Eric B is the DJ...Rakim is "the" God Emcee..He was flowing like this in 1986!!..and every Emcee after he came out had to change their way of rhyming.
2 ways to look at Hip Hop...(Before Rakim) and (After Rakim) on Biblical proportions is the reason he was dubbed the God ..thats why Nas is called Gods Son because He was destined to be Rakims successor...besides Nas had a birds eye view because he was at the studio when he was a kid watching Rakim at his studio sessions by way of Large Professor as he was the producer of most of Let the Rhythm album in 1990 4 years before Nas's debut.
Everything you said is true as for the Let The Rhythm Hit Em album, Large pro did end up finishing some beats that was started by another producer name Paul C who passed away back in 89, that took Large Pro under his wing. Rakim produced a couple tracks on the album like No Omega, I believe Mahagony,Paul C fully produced , In The Ghetto, Run For Cover and Untouchables. Large Pro did Let The Rhythm Hit Em, Step Back. I'm not too sure about the other 2 or 3 tracks that I didn't mentioned off the album.
Nas is a facsimile of Rakim without the higher level wordplay 🤔
In my opinion Rakim is greatest rapper that ever lived his word play was second to none.
Eric B is the DJ and Rakim is on the mic. The G.O.A.T.
Microphone Fiend 🔥🔥🔥
After 12 I'm worst then a gremlin/feed me hip hop and I start tremblin.
Great reaction my dude!!🎤 u started of the right way with this reaction of Ra. Here’s are some more reactions of Rakim u should consider🎤
Follow the leader
I ain’t no joke
The Punisher
Move the crowd
As the rhyme goes on
Don’t sweat the technique
Kick along
The 18th letter
The saga begins
Eric b for President
Nice reaction. That flow is why he is called the God MC. It's the style that ushered in a new age of MC. There were others of course, but Rakim, was at the top of the list.
If you want more Eric B and Rakim, you should listen to, "Juice - Know the ledge", "Lyrics of Fury", "Mahogany", "Follow the leader", and "Casualties of War" Those 5 tracks will give you the full spectrum Rakim's flow and lyricism.
And don't sleep on the production from Eric B. His beats are just as integral to the songs. They provided the perfect wave for Rakim to ride. ✌🏾
Believe it or not Rakim did a majority of those beats and production along with some of the scratches like on musical massacre off the Follow The Leader album. Eric B might have laid some sounds down and did some production duty here and there but he was mostly the business man of the group. They had some outside producers that contributed but it was Ra that did a good 80-90% of the production for their albums. Crazy right?
RAKIM IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE LYRICIST OF ALL TIME AND CURSED HOW MANY TIMES? 1
If Rakim was a fashion designer, his suits wouldn't have a stitch out of place. Seamless flow, metaphysical punchlines, all sown perfectly together, sharp as a razor and full bodied as a fine wine. Many may follow, but the leader leads. Rakim is the jewel in the crown of Hip- Hop👑
Rakim is responsible for changing the way emcees flow in hip hop. Before him, everybody still kinda had that Furious Five flow.

RAKIM LYRICS OF FURY
Yes! This. Open that brain. Nothing in current year holds a candle to Rakim the God
Ra is the GOAT!I know that that's a lie....Top 15?How about Top 2 or 3?
He's the GOAT 🐐
That's you opinion
THE GOAT!
@@keastonwright5234it’s pure facts,,,he’s not cursing not talking about killing people no drugs,,,pure bars and lyrics,,,,no nigga words,,,,Real talk and facts,,,Rakim is the best period
The flow is what separates Rakim from everyone else.
The phrase,"make her feel older," means she feels wiser! The older you get the wiser.
before Nas's debut dropped the media dubbed Nas (the 2nd coming of Rakim) after Nas blew up 2 albums in he dubbed himself Godson paying homage to Ra.
It was the late 80’s early 90’s in it’s prime. Us 80’s kids had the time of our life back then not gonna see them days no more
@Glitcher Bro23 Yesss! Best reaction on this dope ass song, um the dude who recommended this song on the 18th letter comment section
Should check out “the mystery “ & “in the ghetto “ another mind blowing tracks recorded
Rakim is the 🐐
Rakim is #1 on most top 10 list
this album is golden
💯
Rakim is the MC...Eric B is the DJ...from late 80's to early 90's....and the flow is definitely unmatched even today cuz it's not the same game now unfortunately...and he don't curse either
They are a part of the foundation of Hip Hop...if he ain't one of your favorite rappers...u just don't know..Ask Em...Rakim is the/a GOAT... 1
Rakim is the emcee, Eric B is the DJ 👍
U funny af...Rakim is Da 🐐🐐🐐
They called Rakim flow "WATER "
HIS FLOW IS JUST LIQUID. FLOWS LIKE WATER
He made this drumbeat
I love the reaction Kid!!🔥🔥🔥🚒
🐐
Eric B and Rakim were the first rappers signed to a million dollar contract...Eric B is the DJ, before Rakim really DJs were the main reason folk came to concerts, Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Whoduni boasted about Grand Master Dee, Doogie Fresh had Chill Will and Barry B, LL had Cut Creator, Ice T on Reckless did nothing but talk about DJ Scratch, Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5, Djs used to get Top Billing over the rappers in early hip hop, even though Eric B was billed over Ra, we all knew who was the power behind Eric B and Rakim, the lyricist was.
I don't think the song is about the video. The video just seem like a movie backdrop to me. It's about them saving a girl who got addicted to crack.
The R is the godfather of flow.Check out Guru from Gangstarr. His flow is real nice too.Old school east coast dudes know whats up.By the way Eric B is the DJ.
With Guru it was the mostly the voice pun intended and he had a pretty decent flow but Rakim is a combination of voice, flow, wordplay metaphors. Rakim is one of the illest to pick up a microphone.
You had me cracking up with some of your observations.😂 but I agree with your assessment. Even back in the days when they came out,ppl couldn't tell who was Rakim and Eric B before ppl saw who they were.
Holy are you by Rakim
Its from the 80s bro....i think 88 or 89
Eric B is the DJ
Rakim is to rap what Tracy-168 was to graffiti.
A YO.. ME AND ERIC AND RAKIM ARE DYING / AT YA HONESTY AS TO WHICH IS WHICH...THEY APPLICATIE THE LUV...AND YA CHANNEL ..PEACE FROM THE PAID IN FULL FAMILY ...FED.D
