    In this Trip Report, we’re flying with Singapore Airlines SQ479 in Premium Economy from South Africa’s Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) to Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) on an Airbus A350-900
    This was recorded 01 December 2022.
    Join us to experience the thrill of plane-spotting before embarking on the journey in a comfortable and spacious bulkhead seat. You'll enjoy the stunning aerial view of South Africa's landscapes and Singapore Airlines' Premium service.
    Do you sometimes find yourself contemplating for ages before working up the courage to ask your seat neighbour to let you out? Do you sometimes look at your sleeping seat neighbour wondering how you should wake them to let you out? Well, on this long-haul flight, paying for a bulkhead seat was definitely a plus as it gave me room to stretch my legs and ease of access to the aisle. Would you pay the additional price? Share your thoughts with us!

    Nicely done! At 18:46 do you know what the source of that strong light is? Is it an exhaust flame coming out of one of the refineries?

    • @navsky
      @navsky  Год назад +2

      Great question! I was wondering the same thing. Yep, it's flaring at the refinery!

    One of the most uncomfortable premium economy seat. I am a medium size guy. it's narrow as same as economy seat. only more leg room that you pay extra for.

    • @navsky
      @navsky  11 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah definitely just the leg room so when 2 people are travelling together you're better off in economy with the armrest lifted 😆

    Once I flew premium economy with different air lines, I purchased bulkhead seat and it’s good but it ended up just $1000-$1500 cheaper than business class, if that’s the case, yes I may travel less but I would rather save more money and get on business class.

      Yeah it really depends on the airline and price. I've come across short haul flights when it's not worth the biz price but they offer free seat selection, that just made my day!

    Did you find the IFE too high too watch comfortably?

    • @navsky
      @navsky  Год назад

      I think it maybe at an uncomfortable viewing angle for shorter passengers but it works fine once you recline.

    Wow $4,898 for premium econ? Recently I booked business to Cape Town only $5,750 round trips for up coming November 2023 trip.

    Food looks the same as Economy. SQ and their wild cost cutting is putting them way behind their peers and competitor.
    No real glassware for beverages, no real china, porcelain with the meals - you get the typical Economy class presentation. No hot towels. No paper menu.
    Way behind Emirates (proper glass and tableware for Premium Econ with significantly better meal presentation) and even behind the likes of Cathay, BA, Virgin etc.

      You've got a point! It could do with some revamp to differentiate the premium experience with more than just a seat.
      I went with JAL a few months back and was pleasantly impressed by them. Yet to try Emirates so it'll keep that in mind!
      Thanks for watching!
