I already understood "how" a sump works, I found your explanation (the drawwrings helped) VERY easy to understand. Making me actually think about the mechanics. Great job!
Do you need an overflow/sump system for an aquarium? Im starting a saltwater reef tank. If I’m watching the whole water change then there should be no concern for overflow right?
I’m new to your channel, but I’ve been binge watching a ton of your videos! I love the wealth of information contained within your humorous videos! Keep it up, Big Al 😌
Thank you for the vid! Very nice simple presentation. I always wanted to understand the basics of overflow systems. Maybe one day I’ll have a fish room and utilize these! 😆💕🐟🌱🐠
I saw a system overseas where they were using a gravity vacuum primed by a pump separate from the sump system... I think they were using electronic water level sensors to activate the grav drain any time the sump stopped drawing from the tank... I know it was all hardline and used a paint mixer for adding oxygen and co2 to the clean water return. I'm just not sure I want every tank in my room to be on the same water with temp being the only defining water variable.
Look at your bathroom sink/ bathtub, most has a little hole on the side for an overflow incase you plugged the drain and forgot to turn off your faucet :)
How I wish you presentes this video alongside with actual aquarium examples. I'm a super noob and just purchased a used marine tank I'm planning to set up soon. I have no idea where to put stuff in the sump +++ . lol
To stop flow, if you for some reason ever turn off the pump, you wont flood your sump/basement area. Also some have 2 overflow holes for easy water changes.
Klestello18290 just a tiny bit. But i find the info so valuable i would hate for them to remove the video. Maybe Thomas should film the content again but with props?

Very informative video! Would love to see another video just like this one, explaining the herbie method, bean animal method, etc.
You are the Best! Thank you for your fantastic videos! Wishing you the best from UK

Nice explanation. Someday I’ll have a system big enough to have an overflow. lol.
Great video keep up the great work
can you use an overflow with a canister filter?
No
Does anyone know the tank that’s under the Aquinon 5 gallon?
Look up Aqua One Betta Trio.
Good video. A drilled tank is the only way to go, overflow boxes are scary. Thanks

Is it safe to put some of those water growing toys in a fish tank?
No it's is not

Bro do some research. check out brs tv on youtube
Woah! When did 2003 Viggo Mortensen start presenting these?
Sadly realizing my hair will never get to Thomas level.
if water stops flowing when it get passed the bulkhead why do people put shutoff valves on the pipe

@@KingCatoChaos if the water stop at the box your sump should not flood and you have a one way valve
Can you do a Red Sea reefer set up video
Aren't Red Sea Reefer tanks pretty much the same as portrayed but they're just setup with the overflow and return already built in?
Nice shirt, bruh!
I have pvc diy one, work great
Ur mic sounds staticky
Cool
Hey can you do a video on how overflows work?
Did you change your hair?
I bet you'd slay a man bun
Long hair short beard?! HERESY
your bulkhead is huge and the whole tank is small like the beer mug. not very middle-age friendly I'm afraid..
Where is my Mega Build 2.0 episode 3?
Parroting Pengoon lol

No one else annoyed at the fact that his microphone keeps rubbing up against his flannel shirt?
