Dear DeLeon Lab, is there a possibility to draw a ROI in 3D Slicer without the use of the segmentation tools? For example when you do the segmentation, but you still need a ROI for something else that is not included in the segmentation. Kind regards, Karolina
Yes! You can define multiple ROIs for different purposes, and you can see them as separate objects in the Data module. There are many ways to create ROIs, and a lot of modules will create them automatically. Here's one workflow that I often use: Load data -> Visualize data using Volume Rendering module -> Annotation_ROI is created automatically and visible in the Data module -> Right click on Annotation_ROI in Data module and select "Clone" -> Rename the new annotation based on its purpose. This new ROI can then be modified independently and used for a different purpose. I hope this helps! -Valerie
I erased to much of my segmentation and cannot keep 2 selected islands in my saving so I'm trying to draw back some connection by the tool "draw" and it just did not work. There's any extra tip to make this tool really work and remake what I erased before?
After editing/segmenting the image, whenever i process the image in model maker I receive volume is not 3d error. Any clues which step/what leads to this?
Hi Daryl, You can erase at least two different ways. If you want something like the lasso you can erase using the "Scissor" tool (set to "Erase Inside" or "Erase Outside", in 2D or 3D space), I use that one on every segmentation project I do, it's very helpful. But if you have to be more precise I would use the Erase tool and paint the area you want taken out. Good luck!
@@deleonlab but when using scissor, it will also erase the backface right? it will erase all along in his path, so there is no lasso like eraser? by the way thanks for the reply, and thanks for your tutorials, i learnt many things.. im a newbie in 3D slicer, because it needs to my work .. im using new version 5.2 i think, i hope slicer will update lasso like eraser, coz it will helps u work faster or erase faster ...
@@daryldalore3625 Thank you, I'm really glad the tutorials were useful! You're correct, that scissor tool will erase everything in its path. Maybe try the eraser tool and select "Edit in 3D View" and "Sphere Brush." You might have more control that way. The Slicer team might have a better suggestions, check out their forum here: discourse.slicer.org/. They respond pretty quickly to questions and have a great community of users that could give suggestions.
I am conducting a project related to mandibular condyle displacement study, I am using ITK-SNAP to do segmentation but really takes time and effort, I am doing this on different times CT (T0, T1, T2) so what is your advice to have this tasks done efficiently and swiftly?
Great channel and contents, I want to ask when I do segmentation using 4.13.0 version of 3D Slicer; when loading the CBCT I can not see them showed properly as yours in this clip, I want to send you a screenshot of what I got so if you have an e.mail then can share with you the screenshot, I need your support in this, thank you again.
How could I navigate to Part 2 and 3 of this series?
Last question 😁 how to save the 3D model created by this way?

how to erase, like lasso tool? i mean, i want to erase using draw tool, is it possible?
