community videos we all have (hauls, unboxing, wip n chats, etc) but once established felt comfortable expanding to content more outside the box, which is where I always wanted to go with it. I like variety. I like NOT feeling like I'm the same material, just a different voice. (Kinda like same 💩 different day.) I really love the Tales series. They are the most time-consuming with research and scripting (because if i don't write myself notes or scripts, I'll leave all kinds of things out lol) but also, the series I enjoy the most. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Love the house and I would live it! I agree with events, they are fun but a lot and you always end up doing/getting canvases just to follow along. I do really enjoy your event though because you and Kristyn actually involve the community and make it fun! The hardest thing in life is doing what we actually want vs what we think others want from us. I am also pushing myself this year to be more me so I stay happy. I watch everything. Tend to lean more towards WIP and chats and post reviews. There’s only so many videos to watch of the same DP. I also have been trying to stay with small shops vs big ones.
As creators, with the encouragement in the emails and in the studio, with the materials provided by the yubistubis, and analytics being what they are (vaguely informative), and knowing that as non competing we may be as a person, competition is encouraged all around us. It's easy to get nudged off course even a little before we even realize it. But it's good to stop, evaluate, be honest with yourself, and make sure you're remaining true to yourself and not being derailed by others or the materials provided. It can be too easy to lose yourself in this environment. I'm proud of you for focusing on you this year! I'm so glad you're enjoying the event! We really wanted to make it fun for others-- more interactive. That's what makes it fun for us too! We're just getting started too! Things are going to ramp up a little especially with "item rehomings" coming soon! I would love to do more WiP'n'Chit Chats but my life is boring and I often don't have much to discuss 😆 🖤🖤🖤🖤

I did a lot of events last year but in the end I didn’t enjoy them all. I plan on doing on 3-4 months of events. I just want to diamond paint on what my mood tells me.
I may be in the minority here but I don’t watch channels based on the type of paintings they do. I base my subscription channels on the creators themselves. I love watching D&W but she does a lot of canvases I have no personal interest in doing myself but I like her personality. I feel the same way about your channel (but I love the canvases you do lol), your personality just clicks with mine and we share a lot of values. Another creator I watch is crazy and scattered and all over the place, which is opposite of mine because I’m a control freak that plans everything but she makes me laugh and I live vicariously through her videos. I have trouble finding dark and creepy creators so I kinda stopped looking at the canvases they do and started looking at them as people instead.
I had trouble finding people that did darker art and/or "spicy" diamond art consistently as well, which was a motivating factor in my starting my channel. I wanted to see something aside from the same old unicorn farts and fairy dust. 🖤
Luv, you got that all wrong about being under the impression that we dont need/ want you hovering over us on Facebook. We love you hitting that like button, commenting, and generally involving yourself in our conversations. Now with that said no you dont HAVE too. Please dont feel like you are some sort of annoying teacher who wants to sit with his class during lunch and act like the cool teacher. LOL Please jump in organically where you want or dont want. Socials take up a lot of my extra "free" (and not so free) time to be honest. I really do need to scale back. The true crime tales are my favorite fave! I'm also a useless info/ data nerd, so I love reviewing kit color names and tracking hours spent and money spent, etc. I plan to incorporate more of that this year too!

I have so many exciting (to me) ideas to rejuvenate, refresh, and spice up the standard format of most diamond painting videos. We all get used to seeing and doing things the same way as most others but I've never really been a sheep. It's in my nature to push boundaries and follow my own beat. To some, that's not exciting or inviting. But that's OK, because I'm me, they aren't, so therefore I need to just be unafraid to do me and go for it! Risk it for the biscuit as they say!

Whatever changes you make to the channel, I'll be here! I think going back to videos that make you happy is a great decision. Despite what the analytics are telling you, the tales from the crWIPt videos as well as the Figure It Out Friday videos are definitely favourites of mine. I also love your WIP and chats. Thanks Jack. I do enjoy the true crime more as well. Those are THE most time consuming to research and pull together into a cohesive story of my own words and with all the events lately I've resorted to the quicker "easier" material like Mandela and mystical stuff. But true crime will be coming back very soon! After all, that's my TRUE passion.
I hope to incorporate more wip n chit chats, but with all the negative lately I don't want it to bleed into that time and taint it, so I've been avoiding it. I'm in one of Life's ruts where I'm not finding the humor in most things at the moment. But I AM finding humor in some of the things Leah has been exposed to at work and I'll be sharing those soon 😆 🤣 😂

2024 was great for you and your channel. It seems like a lot of us found you about the same time and grabbed the dark and creepy rocket ship while it took off. 🎉😮 Events are nice but realistically if this HUGE not feasible every month. It's physically not possible. Everyone should realize as the channel grows the format will revise. I like anything you do. Slowdown and enjoy life again.

Thats excellent advice about taking it back to square one and doing what you love best. People watch because of the creator’s enthusiasm and energy. If the energy isn’t there the views will dwindle. People pick up on the creator’s state of mind. Thats why I am always looking for the new creators and enjoying their enthusiasm and fresh attitude about diamond painting that comes across in their earliest videos. It makes me enthusiastic about my craft too. Its rubs off on me and keeps it fresh and new to me too which is awesome because I have been dong this craft since 2020.
If we're not careful, we can start feeling certain pressures that can suck the joy out of the whole thing, craft, channel, and all. It's important to remind oneself why we started and what we wanted or expected from the beginning and take inventory on how we feel about things in the present.

