Actually the holy chest armor is great for putting on your recruits cause it provides them with top tier survivability while making their limbs vulnerable, which is perfect if you wanna replace them with prosthetics (and you usually do for the insane bonuses). I have had entire playthroughs where most of my guys wore Ninja Rags and Assassin's Rags... Even if not really going for stealth. +20% dodge effect combined with a martial arts bonus makes for a solid, cheap, and stylish kit for the best combat style in the game. Who cares about protection when you're not getting hit? I like to combine it with fog masks or swamp ninja masks for a pretty creepy look that also helps mitigate the rags' lack of environment protection.
That’s exactly what I do. Fog mask, assassins rags, dark leather shirt, samurai clothpants and wooden sandals. Get your toughness high enough and when you do take a hit, it’s pretty negligible anyway
I think it depends what you want to achieve. Protecting your base will be easy. Attacking a well defended place just in ninja rags, when harpoons fire at your troops and a boss shows up? Not so much... But everything is possible if you just have high leveled characters. Sure, why not. I like also the stealth approach by the way, especially for solo characters.
I adore holy nation armor! I keep getting piles of it because they insist on raiding me constantly. The best part is, I never have to mine for iron, since I can just melt down the free deliveries.
As a plate jacket enthusiast I feel obligated to point out the white plate jacket is actually the superior plate jacket unless you're trying to sneak around in medium-heavy armor. Black plate jacket has no stealth penalty, but the white plate jacket only has a 5% dexterity penalty instead of 10%. Also the regular grey plate jacket is slightly inferior to both for some reason.

I have like 30 dudes in two settlements kitted out in specialist merc plate, armoured rags and chainmail and they are really good, the armor also trains dudes strength up while they run to make iron plates and stuff, most of them have foreign sabers so they just destroy in the open. They all get hit for like 10 damage from most things it’s kind of crazy. They have like 50% damage resistance in the arms and legs with like 80% stacking chainmail with a ton of coverage
What people fail to understand about Kenshi is that suffering will make you stronger. Want to become a good bow man? Use every item that will decrease your crossbow performance, because the lower your stats are the faster your skill will go up. Same goes for athletic, dexterity, thoughnes. I've played Kenshi too much so I known all the exploits which take away some of the fun though. Here are some tips for those who have already beaten the game and want to start anew. Get 80 skill in assassination by knocking out slaves in the stone mines in the desert, guards won't attack you as long as you don't get in combat by failed assassination attempt. Just run away and they usually reset. It will only take 30 min to reach about 80 skill. Then go to the fishing village up north by the world's end. Turn the camera away from the ocean and holy nation robots will spawn not far away from the fishing village. Knock them out and kidnap them and drop them off by a slave market. After you have bought about 10 you'll be friendly with the skeletons and make it easier to recruit them by buying their freedom. 30s Stat robots, easy clap. Thoughnes is easy, have a strong mob attack while you lay in a skeleton repair bed. After all your stats are in the 80s go get the skin peeler and lose all your limbs of your recruits. Replace them with prosthetics. All stats over 100. GG =D Train dexterity first because it's harder to train, strength is easy with trader backpack and orange 20kg dynamos. Buy them if you see them. Using shit prosthetic can also help you train higher stats if you need to also :P

I think mad cat lon assassination technique is much better in my opinion. Assassination will level up pretty fast in not less than 30 mins i guess i didnt time it
