We are Korean family living in the Philippines. We cooked Filipino silken tofu dessert taho today. We added sago pearls and syrup in this taho we made. Lami kaayo ang taho ug buhay probinsya!

I'm past 40 now but taho is my comfort food, or quick breakfast, since I was like 5 but vendors nowadays tend to destroy the silky, velvety scoops just to stir in the caramel and the sago. I mean, scoop in a little taho, add a layer of the caramel and sago, cover it with another layer of taho... I guess some people prefer goopy mashed undercooked tofu but to each his own, right? 🥴 So glad to see you making it.

silken tofu is available in most supermarkets.. but this, homemade taho from scratch is amazing!

I made taho once and i used silken tofu instead. It's sort of a shortcut or cheat instead of making it from scratch. But it tastes just the same. Just steam the tofu for 30mins or less, and that's it! 😊

I eat it any time of the day though, usually for dessert 😂. Only because the taho vendor would come around the street from whereI am from starting at 3-4pm in the afternoon. I'd buy a large cup and store it in the cooler so I can eat it whenever I want. I guess if it is sweet, then it is a dessert 😅
