Here is a bit of advice for doing 5 star raids. Try to find them in your own world and do them alone, except for Ditto, or really gimmick based mons. The reason is fairly simple: Your teammates are weak and that is awesome. You do not get punished harshly if a teammate dies, and the teammates will not get the Pokémon to go into shield mode early. So you can just sit there for 5 rounds, buff/debuff the enemy and then 1 shot it, instead of trying to slowly wittle down that awful Tera shield.
Edit: For the Ditto thing. If you find a Ditto raid, then always use your own Ditto and do the raid online. Ditto can only transform into the Pokémon of the original world that the raid is from. So if transforms and Ditto is the origin Pokémon, it can only use transform and the other 3 can wail on it. Never use a good Pokémon if you are the one who has the Ditto den.
Edit: Apparently the Ditto thing is inconsistent, so try it for yourself, see if it works. If it doesn’t then go back to normal strats.

6 star raids are easy IF you got the right pokemon.
For example you can solo some 6 star raids with Ghouldengo (Nasty Plot, Metal Sound, Recover, Steel Beam). Yes i tried it and it works nicely, though not on all of them, but some you can cheese solo with it and it will be easier then with other people pokemon fainting.
I also recommend pokemon with abilities that give extra immunities such as Flash Fire/Well-Baked Body, Earth Eater/Levitate, Lightingrod/Volt Absorb, Water Absorb/Storm Drain/Dry Skin, Sap Sipper and utilizing pokemon type immunities (ground, steel, normal, ghost, fairy, dark).
For example i can solo Water tribe Tauros in my Scarlet game with just Gastrodon (Chilling Water, Recover, Muddy Water, Earth Power (note: for some reason the blue Gastrodon i captured couldn't get Earth Power from memory, even though it should have learn it by lvl up so i had to spend TM for it, but w/e guess another bug in the game code)). And it doesn't matter what tera type the Tauros have, it will usually be able only to hit me with Close Combat, wich reduces his own defenses, and even if i dont have STAB against his tera type, i get random boost with Storm Drain whenever it uses water move on me + defensive drops he does to himself combined with Chilling Water reducing his att power and i gradually become stronger while he gradually become weaker and i get easy wins this way).
Gastrodon is basically super good againt any water type tera raids, though if its Water Absorb Vaporeon, i would need different movepool.
As for 6 star Amoonguss i also solo it but with my Vital Spirit Annihilate who carry Metronome (Screech, Poison Jab (it has poison tera type), Drain Punch and Rage Fist). I just had 2 amoongus 2x in a row while watching this video and both i soloed. Yes they were 6 star raids and it was faster for me then waiting 5 minutes for a chance for a desired raid to appear at random and then hoping that i will get in.
So my advice: simply solo those 6 star raid dens with the right pokemon that completly counters the enemy. If it's not possible, then ye, go match with some people online, it does help if they use brain and use moves that decrease enemy defenses.
However be wary that some hidden abilities that certain pokemon might have in the dens may bounce back those moves (Mirror Armor Corviknight for example) or may ignore your allies boosts (Unaware ability for example on Clodsire or Dondozo (normal ability but it might have it)). Knowing this i bring my Skill Swap pokemon to the team (I use Tinkaton because it has great type for most encounters) and i play a support role (turn 1 i get rid of enemy ability, then i use cheers and if i got time i then use either Sword Dance before attacking or straight up attack - you can use Rock Smash to decrease enemy defenses even if they are shielded or drop their attack potentially with Play Rough).
So its really up to you to prepare a solid little army of pokemon that you could use for various scenarios.
As for people bringing Perrserker... if you never used it before.... please don't bring it. Many people doesn't even have it's hidden ability unlocked via Ability Patch and they think they will make it work.
And please note to bring pokemon that won't take supereffective hits from the enemy's regular typing because it WILL be using those moves. Ignore it's tera type because in most cases they will not even have Tera Blast move (it's a chance that they might use it, but you can guarantee they will use their regural STAB). I am saying this because i am tired of people brining fightng types against things like Girafarig who clearly has psychic STAB and WILL destroy you easily even if its tera type was dark, rock or normal.
In most cases reducing enemy defenses by 4~6 stages and buffing yourself with Belly Drum for example will most likely work AS LONG AS one of the people uses brain and use defensive cheer turn 1 and heal allies up on turn 2. You dont have to be the star of the show with big dps that one shots. Be the star who keep team alive so they can kill it for you. If all 4 people use belly drums turn 1, chances are one or more of them will die right away.
Defenses up first and keep at least 1 defense cheer ready as back up after the boss removes "abilities and stat changes" from you and your allies.
Hope these informations help you guys because imo 6 star raids are not hard if you are prepared properly and know what to do when.