Your exploit training methods may need some ... more time investment: Get any ranged weapon, lure King Gorillo to the corner of his Island, swim to the shore, KO him, pick him up. Next you need a prison and a x8 bed. I like to use Mourn but do w.e. Put the King down (he needs to be unconscious for this to work, if he still is from the KO, carry on without putting him down), pick him up, put him in prison, unlock the prison and pick him up from in there. Put him in a bed, wait for the unconscious timer to run out. (He has to have been unconscious for the whole prison and putting into bed thing in one go) You now have a 100 in all stats punching bag that has 400+ hp an all limbs, can never die as his deathpoints are just way to low, will never loose limbs and can't fight back. Cripple yourself, use shody grade economy limbs for best maluses, starve yourself a bit if you're not a skelly and start to punch your punching bag with a shody grade Whakizashi (easy to find in the Hub). Once he goes unconscious you can't hit him anymore, so bandage him back up to raise first aid. 20 Minutes later (only takes like one rest or so because shody grade weapons do doodoo dmg) and you know have 90+ Dex, attack and Katana skill. Use a Edge grade Fragment Axe next to train Str. As long as your Str is below [weight x 2 or blunt dmg x 40] you get Str xp when hitting stuff. Not to good to push past 70'ish tho as for Str training this way you need to hit multiple targets per swing for it to be worth it. So abduct some other animals (like the white Gorillo, Megaraptor, Elder Beakthings or w.e.) and have them all in beds mushed together so you hit multiple things at once. You can train any weapon skill into the high 80 on a single round of King Gorillo slapping with two shoddy grade eco limbs and a shody grade weapon of the class you want to train. Your Toughness, go to Cat-Lons exile, agro the 120 thralls, stay close to the outside wall of the dome they're in and start to take off and then put back on one of your prosthetic legs (don't even need to drag it into the inventory, just pull it out of the slot it's in and put it right back where it came from). You get a super short unconscious state and when enemies that may fight you are nearby you get a play dead after. As Toughness XP is only calculated from how many possible enemies are in """close""" proximity when you get back up the thralls can return into their dome and you just flop around on the wall on the outside. Set up your interface nice so you can unlimb yourself and click to get back up nicely, get into a rhythm and you can have ~12 Play Deads per minute.
that's not true, only skills that say "more exp when fighting stronger opponents, less when fighting weaker" work like that. strength, thoughness, athletics, perception, etc all level up at the same rate regardless of the effective stat (though i'm pretty sure dexterity is an exception to that rule) i have also done some testing myself and i'm not even sure if stat debuffs affect exp gain at all, when hitting one of my glorified training dummies (great white gorillo) regardless of whether or not i was using a backpack (Which lowers both attack and defence by 10) my exp gain rate was still the same, though using the backpack for defence training was definitely better since you gain more exp when failing to block hits, and a lower stat made it so you would fail to block more often. the concensus of the kenshi community is that all the stats that have the more against stronger less against weaker thingy will level up faster if you have debuffs, and the testing i've done contradicts that which is why i'm not sure about my results, since they contradict what i've been believing in for the 3-4 years i've been playing this game

The crab helmet is the best helmet in the entire game for non-hivers. I see your argument for the samurai armor and stuff, but the crab helmet is godlike and can't be topped for anyone but a crossbow character. the cut resistance efficiency is above the samurai helmet so it actually has better protection too. best possible tank goes with the crab armor and helmet, blackened chainmail, samurai legplates, and wooden sandals. wooden sandals just to offset the combat speed since the legplates already have 100% protection. slap all of that on a shek with the exile plank and industrial lifter arms and you have yourself an immovable object.
I know it sounds counterintuitive, but you can just put all of your dudes in crab armor with an old world mark 1 bow and some random side melee weapon. They'll still do full damage, reload fast enough if not as fast as normal, and they take almost no damage from enemy harpoons and crossbows.
Hey bud, a fair comparison IMO. The armor all depends on the function of the character is trying to do in game and the play style of the gamer. I like range with martial arts for close combat, it's just my play style. Take care and be safe. ( hope you do another lets play soon. ) 🙂👍
Great thing, having a martial artist with crossbows. Enemies think: "Ha, i`m gonna punch that ranger when i close enough so hard, that he will die". Then you pack away your bow, and hit them with your bare fist like a truck, so that they die :D Dangerous in the range, and even mor dangerous in melee. I love it.
