Daaaaaang, my apologies for those who tuned into the premiere and it freezing for everyone like 1 second in! It eventually got chugging along (kinda like the bass boats I find myself in😂) and the premiere continued on. BUT, as promised during the live chat, we'll get a solid giveaway in the near future for all to express my gratitude in essentially how awesome this community is😎
Greg I'd like to know if you could pass something on the coach for me please?? I believe the fishing page was a originally from Dublin ireland?? Anyways I closed the question to the whole board. Since coach didn't show up at Clear Lake for the yakovac bass last tournament... what should his punishment be?? I got the same outstanding and overwhelming answer from 96.7 percent of the people on the board...... next year opening tournament that you're all fishing together at??? After he's all done it up in his dog to be out on the water fishing all day??? He has to put out there a bright yellow or a bright red g-string on over top of whatever clothes he's got on, LOL LOL LOL.. they also said overwhelmingly.. Sarah put out your PayPal account and know each send you one penny, lol lol... they voted coach you lost and now you got to wear the g-string, LOL LOL
@@NickJones-k4g this👆🏼... And also Greg, we feel your same frustration with you any time you lose a fish. Or last season when you pull off all the last minute heroics winning AOY.. And the fact, have never heard you ask for Sub Like Follow hit the Bell etc.. Basically Thank You Sir!
this was a great live chat and video premiere.. I love it that Greg acknowledges everyone, and responds to almost all comments.. not many content providers do that .. he must not get but 5 min sleep at night.. busy man, live his stuff. much respect!!
Whats awesome is that the Titan 10.5 held up great in the conditions (I'm still trying to decide on a 10.5 vs 12.5) but I'm curious as to why you decided against bringing out the 12.5 for this trip? Thanks for the video Greg!
The wind was brutal out there! Started YAB this year and my goal was to beat you atleast 1 tournament....the one I did it on got me into this one. Ended day 1 15th with a 7lber for first fish. Been waiting for this vid since the tourney! No disrespect I learned a ton about bass fishing watching you over the last 4 years :)
almost 100" consistently in all your 1 day tournaments, I cant even imagine what numbers you would pull in a month long tournament.. ! Great stuff Greg.!
Big bass on the backside of a windblown point on an isolated piece of wood? Seems like exactly where that fish should have been, right? You fish that lake more than I do though so you would know better than me. Great video as usual Greg!
@@GregBlanchardFishing dont you know it. Just waiting for yall to come fish a tournament back in the southern US, hope to get to fish against you one day man.
It seems like the fishing has turned on everywhere in the last few weeks...I know people from all over the country that have been killing it! Love the tournament vids, i'm excited to see how it plays out.
As always love your vids been watching for a bit cant wait to get my yak me and my son watch u alot,,keep catching them toads in cali ,,,but u need to come here to east texas to fork catch some big texas bass brother
great video. you always amaze me with your composure. if i lost that many potentially big fish it would have torn me apart. You’re always a great role model for younger anglers like me.
Nice job Greg ,I love Clearlake over 100 guy's on the water and you couldn't even tell lol. Good to see mist of the crew there. I really think you guy's should have done the derby to , even if everybody wasn't there oh well tough luck lol. Thanks for taking us along Greg 👍
you know Greg you should do a interview style video of all your close friends in your group, asking them how yall met, a little about their background and life, their fishing career, goals and plans, and how they feel about the competing against you and other anglers. just an idea since you guys are so close, i see this as a tribute video almost for all the guys that make your videos great.
i like it! not sure if you're around norcal but going to try to get the entire crew together for ISE in Sacramento in January for a big meetup. might have to plan a shoot like that for that weekend
@GregBlanchardFishing I wish I was there I'm watching you from oklahoma lol. Keep doing everything you do man. You have lots of supporters that love your content.
Also damn close call on that fish hitting the controls to the motor! Even though a lot of fish were lost and things seemed to just happen tournament day, overall still a positive day!
Man soda Bay is always good this time of year. Norman NXS in Chili bowl around the islands and an LV500 near the paddle boat, marina, and all down the rocks along soda Bay Rd and then back to the cove
Man Obedie doesn't look like he's aged a day since I first watched his Rippn Lipps videos well over a decade ago. Must be so cool to hang out with someone that brings the good vibes like that!