This was pretty interesting (I love seeing the numbers)! There were just two minor things I was wondering about:
    3:07 Probabilty(getting at least 1 salty HM) = Probabilty(getting at least 1 salty HM | being in a raid that gives salty HM) * P(being in a raid that gives salty HM) = 24.308% * 20/99 = 4.911% = 4.911/100 = 1/20.36 (it would just be a bit closer to 1 every 20 raids). Did I get that right?
Also (this might be too much detail, but I thought it would be interesting to point it out), the relevant equation here is the law of total probability, which states that for any events A and B we have P(A) = P(A∩B) + P(A∩B^c) (where ∩ is the intersection and B^c is the complement of B). If we define A = getting at least 1 salty HM and B = being in a raid that gives salty HM (which makes B^c = *not* being in a raid that gives salty HM), the probability we want is (also using the fact that P(A∩B) = P(A|B) P(B), where P(A|B) means "the probability of A assuming that B happens" ):
    P(A) = P(A∩B) + P(A∩B^c) = P(A|B) P(B) + P(A|B^c) P(B^c) = P(A|B) P(B) (because P(A|B^c) = P (getting at least 1 salty HM | *not* being in a raid that gives salty HM ) = 0). That's why we can just ignore the right side of the sum in the previous calculations.
2:00, 2:49, 4:16, 4:41, 5:26 Does every Pokémon has the same probability of showing up in a raid (it's a reasonable assumption, but I'm just not sure of it)? If so, everything checks out. If not, that would change how we compute P(being in a raid that gives the HM we want).

Personally with 6 stars being the only marked raid on a map and thiers only a handful of 5 star raids on any given map meaning youd have to search literally all of them to be sure I really only search 6 stars.
I can see why you'd say only 5 stars are worth it for the average player but I Personally think until 5 stars are identifiable on the map its more efficient to refresh 6 stars and find a way to solo it before turning over every raid on a map hoping to find the right mon and hoping it drops enough herba to be worth the effort.

6* raids can be pretty easily soloed with something like Gholdengo or Iron Hands. For Gholdengo: Nasty Plot 3 times, Metal Sound 3 times, recover as needed and then Hex/Steel Beam depending on what you're fighting. For Iron Hands (holding Sitrus Berry), Belly Drum and then Close Combat.

The hardest part of 6* online raid battles is joining them lol. To flat out say to avoid 6* raids is wrong. Not all 6* raids are made equal. Avoid annihilape and dragons. Target flying, steel and grass types bc pokemons like Skeledrige (torch song), iron hands and Miraidon are great counters. And lastly, for the love of god, use the shell bell. Good luck farming these things.

I don't understand the struggle with these raids. I've soloed a few sixes now too with no problems. I think most people aren't aware of how cheering works. It's a pretty big buff for the go all out, and the heal one also heals status like if you've been sleeped. Just max out your legendary's EVs, IVs and give it a proper nature, level it to 100, give it a good held item and a wide variety of moves, and make sure you're fighting dens that you can beat with a super effective hit on the TERA type. Not the regular type. That's irrelevant. Have like 3-4 fully trained level 100 mons that cover a wide variety of types. For the occasional raid that you lose because the AI isn't doing helpful things, try it online. But imo, solo is easier because when your teammates die, you don't lose time and the AI always keeps up defensive cheers automatically.
