STILL WAKES THE DEEP is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre for The Chinese Room, creator of critically acclaimed games such as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther.

Even in the 70's the jobs on the oil rigs paid reasonably well, compared to similar jobs on the mainland. But it was dangerous, and claustrophobic work, and the the Derricks were institutional in regimes (as they had to be) and more closely resembled Prisons in operations.

The TV series for this ["The Rig" (2023)] was amazing. The architecture of this rig is just about a perfect match. I hope more TV episodes are on the way!

'Still Wakes the Deep's' cinematic aesthetic and ominous atmosphere set in rough seas is fantastic. I avoid first-person perspective games like the plague, but the dense Scottish burr may seriously change my mind; I absolutely love the accent and colorful vernacular (Hmm, Scottishisms)