I can’t believe I did not watch this video until today, Greg wow how can I miss the most inspirational west coast angler going for the championship! Yes sir you tell Mike I remember every episode I watched on TV i can remember that song over and over LOL! It’s so great to see the crew together this is a family you miss and want to see out on the water! Greg this is definitely a learning moment why do you out do much blame on yourself when you flip into this grass set the hook on a fish and pull as hard as you can to pull the fish out and it comes off please advise what did you need to do differently to haul that big fish in? You’re really catching the right ones these fish seem to draw to you an amazing first day 5 fish bag! This is what really draws me closer with inspiration when watching your videos! you are such a great competitor angler your knowledge on the water is at such a higher lever so dialed in and know your game can’t wait to see the conclusion of this one tight lines take care and God bless!
We fished clear lake a couple of years ago. The water was low. We stayed at the campground in kelseyville. We went across the lake to hwy 20 where we caught fish along the docks there. The wind came up causing white caps so we headed towards the east end where it narrows then we cut back across along the banks. It was a little scary but we was very cautious.
I think those reeds are thin enough to switch to 20ish fluro for touch more stretch. But more importantly, if I am losing fish in reeds like that, I think the key to either switch to an ewg hook or downsize the hook. I think those straight shanks punch thru the mouth, and the pointy sticking out of the mouth snags the reed while the fish is hooked, and you are trying to pull that face thru the cover with the hook point pointing the direction you are pulling. Ewg will tuck that point inward.
I'm not sure if Greg is sponsored by ABU GARCIA, BERKLY. Companies should be lining up to get with Greg. I started fishing using Abu Garcia . When 13 Fishing came out I switched to it. But because I see Greg using Abu Garcia I now own a couple of Abu Garcia combos.
Brother, I'll never understand how fish come off like that! Sometimes you can do everything right and they still pop off. For me it'll happen in stretches. I'll have a bad day, week, month where it seems I'm just losing more fish, then I won't lose any for months. Really makes you question everything you're doing lol
When flipping grass like that, the technique is to get them in the boat as fast as possible. They need to come up and over the grass so your presentation should be as vertical as possible Try using an EWG hook they get hung up way less
Dang man you should have tried a buzzbait or plopper down those reed lines, i remember you crushing them on a choppo at clear lake doing the same things a few years ago.
Reminds me of decades of fishing trips to Lake Ontario for smallmouth. Wonder in those reeds you got a poor angle to set the hook and pull those fish out by sitting down.
Greg did you just start a new classification for bass caught on clear lake?? When the only best you were catching on clear lake, come from the four corners on clear lake????? You can now call them bluegill bass, LOL LOL good idea Greg👍👍
Think you might upgrade to a 7'11" XH for the next time you're flipping that stuff? It might launch the little ones to the moon but maybe help guide the bigger ones out in the right direction
So when there is a double tournament like this, how does this work? All fish caught u can take a photo and submit to both tournaments? Finally some more consistent big fish 17+inches versus 12-17,inches. I wish to fish this lake some day, those bit cats look tasty 😋😅
We have a house on the lake . Which is better for fish: tules or rotting docks? Asking for a neighbor with an ugly rotting dock😮! We really enjoy seeing the kayak fishermen out on the lake.
Hey Greg. Just curious as to why you chose your Titan X 10.5 instead of the 12.5 for this tournament on this lake with the conditions. I’m torn between these 2 kayaks. Just wondering if you’re starting to realize the 10.5 is where it’s at after having the 12.5 for a little while now.
I don't have much experience with kayak fishing, so maybe it's an angle thing or setting the hook while sitting thing or some other reason..but I feel like you lose so many fish...lol.

Yak positioning on those cattails is critical in increasing your bite to landing ratio.
24:23 damn for as much as Greg fishes he got some white legs 😂
Just a thought but as many fish lost in those tulies flippin. A heavier rod to horse em out would help that issue

Anyone know , maybe Greg :), what the cart in the garage being used as a rigging / staging / loading station is ?
hey Greg ! what sites do you use to enter into the tournaments ?
After that Ultra in the opening scene, I was going to ask where the Sierra Nevada is at?
Hey Greg do you have any information on that Air BnB?

woohooo 1 hour
Mike catches 8lb+ monster...kicks back in a Slayer shirt!
What happened to the 360 and two graph set up?
What net? I always check description but it’s never there.
Why aren't you using the Titan 12.5?
You were making me mad, the way you were netting some of those fish. Reed fish - acceptable losses. It happens. Can’t wait to see Days 2 & 3
I said 7… 8.17 is a life time fish …one day I hope I hook a 8lb bass and it’s on the rod prepared for it
Where did you eat at the first restaurant?
