- We start off the New Year reviewing my friend Brandon's Twin Turbo 350z! I hop in the 2004 Nissan and give you my impressions of my first time ever driving a boosted VQ motor. This car was modified well, it felt very strong and durable and didn't feel as though it cut corners to get the result it finally ended up with. Import Tuner actually did a year long torture test with a bolt turbo kit for the Z. They put an incredible amount of miles on the Z and did some research and determined that the Z and it's VQ motor were "Over engineered" and stated that the Z was built so strong, that little modification beyond the bolt on kit would be needed and that the Z could handle high boost over long periods of time. And the guys drove the crap out of it.
The 350z is honestly to me one of the best cars I've ever driven that is STOCK. Everything feels nice about it from the right amount of power where you can go fast but not fast enough that you'd get yourself in trouble (but you can do it if you want) and the handling is very nice. The stock ride hight is low enough where it looks good and can go over speed bumps. It also sounds good with stock exhaust! Overall I would definitely buy this car because they're not that pricey used ($8,000-13,000 depending on mileage and year). Everyone should at least drive a Z once.

NIce vid, 350z owner myself. The HR (2007+) models have much lighter steering than the previous one. Love turbo system noises but the feel of the NA is so awesome in the VQs. I think I will end up with twins on mine.

You're totally right about the fact that your turbo car doesn't have to be fast lol, I have a boosted Sentra and its just awesome hearing the turbo spool & Bov. Not to mention the priceless look you get from people as you cruise down the road.
