What would take more time, though? 50 Smithing from smelting ores from randomized monster drops, or 70 with a guaranteed rate from an ore vein? My instinct tells me the latter, but if there's an argument for the monster drops I'd hear you (or whoever) out. I was willing to get the 900 iron needed from thugs (1/32 drop) but that was when I only needed 30 smithing... 50 amplifies those odds significantly. It'll be a ridiculous grind either way, no doubt.
It's also worth noting that both the chunk to the west and to the south both give immediate access to a pickaxe, which would mean I'd need to get 70 through smelting mined ores eventually anyways.
Oh my god. The timing. My friends & I started (not extreme) chunk locked accounts around this time, one of my friends was locked to Edgeville and after going 4x drop rate dry on the knife drop, I asked Ash if there was a possibility for a knife spawn or adding it to the general shop in Edgeville.....In January 22....About a month after you started. They added it to the general store a week or two later.
Please keep this series up you are kek (what the kids say when something or someone is funny) and this is very enjoyable and brings great pleasure to certain parts of my brain.
edgeville... home... spent so much time with the minotaurs and the hill giants, the fishing, smelting thousands of iron ore. definitely one of the best areas as a f2p player
Duuuude that clue was absolutely bonkers good for you. Good luck on the series, I really like these chunk accounts, and I’m excited to see your progress
Man it’s super refreshing to see a new person to the extreme one chunk scene definitely my favorite kinda upload, also gotta say loved the intro gave me a j1mmy vibe 😄
Imagine getting a casket in your first chunklocked episode, on your first attempt, with it having 2 key upgrades. I hope this RNG doesn’t catch up to you.
bit of rough math on that easy clue completion: drop rate (man): 1/128 # of easy steps: 150 # of steps you can complete: 3 easy clue completion: 2-4 steps so, getting an easy step in your area: 1/6,400 getting avg number of easy steps in your area to complete clue (3): ~1/19,200 drop rate air staff easy clue: 1/36 total # of men killed to get air staff on avg: ~691,2000 for perspective, that would give you 93 base melee stats worth of xp conclusion: rip d spear rng
15:54 Actually seems like they might just have the same drop table as muggers. The common rope drop clued me in but I checked and muggers also have the 1 in 128 for a knife drop.
I like how your humour gets more funny and relaxed through the video. Yet another chunk video that makes me wish I could dip my toe in and make a video myself. Really like this man hope to see more
Hey FrostyBTW ! I've found this series randomly and seriously keep it up, you got a new sub ! Here's some tips and bits: - Those Ring nest you got in your bank, you could get a ruby ring and enchant it to help you with your smiting grind, iron is a pain. - Earth warriors drop a earth staff, could be useful for any reason, would go take one just to have it in the bank to unlock strategy possibilities. - Krystilia task you can do (5/32 of chance): Skeleton, spider, Earth warrior, Chaos druid & black demon. - Vanneka task you can do (4/56): Hill Giant, Hobgoblins, Moss giant & Earth warriors.
I'm hyped man, a lot of new content creators go extremely slowly at the start of their grinds (such as paying attention to every single letter), but you're already doing this like you're a pro. Your voice is also very nice to listen to. So, congratz on that and you've got a new sub and I will definitely follow your journey. Good luck!
I hope you include the stairs/ladders and canoe's in your chunk rolling whenever you reach that point. I feel like that should be a thing, but perhaps poll it when you reach that point later on in the series. For now, I enjoyed the first episode!
866,667 Big Bones for 13mil XP, which is currently 117mil GP at current GE prices. Which if done entirely at hill Giants will be 30,333,345 damage needed to be dealt, which would be 121,333,380 Combat XP and 40,343,348 HP XP. So you would be getting 99's in Attack, Strength, Defense, Range and HP before you hit 99 Prayer.
@@mrhydromr if you got 50k combat xp/hour it would take 2,426 hours of killing Hill Giants to reach target. not impossible but im not going to agree on 'very doable' and I wouldn't wish that upon anybody
Super glad I found this video and channel, you got a great sense of humour and knack for editing, super excited for the rest of series and other content you put your mind to
Wow when I first saw the region was Edgeville I thought to myself how much content could there possibly be? You proved me wrong and I loved this first episode. You did a great job of explaining everything and fit a lot of progress in one episode. Can't wait to watch more, happy I stumbled across your channel.
I love it, subbed. When you got the casket and opened that clue, after all of those hours of grinding, and got good loot, dang bro, goosebumps, i just love that shit.
You are funny, have some really nice editing and extra jokes/puns put in. Like it alot. Good luck on ur journey and Gz on the early spoon. Now. Get to work! We want more from u! :D
Sub 522 here, I honestly enjoyed your vid from the second you started to sing your intro lol that was amazing but I think what 100% solidified my sub was your amazing recreation of when you u got your iron kite lmao! I died of laughter. Love the continuous use of your music in the edits, its really refreshing to get a different style of osrs content creator. Keep it up man! Can't wait to see more
Wasn't sure if I'd follow this because of the other One Chunk series but that intro sold me. Plus starting in a different chunk will provide such a different experience instead of getting cucked by KQ chunk for months.
Hey man, I loved the video! I was thinking about the pick though, theres addy ore in edge dungeon so with a pick you'd have a 70 smith requirement. That isn't going to be fun with iron and no rofs... I reccomend keeping your natures for superheating iron, but you may also want them for snaring Obor... Tough position to be in. Good luck!
I actually saw you at the outlaw camp when you were grinding for this, I didn’t know who it was, I saw the gear and said “this’ll be a RUclips vid one day.” 🤙🤙
Getting a pickaxe would be weird champ because then you can mine but suddenly need 70 instead of 55 smithing without an anvil
What would take more time, though? 50 Smithing from smelting ores from randomized monster drops, or 70 with a guaranteed rate from an ore vein?
My instinct tells me the latter, but if there's an argument for the monster drops I'd hear you (or whoever) out.

It'll balance out by giving him the monastery next
This was a fun watch, I see you too also enjoy pain, nice.
bit of rough math on that easy clue completion:
drop rate (man): 1/128
# of easy steps: 150
# of steps you can complete: 3
easy clue completion: 2-4 steps
so, getting an easy step in your area: 1/6,400
getting avg number of easy steps in your area to complete clue (3): ~1/19,200
drop rate air staff easy clue: 1/36
total # of men killed to get air staff on avg: ~691,2000
for perspective, that would give you 93 base melee stats worth of xp
conclusion: rip d spear rng
