- Man, is it nice to get out while we've been quarantined for what seems like FOR-E-VER (name that movie). I've had this lead on my desk for months now and I took the opportunity to fly to Billings, Montana and drive 3 hours into the middle of nowhere, with zero cell service and two incredible classic trucks.

YES, I know today is supposed to be Coffee Walk - BUT - I was just so excited about this content that I couldn't wait another minute. So we will resume our normal scheduled programming next Friday, see you then!

Finding one truck like that with low miles and in that condition is amazing. Finding two like that in the same place is absolutely incredible.
I'm drooling over that dually. That is setup perfectly. What a beautiful truck.
Makes me want to be born in 1970 so i can live in the 80’s- i am absolutely obsessed with that time. these made me tear up because I’m so used to seeing them broken down and in terrible condition, these have literally everything original in them. What a find- wow
I'm so happy I clicked on this. Amazing, beautiful trucks. That dually just screams American west to me. Please don't modify the looks of them. They are perfect and clean just the way they are.
instablaster
Cant wait to see them cleaned up and running.
It's very easy restoration is too much fun
You mean on Barrett Jackson...
@The Truth about Africa hurts stay in Africa
@@dieseldabz7104 i have restored lots of vehicles with my friends back in 04 you could buy a square box for a decent price now they are very expensive it's a fun truck to work on i worked on a 77 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 And a 81 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 84 Chevrolet k5 Blazer lots of fun And a 81 Z28 Camaro it was a awesome project And my buddy got lots of speeding tickets with it
Those are two absolute gems!! Everything about them is just....Perfect. Period. (IMHO). LOL.
What a time capsule. I'm amazed at how good they look.
No road salt helps tremendously
@@dieseldabz7104 where they live the people don't bother with road salt. You learn to drive on ice and snow or you walk.
Love that generation. My Dad had a 1975 Suburban with barn doors; we used it as a support vehicle for the race team.
That generation brings back memories. My father had a 74 3/4 ton 454 Suburban. We went everywhere in it. Super reliable, never stranded us. Love to find a super clean low mile one like that Blazer. Great true American trucks.
I am so freaking jealous what a great find. Practically in mint condition.
That blazer is awesome!
I have never been more jealous of anyone. I will not sleep tonight knowing I missed that deal on my dream trucks.
The best 21 minutes 6 seconds that I've spent today 😀, the trucks look amazing 🚚🚛.
Great adventure, thanks for taking me along
Best historical video ever Dennis!!! Thanks for making it.
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you watching
Dennis you have me hooked on Coffee Walk!!
How do we find out when they are going to be up for sale
You need a nice picture of the 2 trucks loaded up ready to go..
What a WOW moment 👏
That extended cab dually is the Cadillac of square bodys
It's a crew cab
You know what I mean.
Back when the square bodies was made it was hard to find an extended or even a crew cab let alone a four-wheel drive cuz most two trucks back then were two wheel drive
Me even a blind squirrel can find a nut Chevy's few nuts that n Corvettes and few of Camaro n fire birds.
@@Jurgy777ml
Dennis, you forgot to say THE HOLY GRAIL OF TRUCKS lol
Dennis’s knowledge of everything with a motor and wheels never ceases to amaze me.
I hope this comment was dry humor....
Cranking them with old fuel like that could have stuck the valves and bent the pushrods. Also he said the GMC is the heavy duty version of the Chevy, which is a myth.
My grandfather had that exact K5, color and all. Bought new in Santa Barbara, CA in 1974. This brought back some great memories for me, man. Thanks for sharing!
Spent some time as a firefighter at Deer Lodge just outside of Anaconda. It’s beautiful country. Montana where men are men and sheep are scared.
Ya you'd know🐐
Why are the sheep scared of the men in Montana 😳
@@kurtw6062, I'd be more ready to believe the sheep would be more scared, actually outright terrified, in Mexifornia!
@@kurtw6062 Because men in Montana know how to make a ewe turn. That's why they wear velcro on the palms of their hands.
@@kurtw6062 That is something you and your parents should discuss little man. It will give you the answer to the question you have had ever since you walked in on mommy and daddy when mom was in bed on her hands and knees and dad was kneeling right behind bumping into her like he was trying to knock her over.
Amazing Dennis. The K5 looks straight out of Jaws!
still think those k5's are some of the best looking rides out there. The crew cab is great looking ride also.
