Growing up in the early 2000s surrounded by hip hop I never thought of listening to thrash. I got this CD for free 10 years ago and have been hooked on thrash metal since. Thank you Overkill.
@@thegraychannel19953 That's funny you just listed 2 of my big 4. I have Testament, Overkill, Slayer, and Megadeth in no particular order. Not that I have anything against Metallica they were just thrash for 4 albums only. And I really don't know what's so great about anthrax. Just my opinion.
These legends got even better with time. Definitely a good time to be a fan of Thrash with the pioneers showing they still got it and the new guns firing off some truly insane shit \m/
For some reason, I got into Overkill very late. Never paid them much attention. But the moment I heard Necroshine....I was floored!!! Now I can't think of playing anything other than Overkill in my car!!! \m/ \m/
D.D. Verni is NEVER buried in the mix on ANY Overkill LP! Try "Fast Junkie" from W.F.O. for one of my personal favorite basslines from D.D. The man flat pummels you on that track!
Actually Blitz has one of the most original thrash metal vocals ive ever heard,I should know Ive listened to hundreds of thrash bands(even ones that lasted only 1-5 years)and I didnt hear anyone sing as great as him.Blitz and Overkill are the kings of THRASH.
This is my first time listening to this beast of a band this is what I call real music no computers or shitty lyrics mad respect for this band and their fans 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Avenged Sevenfold (Or A7X for short) is another band, and their logo is also a skull with bat wings. He was commenting on how they pretty much stole Overkill's skull.
I love Bobby Blitz !! He’s so insanely intense and evil!! Most masterfully written lyrics!! Short and extremely concise!! That’s what makes a great lyric writer! It’s hard not to sound like your writing a book!!
Una de las mejores bandas de thrash metal Y una de las pocas bandas que no le puedes reclamar casi nada Y porsupuesto los Padres del Thash metal Over kill yeeeahhhhh!
For some reason, I got into Overkill very late. Never paid them much attention. But the moment I heard necroshine....I was floored!!! Now I cont thing of playing anything other than Overkill in my car!!! \m/ \m/
+A Raghavan Same here ... When Overkill started I wasn't into it much. I just discovered Overkill about 18 months ago and have been hooked since. My whole You Tube channel is Overkill bound ... check it out. Especially "1985-1995 Overkill Wrecking Your Neck Live" is Overkill kick ass at its best
Meneocus Kill \m/ Metal till we die!!! \m/! The bassist brother use to live in my childhood neighborhood, but my dumbass didn't like OVERKILL in my teens Lol! Got to love their springy bass tone!
+Zack Demianczyk Metal till we die for sure \m/!! Can't be any other way. So you were breathing the same air with the great one as a kid ... that's pretty amazing. I feel honored to share the same planet with these guys. I met Dave Linsk in March this year in Clifton Park , NY. I ran into him before their concert and he was the coolest guy ever ... shook my hand, chatted and gave me his guitar pick. Yaah, Overkill rulez in my book!
The interesting thing is they basically use the essence of the beginning of the opening riff to good mourning black friday and the closing riff to end wake up dead from megadeth and combine it for a sweet interluding bridge.
10/10 Would Thrash again. Not many thrash bands seem to like prominent bass, which is sad. Overkill shows that yes, bass does add a very strong and versatile texture to the music. Put it with rock solid guitar work, aggressive drums, coat it in Bobby Fuckin Blitz, and watch the awesome explode everywhere.
The best thrash metal band EVER,hands down, the underdogs are always the best, and the hungriest, thats why every Overkill album ripps fuckn heads off,THE BEST,
No, they have a similar logo. The winged skull is very popular in music, tv, video games... That's like saying Slayer copied Venoms logo because they are both pentagrams.
Why do so many people use homosexuality as an insult? It's 2017 - are peoples knuckles still dragging that much, (as with racism / Islamophobia etc), ? Weird.
Although this is one of the band "Thrash at its purest" i think the vocals is what hold them behind all other successful Thrash bands. The vocal is almost similar to 100 other thrash bands that came out the same time.
Growing up in the early 2000s surrounded by hip hop I never thought of listening to thrash. I got this CD for free 10 years ago and have been hooked on thrash metal since. Thank you Overkill.
Welcome brother
well that's the internet, you can listen whatever you want when you want, glad to know that you like Overkill :)
I grew up on it in a way. I was early 90s born, started with grunge, iron maiden made me metal and overkill is in my big 4. Not what the 4 was made
My parents were mostly 80s glam metal, but I've loved overkill and testament for a while. I always tell them Thrash is so much cooler than Glam lol
@@thegraychannel19953 That's funny you just listed 2 of my big 4. I have Testament, Overkill, Slayer, and Megadeth in no particular order. Not that I have anything against Metallica they were just thrash for 4 albums only. And I really don't know what's so great about anthrax. Just my opinion.
i just started listening to this band...umm...better late than never?
same here :D