The only reason why Holy Nation and United Cities can't beat eachother is because one having full heavy armor but using the fricking katana, while another having inferior armor but using plank. xD
@2:03 If you lose a limb and replace it with prosthetics - youre no longer human in HN eyes. If you lose a limb in a serious fight - you will bleed out. If you lose a leg in a fight, you will be lying down on the floor, incapacitated and unable to fight. If you lose both your legs, you will no longer be able to wear armor on your feet, and thats one layer of protection gone. Dont lose legs to prosthetics, kids. Theyre not an upgrade - theyre a side grade. Inferior one, at that. Losing arms, on the other hand...
The police helmet and plate jacket/boots are usually sold in armor shops in cities owned by UC or tech hunters. The two most common places to find them for me has been Flats Lagoon and Black Scratch, Tech Hunter towns. You might also get lucky finding them in Brink, which is west from Black Scratch. Ashlands Dome 4 down in the south eastern part of the Ashlands appears to have a 100% chance to spawn a specialist grade black plate jacket. But the enemies there are extremely dangerous for early game characters, because Ashlands are the endgame zone. If you want to try looting the Ashlands domes you'll need to train a stealth character to about 80, with 60+ lockpicking. When I do Ashland dome looting I normally try and train 3-4 ninjas up to 50 stealth, then I give them Ninja rags, black leather shirts, ninja pants, and swamp gas masks, to boost their stealth higher, and thieves backpacks for storage. If you have a lot of money, or a roboticist with high enough skill, you should also equip them with masterwork scout legs for speed. You can easily amputate characters legs and only their legs, by finding an acid lake and having them stand in it. Except for hivers, who are acid immune. Make sure they're *standing* in it, not swimming. Because if they're swimming in the lake, their entire body will take damage, not just the legs. I normally use the acid lakes in Vain, but there's also some on the eastern edge of flats lagoon. Also make sure you have a medic nearby, just incase things go south, and have your amputee carry the leg replacements in their inventory while they're standing in acid. that way you can quickly equip the new legs as soon as you lose the old ones.
19:18 What do you mean having them made masterwork will make the boots have the athletic malice disappear? The wiki is the opposite and actually increase the malice
First love the chat rule simple and brunt, second any armour that's not Samuria pants heavy class, Black Plate Jacket, A plague doctors mask, and Drifters boots your characters look well uh kinda weird bruv, other helmets are acceptable to I just find the plague mask or the dome helmets to be best simply cause I can't remember I used before those two, but alot of helmets work for this armour set plus it's good armour for minor penalties
Actually holy chest plate beats samurai chest plate, there was a dude that did a test on this, he ran a bunch of match ups, one side was using holy chest plate the other one samurai, and the samurai guys were getting stomped 90% of the time
Awesome video! Wish you showed what you prefer to run on tanks and marksman with everything combined.

High strength fragment axe with crab armor = ultimate tank boss.
I generally start out with Ninja/Bandit mashed armor, until my squad can jump into wearing Samurai Armor.
Hey bud, a fair comparison IMO. The armor all depends on the function of the character is trying to do in game and the play style of the gamer. I like range with martial arts for close combat, it's just my play style. Take care and be safe. ( hope you do another lets play soon. ) 🙂👍
Let the Okran guide your way, brother.
New let's play series starting soon™
Great thing, having a martial artist with crossbows. Enemies think: "Ha, i`m gonna punch that ranger when i close enough so hard, that he will die". Then you pack away your bow, and hit them with your bare fist like a truck, so that they die :D Dangerous in the range, and even mor dangerous in melee. I love it.
Especially when they have high Dodge, so they react much faster on a first strike than they would with blocks.
Finally someone who understands that having good gear is cool and all but ya gotta look like the baddest Fashionista anyone has ever seen
So true
Assassin's and Ninja rags are S tier for late game martial artists. You don't need armor if you never get hit
The only reason why Holy Nation and United Cities can't beat eachother is because one having full heavy armor but using the fricking katana, while another having inferior armor but using plank. xD
This information makes me smile.