Now thats LIVING,i bet the sky at night is AMAZING without any light pollution.
Amazing condition, rare options and the racing history, great find.
Absolutely beautiful trucks right there! My all time favorite body style of GM trucks, the ol square body. You hit pay dirt right there, bud. Great find!!!
Wow, incredible. One of the best episodes you've shown. Keep one, flip one or maybe keep both.
Tom C I’d keep the dually
Keep them both. Won't find two like that again. Especially the Blazer, I'd give up an essential body part for that one.
@@hornetbrown - You're 100% correct, I have a 74 K5 and I sure wish it was in that condition.
@@Rattlerjake1 Make it! All the parts you need are available all over the internet and parts stores.
The Crew Cab would make a great hauling ass truck Great for Barn Hunting with 454 4 speed, it would pull some good old cars back home. We had a 427 stock engine pushing 375hp go out of the factory with headers, a high rise intake with duel, Carter competion carbs in a 72 Chevy Vega. We had to go to a Full Frame and tube out. For the 12 bolt possy. It would have pulled a large trailer and 4 cars.
How in the world does someone have perfect trucks just sitting in their garage for 30 years?
He raced Top+Fuel Funny Car's So #1) I'm sure he didn't need the money to sell it cheaply, and #2) He understood the Value of 1 looking after a vehicle 2 he knew the longer he kept it, in as mint condition as he could, the very wanted older trucks would be worth more than what a Bank would give him on the interest on the same as the vehicle was worth when he put it away. That is why, One can find these types of Trucks in a barn
built in the tesla factory?
Retards in pop 200 Montana inbreeding undoubtedly was also a factor along with assuming a Chevy is a perfect automobile should be proof of all the above.
Beats me I just don't understand .
@@rancedodd Well Chevy's rarely run for 2 years let alone 30 so Sherlock Holmes think it though.
I had a 73 Blazer with matching posies from the factory and an in-dash tach. I purchased it from the original owner. I sold it to a friend.
I bought it back 2 years later.
it had locking hubs, skid plates,
Stock height with overload Springs.
CB, extra five gallon gas can,
Receiver hitch, a machete and a cast iron skillet. best four-wheel drive I have ever owned. Michelin all-terrain radials on it. The truck was set up by an old man. Basically stock.
Special order. I had to sell it a second time. We were pregnant.
Man, you guys are fuel injection spoiled! I could have had both of those running in a minute. Love those rides! Thanks for sharing!!💥💥👋🙏🙏❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
All they had to do was jump the neutral safety switch if equipped put trans in gear and drove them around using the starter.
@@slumpnmyrump4986 clutch safety switch
What I like about Dennis he is always fare with people he doesn't try to rip people off by winning about car prices
So, you're saying you know what he paid for them? How do you know he didn't low ball the guy to start with?
You mean like Rollins? 🤣🤣🤣
Write what you mean.
BULLSHIT! Dude takes advantage of people all the time..
he doesnt say what he paid for them. looks like a snake to me
That 1974 K5 is my dream truck
When I was a kid in Las Vegas. My best friend's dad had a brand new blazer just like that . We would take it out to the desert when his dad left town for business LOL good times!!
He ordered that dually 6 months after I was born....it's in better shape than me. Haha
These are my two favorite finds. Ever! That big block 4 speed is amazing!
WOW!!! Hellava find!! 💚🖤💚🤘🤘
I was watching this one tv but had to take my phone and congratulate you on these two wonderful time capsules, man these are keepers!
“Score” a couple of real beauties.
I'm glad to see that they opened up the airport for ya!
Really enjoyed the experience just like we were there. Incredible find Dennis.
Glad theses two trucks are in great hands . Btw Billing’s Montana is beautiful
This brings back memories and makes me miss my old 1984 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4... I bought it used with 6000 miles on it. I loved that truck
They're both like new. I can't believe they just sat in a garage. Cool video, thanks
Exotics,1 off's,Muscle cars, etc etc..THIS is now my favorite! Just crazy cool !!!
West coast mirrors and twin CB antennas. What a time capsule!
It's amazing to me that old square body trucks are subjects of barn finds amongst things like Shelby's and Corvettes. Those things were less than worthless 15 years ago. Nice to see them getting their day.
It's like finding lost treasure I love it when theirs paperwork to go through.feels like a kid in a candy store James misses that feeling
Billings is so beautiful I can’t wait to go back
So cool. Those old trucks look even better as they get older vs new stuff.
