Nobody knows until they go through it. It's a nightmare went through it for 6 years of marriage it was mental and emotional for years I had no idea what abuse was never been with any man before him who ever did this. I started researching. Then the last 3 years it became physical. I tried all how to get help but people around us didn't believe me. Had no fiance's nothing I was a house wife. then in the 7 year I kept praying and finally God send an escape. My husband was a pastor so they only defended him. That marriage was toxic my life was worth more than any marriage.

The first time I read a about the twenty something signs that you’re in an abusive relationship I wept bitterly because I came from a home where it was normal for my late father to be abusive to my late mother.I hated it but I nobody ever reported it to the authorities.(Some of the signs are controlling your money,space,sex name it,jealousy,separating you from your friends and family,belittling,comparing you to others,lowering your self-esteem,spying on you,disrespectful,take your glory,physical,sexual,mental,psychological and financial abuse to name a few.Her late mom helped her to escaped and remarried.Now I advice my girls to look well b4 marriage.Pray,study the partner over time and marry your friend.I married a pretender,deceiver because I rushed into marriage.The courtship was very short.He was very clever so I didn’t see the signs,I was very ignorant of most of the signs.Never raises voice or finger on me throughout the short period of courtship.The beatings started after my first child.The church stopped me several times from walking out of the abused relationship.I thank God I am still alive and still in a living church where divorce is a no no but when one’s life is in danger,I opt out for separation though not by design it was divine intervention.I pray for my girls never to make the same mistake I made.I think pastors should stop telling their congregation to stay in abusive relationships and be praying(that’s my opinion)When one’s life in danger,we should advocate for separation and be praying for God’s intervention.It’s not God’s will for anyone to die in an abusive relationship period.#scripture

Hmmm Neze my love for you gave me the courage to watch this video. This reminded me my childhood I wept my life this morning. I am glad my mum made it alive with her only properties "US" her five children. 4boys and me the only girl. Osinachi's story is not far from mine, the only difference is that she is not alive to tell her story; my mum is😭. I thanked my mother this morning for choosing to live for us. I can not imagine what her children will be feeling right now. Women pls in any dating or courtship a man raises his voice becareful it a sign, talk of a slap; just one slap pls take a walk.... infact RUN asap because if you blind your eyes and enter that marriage, is either dead or alive. I was going to join Facebook for the first time in my life but hence I was able to refrain I thank God for people like you that speaks with much wisdom and grace. Here is my submission: The entire General Overseers in Nigeria need to have an urgent conference to rethink and learn how to save the sheep under their care from death and early grave. One thing is for them to preach against violence in the open but truthfully when you speak with then on a one to one approach , what really is their true counsel.