@2:03
If you lose a limb and replace it with prosthetics - youre no longer human in HN eyes.
Started palaying this game again after a 2 year break. Crab armor = crab people = God
ancient samurai armor gets S+ in style for skeleton characters
Where can i loot or buy that full Police armor??? I am new so plz if you can answer be precise😁

What do you mean having them made masterwork will make the boots have the athletic malice disappear? The wiki is the opposite and actually increase the malice
hey one question what is the better equipment for going kempo if you say in the video i dont understand very good english (im spanish)
wrong, NO ARMOR IS BEST ARMOR
What about my six chads all in plate with maxed martial arts?
Bruh, iron hat has perception bonus which is great for crossbow because they can target further.
I tend to use straw hats for gunners in environments with acid rain chance, and ashlander goggles for environments with duststorms.
Ninja don't need that much protection when they have Stealth. Enemies can't hurt you if they can't see you.
Hell yeah, gotta look cool!
First love the chat rule simple and brunt, second any armour that's not Samuria pants heavy class, Black Plate Jacket, A plague doctors mask, and Drifters boots your characters look well uh kinda weird bruv, other helmets are acceptable to I just find the plague mask or the dome helmets to be best simply cause I can't remember I used before those two, but alot of helmets work for this armour set plus it's good armour for minor penalties
can you please do a weapon mod tierlist? Like the dissimenation or whats it called. It would be very cool
That is a LOT of weapons so maybe™
Actually holy chest plate beats samurai chest plate, there was a dude that did a test on this, he ran a bunch of match ups, one side was using holy chest plate the other one samurai, and the samurai guys were getting stomped 90% of the time
Awesome video! Wish you showed what you prefer to run on tanks and marksman with everything combined.
Why do devs make incomplete armor sets? 😭
I know I would not, AND if it made sense for a set to be incomplete, I'd have an armorsmith in-game creating the missing pieces just because he enjoys full sets.
longboots plated even in master still's gives penalty for 2% athletics even if doesn't show the negative stats.
i'm late to the comment party, but I just wanted to say that i love the dustcoat so much
probably because i'm a weirdo
No, dustcoat is legit a cool look
I always default to Swamp Ninja Masks on everyone.
Hi Koko can you do a ranking for modded armor and weapons from the most used ones
Assassin's Rags over all others
Dodgechamps
Where do you get the police armor from ?
35:32 - that is it. You just do not give them same weapon.
What is the best armor for a soldier hive?
does unholy armor has the same value as the holy armor?
Tbh don't like the look of noble outfit, sort of just looks like pajamas, doesn't say rich powerful guy to me
Rank the options settings
Great idea, thanks!
If you support the holy nation and the slavers we can't be friends.
Seems like a solid list. Since my playstyle is more on the side of speed I gotta agree with you about the crab armor placing but crabs themselves are a big must as a pet, at least one. XD I'm sure you 100% agree. Lol! Well played.
Will you do another playthrough of Kenshi?
Yes, very soon™
meanwhile I just braindead dust coat gas mask everyone
No tin can!?!?!
why need armor when you have 100 athletics skill
You're not winning a fight with 100 athletics
@@KokoplaysMB i can agree with that but how are you going to GET into a fight if your just too fast
But you want to get into a fight.
good point@@KokoplaysMB thanks for the vid btw
I think that crab Armor it's too high, only my opinion
Unholy armor every day!
I dont want to look dead and beatiful, i want to look shit but alive. World of kenshi, the ugly wasteland 😂
That's all good and stuff, but where is "how to launch the game" tier list?
Providing 15% less damage means that your soldiers will stay about 15% longer in the battle, i cant afford it.
GO GO HOLY NATION!
No armored rags?
Look again
@@KokoplaysMB Armored rags are so beautiful!
Trader with falling sun lol