Just amazing...If you made a wish-list of what you'd like to find, condition, mileage, rarity and then read it back to yourself, you'd be laughing... Yet another outstanding video...
OMG Dennis, I’d love to have that dually buddy!! That one brings back some really good memories from the mid 70’s when I was younger before I went into the military. If your going to sell the dually, I need to pull out all stops to try and buy that one buddy, omg I need that truck!!!!
I used to have a farm in Iowa and the address was 3304 Collins Ave and my lucky number is 13 also Dennis. Most folks are scared to death of it but 13 has always been good to me throughout my lifetime.
Great video Brother and beautiful trucks!!!!! Stay safe in your travels, the world can not afford to lose your knowledge base!
I said it before and I’ll say it again discovery needs to give you your own show ! !
Blazer had an axle truss. Another 70’s icon.
I don't even like Dually's but that one is the ducks guts!!!!
The Blazer is a dream come true!!!!
Both trucks have the perfect options to truly last a long long time!!!!
Luv the show. Watching from Australia . Stay safe in the U.S.
That K5 OMG ! That is amazing . You dam well know that if it was Richard both Truck would be rust buckets 🤔
Amazing how we get excited over metal and rubber and screws and bolt and glass and plastic and knobs and switches and bulbs and shifters and upholstery but we can't seem to get it together in the USA anymore. Lovely trucks enjoy cuz we can't take them home when they call us up to heaven.
Cool trucks . I like how he goes with the deal they’d agreed on . He doesn’t mind paying for good stuff .
Great find! You seem to be a genuine guy!
THAT DUALLY 🤤😍❤️
Two of the nicest chevy trucks I have ever seen.
Fantastic , wow two brand new classic trucks , the best of both worlds , well done 👍🏻 museum pieces indeed !
I've heard of barn-find,...but quonset hut-find..... Score! What a find! 😲
I’d love to see Dennis road test the 2 trucks and how they are with the great engines & manual gears 👍🏼
That Blazer would be my lottery win of a lifetime. Wow!
Two beautiful trucks with all the documentation you need with very low mileage on both !!! Major find !!! 👍👍👍
The Blazer should have Amityville Police on the door.
Jim week said! It's a carbon copy of Chief Brodys truck on the Vineyard I mean Amity.
Ya Ministry of Forestry in Canada used nothing more then the Blazers, except it it was an extended one, but that might have been a GMC The old Jimmy's were very popular too, up here in the Great White North lol
Damn. I love these videos!
Great find and a great video like always Dennis!!!
So upbeat, great to see someone who loves what they do. Thank you.
I bet that dually has 4.10 or maybe even 4.56 gearing in it which is why a gear vendor overdrive was installed. It looks like an 1980 since it has rectangular headlights on the older body style prior to the 1981 front clip updates.
Rock that Montana Truck find.... it was destiny “DC” 👍Thxs4sharing
Great episode Dennis. I look forward to every single one [beerclink]
There are old cars, and trucks everywhere in Montana. My dad, and I used to drive through some of the smaller towns, and check them out. I used to have a list of old cars/trucks we’d find. You’d be surprised with what’s sitting in, and behind old barns. I’ll never forget the mint, numbers matching, 64 Galaxy, and t-bird..
Dennis love watching you go thru cars, trucks your knowledge is impressive be healthy
I had a 75 k5 350 4speed in Yabba Gold. It was the toughest stock 4x4 I've ever owned.
Great finding. I know you’ll make them like new if not better again.
All he'll do is make them run, wash and wax and then flip for thousands in profit on Barrett Jackson.
Sounds like dieseldabz7 is little jealous
My dad worked on the truck line at the GM in Fremont CA plant back then and I worked at the Toyota / GM plant that it became in the 90's. My dad always said to check behind the door panels for bottles and cans or other possibly illegal things. Those were crazy days ! At that plant they would have hookers in vans in the parking lot !
That truck is a true gem.
Just retired from restoring cars after 37 years. Happy to just go back to my hobby of practicing law. After all that time, and dealing with so hundreds of snake oil salesman like this guy, I've heard "ultra rare" enough to last me another 50 years.
Yeah, law is so much more moral a vocation. Your job is state condoned criminal conversion.
@@BrianNavalinsky yep. Until you need one. But I'm sure you're so awesome, you can handle it yourself.
