Thanks man! There's a RUclips video for everything. The tension is tight on the latch if you're trying this so keep in mind you need to leverage that latch on the hook. I couldn't get it the first time. But studied this video and was able to spring the latch.
This is why I love youtube. I have a 2010 Honda Ridgeline, has Honda outsourced their plastic components to Walmart? 90% of the plastic clips under my truck have broke on their own and needed replacement. Opened up the hood, lifted the bar that holds the hood open and snap breaks the clip that holds it in place so I had to replace that. I unclipped a blank cover on my dash and low and behold it breaks. Put a big cup in the cup holder and all but 2 of the cup holding fingers break (Honda seems to use foam fingers in the cup holder... like foam can handle repeated bending over decades vs. rubber), and now my glovebox won't open and I heard you say "It's just a plastic piece that keeps the glove box working and it snapped"... that's all I needed to hear to know that's what my issue is. Thanks, for telling us how to open it when it's broken as I need to get in there.
Thank you so much for this video! I am not sure why it took so long for me to find this..my glove compartment has been jammed shut for 8 months! and I have searched youtube dozens of times.....RoughRiders Rock! :)
Thank you, my 2010 Pilot just did this, pushed the glove box door and snap, I actually took the door off and found the black "D" latch in the box and reattached it, Thanks
@rileyjacktodd - I hope the vid helps! I don't know why Honda would use a plastic arm in the latch. A metal one would have held up more to the rough abuse and treatment one puts on his or her glove box.... ?

great video... I need to do this on my Altima... I have no idea where to start... tried to pry it open with a screwdriver no luck yet
Thanks for making this. By watching I was able to unlock my glove box in my civic. My issue was a busted spring.
