I love your videos! I'm preparing to make the move from Salt Lake City to Alexandria to live with my new husband. I love Egypt but am nervous. Though of course Alex is different than New Cairo, your videos help me feel a lot better. Thanks :) Do you have any recommendations for where/who from to learn Egyptian Arabic?

Hey! My family is wanting to move to Cairo in the next few months. Can you please recommend some affordable and great international schools?

Unfortunately those are not two adjectives that usually go together in Egypt with regards to school. Be sure to check out my video on schools. Quality education is expensive here.

Where are you from originally? Also, Egypt has a shady history of government arrests and scandals of such. Do you recommend New Cairo for foreigners and can you get by without Arabic? Villas are very cheap in New Cairo.

Originally from South Carolina. You can get by, but Maadi is best if you don’t have any Arabic. Right now renting or buying a villa in New Cairo is really expensive.

@@layla302 Not really, I saw villas being booked for 300k USD compared to Ontario that is a literal bargain.

@@MCWhiffles you have 300k cash to buy? They don’t do mortgages here. 😂 Renting a small villa here is is starting at $1200 a month when the average expat salary is $3000 a month. That’s a lot.

@@layla302 My main concern tbh wouldn't be price, its more Egypt as a place socially, but yes on a domestic basis that's very expensive.
