I look at the Troy Bilt version and I thought it was a homeowner trimmer... but BOY HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED!!!

Change out the bush blade with a 6 1/2 inch thin kerf saw blade and insert.

I would prefer that type of blade; years ago I had a blade that had a chainsaw style tooth pattern on it, and I really liked that - it was easy to sharpen and worked well. That was on a Poulan brand machine though.

Will that type of blade cut down bamboo trees

I can't say for sure, but I would imagine it might. I find it capable for 1-2 inch limbs and brush.

Hi Michael - yes, the brush blade is pretty poor. I had a Poulan once that had a blade with a chainsaw cutting profile, that was amazing - and easy to sharpen!
