- Fancy, in northern St. Vincent, is the closest village to La Soufriere, the island's volcano that is oozing magma. Residents reflect on the 1979 eruption and give their view amidst the current activity.
What beautiful, well spoken, industrious and loving set of people,I wish you all the very best St. Vincent! Much love from Jamaica🇯🇲 Be safe
My great-grandfather George Edwards (Brother Eddy) was born in 1875 or 1874.
He rescued and took lots of people to safety in his fishing boat at the 1902 La Soufrière Volcano eruption.
He donated land for the Save Soul, Gospel Hall Church. He helped in the establishment of the Campden Park Agricultural and Experimental station. He was a farmer, a fisherman, a medicine man (Herbalist), and a preacher. People used to travel from different islands to visit my great-grandfather for medical help.
He was helpful to the people who were from Wallilabou, too. At least 68 families from Wallilabou were relocated to Campden Park. Some of the people were relocated to Claire Valley. Brother Eddy had members of his family who resided in Claire Valley.
He planted the coconut palms in Lowmans Bay.
I think that he went to Panama to work Diggers during the construction of the Panama canal.
He was an all rounder in the things he did.
Very interesting account of your great grandfather..
Your great grandfather was a great and wonderful man. Sounds like he help many people
I just.love my people so.passionate so humble so peaceful so spiritual God be with you all.

I like how respectful the interviewer is
I realize I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?

@Jaxxon Johnathan Definitely, I've been using Flixzone for years myself =)
Who else is hear because of the April’s irruption?
Bless you Ms Anne Baptiste. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
As a geologist, I worked in SVG for 10 months in 2005 on an environmental project and went up the volcano many times. You could see the post 79 lava dome very clearly then, and the new one is very obvious. There was often a sulphurous smell around the crater when I went up. Watching the situation closely and hope it all works out well.
Well, the eruption is imminent. Watching this, and remembering my youth; when we would climb up the mountain before the last eruption.. the crater was a large lake of water then. A few foreign friends and I went down and even swam in it.. I do hope all of the people in the red zone evacuate, as volcanic eruptions such of that in 1902, could be catastrophic.
Was the water you swam in hot or warm? Must have been quite an experience.
I really appreciate the storytelling on this channel. Brilliant documentary making ❤
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in SVG
Very informative great job Kenton Chance

Hi am the son of the soil of st.vincent and the grenadine I am praying for my people and for all the families of my country and for their protection over their life
The people are simply, beautiful and humble. May God be with them all.
Just to yet you know as a fellow Islander in Hawaii if you set up a live stream 24hrs a day pointing to the mountain you would probably get a lot of subscribers. No one has one and you would be the only one. I hope for the best for the all the people there. Thank you for the content so far great reporting!
There are pictures showing the mountain, before and during the eruption. Those who have relatives and friends are sending live shots. There are many around..
And now here we are in April 2021. Hope these people got out in time.

Public comments.god bless you mother please be safe 🙏🙏🙏. I'm happy for you. your health is your wealth and happiness.
Very interesting video. Lovely country. Hope I can visit some day. Hope it turns out well for the residents.
If we have to evacuate..I have no where to go...already tryna keep my daughter n I safe from Covid n Dengue..and now this...
The general feel i'm getting from this video is that the residents are taking a layed-back approach to this volcano blowing up bcz they think that the evacuation zone is like a bunker from the volcano, lets hope they're not mistaken!
Prayers to The all the Vincentians and can anyone tell me if the people in the interview are ok and did they have to end up moving since the recent eruptions?
This is not related but that baby boy is cute.
Seek the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ before it's too late. John 3:16

This was 3 months ago ....so I wonder how they feel now ? Did they evacuate or stay since the eruption ?
More eruptions yesterday 4-9-21, with more expected. Thousands evacuating. It was more than 41 years since the last eruption in 1979. Could be very serious, with multiple eruptions now.
Public comments.building your immune system and blood count and pH level is vital for better health and happiness and general hygiene daily and take necessary precaution daily and eating healthy food and nutrition daily.
Thunder dont roll in april lollll this part funny 😂

We will rise again SVG we will rise. God will help us through this and he will bless us. My homeland and my place of peace 🇻🇨.

Thank you for the grammar education. I was able to understand most of the dialect and I lost about 30% of my biases. Irie!
Why does this lady sound Jamaican? The second lady sounds ST Vincen.
We need a second interview ... after thoughts post eruption
What a cool n dangerous experience
we can know where they are now? Especially the farmer man who said he staying behind please?
Praying for God’s protection.
What is this pattern with people not doing their cancer diagnosis or declining volcano evacuations due to covid?
They better cross whatever river dey hadda cross when it erupts
One guy wont move because he is concerned about his animals? Really?😗😗
If you are poor and hard working and you have to literally work for everything, and you might loose it all, you will understand their reasons
@@MzLipz I got you..its my hometiwn..I fully got it..but I still wont choose animals over my life..things you can get back..life you cant
I would agree with u but in my part the animals have a life to live just like ours so imagine that u are the animal getting burned by lava how would u feel
@@MzLipz True. What happened for some is that when they returned home from camps, all their livestock had been taken and they had to start over again from scratch.
@@susieroberts8457 Animals have life too🙄
Good doc.
Remember God loves you so much that he sent his son to die for our sins so that we can have everlasting life please repent and trust in him ✔️
Volcano is not really anything to really be afraid of
500 poll are still living on montserrat
St Vincent is way larger
The only bad thing ppl would loose thier whole life saving and posession
But they will survive
I'm alive and well but miss home
Okay I Or we Here have HAVE Experience the 19 79Europsions , we were there from the beginning to the ending I Served as an Evangelist of the Gospel of Christ For Churches of Christ on St Vincent and the Grenadines we had a camp set up at the Kingstown Church of Christ at Kingstown Park. Now in the United States of America. Paul here.
Beautiful child, the grandchild fro Fancy. Just want to scoop him up and squeeze those sweet little cheeks! ☺️😘
When one lives on a volcanic island, one should expect a HOT reception from it once in a while. I see no reason to panic, they should expect these things from time to time.
Lol u have never lived on a volcano have u....this will be a blast not only the lava will be an issue but the ash cloud will bury the island so not only lava will kill them the gas and ash will and the food and water contamination
I sure hope that gentleman had a change of heart and get out because animals can always be replaced.
I have realized. You will have those who will choose to stay and often they regret it later.
Hi dear!
Respect
At some point we have to go back to our fathers land where we'll be safe from hurricane and volcanoes, be safe my people ur lives worth more than farming.

My village of fancy🇻🇨
Very nice village and warm people, many of Carib ancestry, I believe..
Whats an effustive eruption????
Effusive means like it’s a slow progression of an eruption not explosive