Welcome my fellow metalhead
metalheaddave666 Heavy Metal Hitman face book
metalheaddave666 Heavy Metal Hitman face book
metalheaddave666 Same here! :D And I started even later!
One of the best metal albums of 2010 in my opinion.
so damn good,
love the lyrics in this one in particular, like an avalanche straight to the brain!
The best of 2010. In top 5 thrash albums after 2000.
Dark roots of earth is number 1
This and Exhibit B the human condition
Best metal album of all time is rust in peace
These legends got even better with time. Definitely a good time to be a fan of Thrash with the pioneers showing they still got it and the new guns firing off some truly insane shit \m/
i hope the new guns today can do the same with the future new guns, that would be sick
For some reason, I got into Overkill very late. Never paid them much attention. But the moment I heard Necroshine....I was floored!!! Now I can't think of playing anything other than Overkill in my car!!! \m/ \m/
Same here
Better late than never bro \m/
The second half of the song is amazing... so underrated.
The drummer in overkill has some serious skills. He deserves a Nobel Prize.
TRUE
I have had this video saved for months, for some reason it has resonated with me more than ever
This melodic solo is just killer... And that main riff...
Whole track is a killer recover in 1
Dat bass... I love when a band doesn't drown the bass in the mix
Love it when bands don't pull a Lars
D.D. Verni is NEVER buried in the mix on ANY Overkill LP! Try "Fast Junkie" from W.F.O. for one of my personal favorite basslines from D.D. The man flat pummels you on that track!
They can't. He's the boss :-)
The bass also doesn’t over complicate itself like in death metal a lot it’s just wholesome
I thoroughly enjoyed the overpowered bass in the W.F.O album. The talent is unmatched.
Actually Blitz has one of the most original thrash metal vocals ive ever heard,I should know Ive listened to hundreds of thrash bands(even ones that lasted only 1-5 years)and I didnt hear anyone sing as great as him.Blitz and Overkill are the kings of THRASH.
and such a beautifull guitar solo 😒😨😬💪😦😮
SUCH an awesome song. this rips hard. listening to overkill in 2013!
I like overkill and testaments late music even more then their early music
This makes my ears happy.
This is my first time listening to this beast of a band this is what I call real music no computers or shitty lyrics mad respect for this band and their fans 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Fuck yeah I have to agree on that
They mimic this sound live. So God damn close to the studio version. Best band I've ever heard live!
one of my favorite overkill songs
OVERKILL has been around with that winged skull for many years longer than Avenged Sevenfold. It's cool either way. So is the music !!
The solo is one of my favorites ever.
I love so much the part in 3:00, amazing.
One of a kind guitar work during the lead sections. I love it :D
Just saw the show in T.O
What a slaughter. Good job boys.
Like a fine wine..these guys just keep getting better....flying the Trash flag high !!
*Thrash you mean
"All my friends are thick and thin
They've loyalty and heart
My friends put me back together
When I fall apart"
Is this about metalheads or what?
YES BRO!!!!!! WE ALL ARE IRONBOUND SINCE 1970 THE CREATION OF METAL!!!!!!!!!
My favorite workout song. How far can you take it.. to goo... IRONBOUND!
Preparing to see them on monday.
still that god damn old school thrash metal. Keep it up!
When he says his friends are automatic he’s referring to guns. Great metaphors as well!!
Gym music at its best!
Avenged Sevenfold (Or A7X for short) is another band, and their logo is also a skull with bat wings. He was commenting on how they pretty much stole Overkill's skull.
this is real metal bro the band is the 1980 first album men
Underrated band...
+BangThatHeadThatDoesn'tBang lol
for me the best THRASH METAL band ever
No. Most legendary. But i like albums, feel the fire, taking over and under the influence.
@@MasaM-c2c You're everywhere lol
Most badass song about the power of friendship I've ever heard
I love Bobby Blitz !! He’s so insanely intense and evil!! Most masterfully written lyrics!! Short and extremely concise!! That’s what makes a great lyric writer! It’s hard not to sound like your writing a book!!
You’re!!
I recently discovered this song and its already one of my time all favorites
Kick ass song. And a kick ass album
OVERKILL 4 LIFE
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Una de las mejores bandas de thrash metal
Y una de las pocas bandas que no le puedes reclamar casi nada
Y porsupuesto los Padres del Thash metal
Over kill yeeeahhhhh!
Overkill used the bat, Charlie, LOOOOONG before Avenged Sevenfold
The bat's name is Chaly not Charlie
Did the band confirm that this is how they came up with the name?
Okay, thanks. I always wondered what 'Chaly get your gun' even meant.
Overkill is the corn on the cob while Avenged sevenfold is the corn stuck in your shit after
Tom H yesssss frr
Check out the song "Gasoline Dream," from W.F.O. if you are a newer fan. That song is beyond AMAZING!!
The whole W.F.O is beyond amazing ... but yeah, Gasoline Dream is epic. Thx
For some reason, I got into Overkill very late. Never paid them much attention. But the moment I heard necroshine....I was floored!!! Now I cont thing of playing anything other than Overkill in my car!!! \m/ \m/