Love that painting
It's really beautiful so far. The flower actually looks like a flower. The lace actually looks like lace.
The house looks like its covered in pink Candy floss/ Cotton candy. Its looks nice. Recognise the current wip from 1 of your hauls. I like how the pink is looking, I believe you thought it might not show properly in the haul vid. Had heart palpitations when you mentioned changes then series 😅 I thought ohhh noo done get rid of those. Absolutely love your series and date nights. I tell everyone about them. Honestly I watch you because of your personality and transparency. As Ive said many times before, I would never have thought I would like darker canvases. But yup I do now. I recently watched a video you did from a year ago. Talking about why and how you started the channel. You have to do what makes you happy in your bubble. We are just pocket pals along for the jounery. I honestly think non of your members would go anywhere or think any way about you doing what YOU always wanted to do with your channel. Thank you! I'm still pretty early on the wip, but it is actually looking MUCH better than I thought it would! I always know when a wip is good when Sundown walks by and stops to look, says wow, and makes me stop so he can hold it up for me to see at a viewing distance. 😆
Sorry about the palpitations! 😆 It's just really strange because I always hear "I love this series and that series," but the analytics say those are the worst performers, so I'm SO confused! I HAVE been told multiple times that people (even Sundown) don't get notifications on the Tales releases, which is odd. Those are the ones I love the most, but they are really time-consuming with the research. But like I said, I want to make the content I like to make so it isn't going away.
I do hear a lot, I must admit, that people don't care for the darker, creepier canvases, but either grow to appreciate them once they start seeing them or they stay to listen but not look.
I do have a strong community. Some die hard dark art lovers and some that are just here for my voice/ personality, and everything in between. With such a diverse group, I realize I'm never going to make EVERYONE happy.

My favorite are the true crime episodes, but I've been really tapped for time and haven't been able to do them justice, so I'm finding other less time-consuming topics that interest me. Definitely grab this canvas when you can!! There's another person in the event working on it, and it's turning out phenomenal! There's a lot of confetti and color blocking, but it's totally worth it in the end! Especially for the price!
I LOVE canvases like this that merge the macabre with the elegant. There's beauty in the darkness, too, if you look past the surface!

I've been watching your videos for the variety of them that you make. That's what I look for. I enjoy your company while I'm dp'ing. My favourite ones are The Tales from the Cr'wip't.
Thank you 😀 One thing I noticed when considering starting a channel is that i went to one for this kind of video and another for that kind of video, and another for another kind because I didn't really find what all I was looking for in one place. So when I started my channel, I did so more traditionally with the standard types of community videos we all have (hauls, unboxing, wip n chats, etc) but once established felt comfortable expanding to content more outside the box, which is where I always wanted to go with it. I like variety. I like NOT feeling like I'm the same material, just a different voice. (Kinda like same 💩 different day.)
I really love the Tales series. They are the most time-consuming with research and scripting (because if i don't write myself notes or scripts, I'll leave all kinds of things out lol) but also, the series I enjoy the most.

I agree with events, they are fun but a lot and you always end up doing/getting canvases just to follow along. I do really enjoy your event though because you and Kristyn actually involve the community and make it fun!
The hardest thing in life is doing what we actually want vs what we think others want from us. I am also pushing myself this year to be more me so I stay happy.
I watch everything. Tend to lean more towards WIP and chats and post reviews. There’s only so many videos to watch of the same DP. I also have been trying to stay with small shops vs big ones.
As creators, with the encouragement in the emails and in the studio, with the materials provided by the yubistubis, and analytics being what they are (vaguely informative), and knowing that as non competing we may be as a person, competition is encouraged all around us. It's easy to get nudged off course even a little before we even realize it.
But it's good to stop, evaluate, be honest with yourself, and make sure you're remaining true to yourself and not being derailed by others or the materials provided. It can be too easy to lose yourself in this environment. I'm proud of you for focusing on you this year!
I'm so glad you're enjoying the event! We really wanted to make it fun for others-- more interactive. That's what makes it fun for us too! We're just getting started too! Things are going to ramp up a little especially with "item rehomings" coming soon!

I did a lot of events last year but in the end I didn’t enjoy them all. I plan on doing on 3-4 months of events. I just want to diamond paint on what my mood tells me.

I may be in the minority here but I don’t watch channels based on the type of paintings they do. I base my subscription channels on the creators themselves. I love watching D&W but she does a lot of canvases I have no personal interest in doing myself but I like her personality. I feel the same way about your channel (but I love the canvases you do lol), your personality just clicks with mine and we share a lot of values. Another creator I watch is crazy and scattered and all over the place, which is opposite of mine because I’m a control freak that plans everything but she makes me laugh and I live vicariously through her videos. I have trouble finding dark and creepy creators so I kinda stopped looking at the canvases they do and started looking at them as people instead.
I had trouble finding people that did darker art and/or "spicy" diamond art consistently as well, which was a motivating factor in my starting my channel. I wanted to see something aside from the same old unicorn farts and fairy dust. 🖤
Luv, you got that all wrong about being under the impression that we dont need/ want you hovering over us on Facebook. We love you hitting that like button, commenting, and generally involving yourself in our conversations. Now with that said no you dont HAVE too. Please dont feel like you are some sort of annoying teacher who wants to sit with his class during lunch and act like the cool teacher. LOL Please jump in organically where you want or dont want. Socials take up a lot of my extra "free" (and not so free) time to be honest. I really do need to scale back. As much as I enjoy all the interaction, I often spend more time than I mean to responding to notifications and private messages. I really need to learn that it's ok not to respond immediately.