If people were honest the legal profession would be a fraction of the size it is.
Dennis U really need to come to SW Scotland & see how "beautiful" windfarms really are, basically a blot on such a fantastic landscape!!! Just can't agree with U, Soz
Mark Aitken we’ve got them all up and down the lakeshore where I am, I don’t think they are bad looking at all
yes but - tell me where, in Scotland, you drive 2000 miles with the curvature of the earth as your only sight? in some places, sure - it's a blight... out here.... there nothing followed by endless nothing. It's a place where the put curves in the interstate highways to keep people awake while driving... Europe has nothing like it.
Mark Aitken and @@Beandiptheredneck You need to watch Michael Moore's Planet of the Humans, its free right here on RUclips. It will wake you up to "green windmill farms".
@@stoneshrink you need to watch Michael Moore's Planet of the Humans, its free right here on RUclips. Very informative about "green windmill farms".
As a man with solar panels the green energy movement is destroying the planet faster than you can blink wind turbines have a lifespan of 20 years they never pay for themselves or the damage done to build and install them
Like two time capsules,in great condition and still with paper work, amazing find
Even during the whole world shutting down, Dennis is buying all the good barn finds left out there.... save some for the lil guy Dennis!!
God bless you boss I love you, your family. Living my dream.
Taking advantage of people's hard times since 1970!
wonder what he paid for them
Jim's How-to Videos ......Probably nothing.....Then he'll flip them.
A seller is a seller.
Sad that’s what I thought too!!
Didn’t even share a good story that’s dumb money for u
That K5 is a gem. Beautiful truck and a full removable top. Condition is supreme.
I drove a blue and white blazer like that in High School! So much fun!! Thanks again DC for saving these gems!
I've always put a bunch of fresh gas in the tank to start with, most people don't leave a full tank of gas when they park them.
rig up a 1 gal can next to the fuel pump. Saves alot of bother.
Back when I lived in Azle, a friend of ours bought a dually just like that brand new, 454, 4 speed, GV splitter. It was a regular cab though.
Any pictures my friend?!!
TornadoTJ I would like the regular cab even more than crew. These trucks are very long w/ crew and the full size bed.
Grew up in the 70s....in the upper midwest. Spent tons of time riding around in these square body Chevy/GMCs as they were the primary family car for many people....K5 Blazers, Suburbans...C/K trucks. We had two C/K trucks ourselves...a '75 C10 Step Side which we bought as a used truck and a '77 Scottsdale K10 short box. I wouldn't mind getting another one and dropping an LS in it.
Nice to see such well preserved trucks!
Both those trucks are beautys. What a find. I'd kill for that blazer. My dad had a 76. Loved that truck.
Am from Dallas would love to come see them in person.
Killin' it!
greetings from Germany.
Please more from this two awesome Trucks. Love it
Awesome finds Dennis 👍. Thanks for taking us along.
Getting lost is sometimes part of the adventure, too bad your so far away or I would definitely be interested in working for you.
The dually popping back through the carby, seems more like timing is out or a stuck or bent valve than 'bad gas'
Nope
My first thought was that the distributor timing is retarded. BBC valves seem somewhat prone to getting bound in the guides, if allowed to languish too long. The alarming sound to me was the snap coming around at regular intervals. Makes me think broken spring.
Stuck valve is what I was thinking with that backflash.
Outstanding that the trucks were found on “Collins St.”!!!!
Dennis,it's pleasure to watch yours video
worked at socal GM dealer as a parts man in college....75 was the last year if the full removable top in the blazer/jimmy line..78 on was a half top similar to the full size ford broncos of the era ....also GMC was a separate GM product line not heavier duty than a Chevy .....grilles and styling cues were different than a Chevy built on the same line..GVW,engine and drive-line options were the same ..the old joke was GMCs were built with lock washers where the Chevys were not
Exactly it's an old myth that GMC's were somehow better than chevys.
The dually is just the same as one i owned you could order them how you wanted . and all 454 engines had a 4 barrel carb.
look at the cab corner on the drivers side of the pickup .
It is a 3+3 cab.
Watching in Ireland love the show and all the history of the cars and trucks and tractors be safe and protected on the journeys 🇨🇮☘️
Wow you are 1 lucky SOB. That Blazer is frickin awesome. I had a college roommate that had a Blazer of that same vintage. It was an automatic but still brings back memories. What a find. Thanks for sharing!