Overkill really kills it ! Gods they are, the lot of them !
one of the best solo ever !!!!!!!!!!!
The interesting thing is they basically use the essence of the beginning of the opening riff to good mourning black friday and the closing riff to end wake up dead from megadeth and combine it for a sweet interluding bridge.

I remember my first time with this song. I couldn't take my breath from kickassness overload :O
I FINALLY found some Overkill fans!
Dam.... that riff ..... epic!
0:07 how he play so fast double bass kicks? Triggers or what?
Practice, that wasn't triggered.
A lot of heavier metal bands have extremely fast, non-triggered drums.
***** Look up Tankard's The Horde;drums are way fucking crazier than this.
Steven Santizo oh, that would be possible. Thanks
+Steven Santizo Actually it was a mix of both, it was a sick drum fill.
+Logik426 Late reply but it's a mix of toms and bass drum, going like 4 tom hits + 2 bass drum hits, 3 times
great bass .. like on "exhibit b: the human condition" .. awesome
Best thrash metal band that ever came out of Jersey.
New Jerseys 3 biggest exports.
Pharmaceuticals
Toxic Waste
Heavy Metal
Thank You OVERKILL Better Than EVER...!!!!
i respect your opinion brother! But to my ears it sounds like Destruction! However, it's a great Overkill song!! :)) cheers brother!
I love that he sounds like old UDO!
Was thinking the same thing!
I been a overkill fan since the first cd
1)The Years of Decay
2)Ironbound
3)Horrorscope
"Elimination" Is also good
where is necroshine?
Total agreement here
Love killing kind. From the underground. Necroshine and bloodletting.
4:19 try not to headbang
great tune
i love the way it sounds, very menacing
The best thrash metal band EVER,hands down, the underdogs are always the best, and the hungriest, thats why every Overkill album ripps fuckn heads off,THE BEST,
Ironbound salah satu lagu terbaik overkill selain time to kill, elimination dan bring me the night

Absolutely masterpiece!!
This is a relly cool song! I love the rythm!
Insane guitarist

This band is soo underrated.

Weird.
Ur mom gey
solo...i'm in coma!!!
This is just out of the blue but how did their new album "The Electric Age" hold up compared to this?
Metal. Iron. Ironbound.
I gonna lift so much iron!!!!
OverKill got this album in 2011 or something. They still got it. Thrash is forever.
God, Love this song so much,,
OverKill rules \M/ \M/
Still one of my favorite bands ;)
Overkill kicks ass!! Your channel is cool
1 year without a dislike.
Overkill!!!!
l..l Sin duda alguna Overkill es la MEJOR banda del mundo l..l
MY FAVORITE OVERKILL SONG. ☠️
i find the "make it, never let go" almost the same as the "ready to fly" part from bring me the night
4:26 begining of the solo seems to Megadeth's - Trust
Although this is one of the band "Thrash at its purest" i think the vocals is what hold them behind all other successful Thrash bands. The vocal is almost similar to 100 other thrash bands that came out the same time.
Haha. You gotta be fucking kidding me!! Troll. There isn't a single band that could ever duplicate Bobby's pitches and conviction.
From the beginning....somewhere in ....puh,I don't know....1984? 1948?
Pure metal power
