As a GT86 owner, these cars arent fro straight line racing, you'll get gapped most of the time. However, race others on twisty mountain roads, you'll be keeping up with even WRXs, depending on how good the driver is

I cant wait for my GR86 Trueno. I feel like 400whp out this engine will blow it tho especially with its current oil pressure issues. The Oil PSI drops will only get worse with more horsepower since that in turn will lead to pulling more Gs on track.
That’s awesome to hear your gonna get a Trueno Edition one I’ve been looking at those online recently. Hopefully by the time I would get any where near those Horsepower numbers there are preventable items to help reduce the oil PSI dropping with hard cornering. As a one year owner who lives in the Appalachian mountains with plenty of twisty roads, this car feels all kinds of fast. Stock power, stock suspension, stock everything (minus the annoying augmented engine sound) this car is all kinds of fun out of the box for where I live. Sure it can be even better with a little $ or a lot of $$$ thrown at it to improve power, handling, or aero but as is it can get you where you need to go faster than alot of cars where the course from point a to point b isn’t a straight line. But that’s not to say it isn’t quick in a straight line at the red light. It’s not gonna beat a hell cat or something of a similar nature, but it’ll get up and go. But I also could be biased, other cars I’ve owned and driven are older trucks, a Subaru Forester, jeep renegade, etc and this thing is the most enjoyable car I’ve had so far.
I actually just hit one year with my 86 as well. Just posted a video on that topic matter of fact. I wish I had the ability to drive roads like mountain or twisty roads in my area, but unfortunately Florida is very limited to its elevation and curvy roads. I would love to take this car to the tail of the dragon or an actual road track or circuit track in my area. Awesome to hear you own an 86 as well, I am sure you love yours as much as I love mine. I had my RTV pickup tube and oil pan checked recently, debating on after another 5-10k miles dropping it agian and putting a baffle kit in there once there has been more testing of them.
Everybody thinks if you have a GR86/BRZ, Supra etc that it needs to be built fast with super and turbochargers. No it doesn’t. You build your car the way you want it and as long as you enjoy it, it’s all that matters. Not every car needs to be 400+ HP.
I couldn’t have said it any better myself dude! It’s sad that’s the reality we’ve come to now a days. There is always room to make it faster or put turbo changers or super chafers on a car like this, but I’m gonna just enjoy it how it is now. Thanks for watching the video fam 👏💙

if you’ve never driven a quick car then this is plenty fast when compared to civics or other commuter cars. But if you’ve driven anything over 350hp then it is a slowww. Truth is you going fast in a slow car is so much better then going slow in a fast car.

It’s only slow if you compare it to ZL1’s and cars like that. For 30K it’s the best bang for your buck. I have a 2023 BRZ and I love it. Also, do you like your AWE track exhaust? I’m thinking of getting it myself but wanna make sure it’s a good amount louder then stock.
I completely agree it’s probably the best bang for buck sports car that’s been released recently. The AWE Track Catback imo is by far one of the loudest and best sounding Catback exhaust you can go with for this car. I have a few POV videos and Exhaust videos with how it sounds on the car. I actually just filmed a new POV video with the car popping like crazy in downtown that will be posted in a week or so, make sure to stay tuned 👀

I had one. It was such a fun car to go (safely) crazy in. Never overwhelmed and always well-behaved under constant stress. However, I didn't win many if any straight line races. So I am not sure where he got that from. In the end, I got a Supra, then an SUV. Now I do miss it.

I had an '18 and '19 WRX, a '21 STI and now a 2024 BRZ tS. Let me tell you, slow is someone underestimating what theyve never driven, only seen some bad examples and decided to paint a brush. As a former STI owner, the BRZ surpassed all of my expectations when it comes to power delivery, it definitely walks the WRX, doesnt matter if its an inch or a mile, winning is winning 😂😂

The brz is the perfect car to modify.a low price to buy then you have so many options to build up the car.this is why it is made to modify.and yes a stock brz is slow but fun.that fun runs out very quickly and it's time to upgrade the infinite possibilities.10,000 grand and you will have a car that can compete with a dodge demon ect.they are meant to be upgraded.the perfect starter car for mods.

If you want a rwd platform for a good price. Maybe this car is for you. If you want an awd or higher ho platform maybe you should look into a focus rs, newer wrx or even a civic si

You'll be surprise how quick the GR86 really is. The "feeling slow" you are getting is because of the LCG attributes of the vehicle. Also, it is a momentum vehicle and rewards you on perfect shift points. It is faster than the SI, WRX for sure, and punches above its weight with other "faster" cars. Ask me how I know... Bottom line, know what you have and learn your car. Also, for the young men out there, know how to properly wrench so that you do not compromise the vehicle reliability and dynamics properties. Believe it or not, you can really hurt performance with some tacky "performance" mods.
Wassup fam, I actually have a few Shorts videos of some runs I’ve had in this car, I’ve beaten ecoboost mustangs, kept up with 5.0 (I was in 2nd he was probably in 3rd ngl 😅) and I’ve been neck and neck with a FBO 3.8 Genesis. This car isn’t really meant for straight line speed, but I love when it surprises me tho

Certainly, this car is an absolute blast. There definitely is much faster cars in a straight line, but I love the way this thing handles, and it can only improve from where it’s at now.

@@tonepolo5276 these cars are certainly a blast to drive, I really like that white color on yours. Who knows maybe when the time comes, and if a good deal comes around you could maybe trade yours in if you wanted too. A good thing is that a lot of first gen parts with fit on the gen 2’s so if you ever get one a lot of aftermarket parts should be able to get swapped over if you wanted too.

I feel it all depends on how well setup the car is, if the FRS can’t get any traction or put the power down then I’d see no reason why that wouldn’t be true, but you have to give facts where facts are due. Most cases of a FRS that weighs almost nothing had a turbo or supercharger on it putting out 350 to the wheels, I don’t think a stock accord is beating it. That’s just my take on it, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Thanks for watching 🤝
I’m mean Im not really coping for anything, and I’m being as honest as possible. This thing is levels faster all around then the previous generation is, people don’t realize that. They assume it’s just the first generation with an updated body style, the new GR86 has improved a lot 🤷♂️

23' Gr86 with 30k mi here. The car looks fast to sedans, zippy changing lanes to SUV and cool to park next to sports and muscle over 60k+
They’re just fun ngl. Track is where they shine. I did beat a friends turbo bmw in a straight line tho (weighs like 1k more than the BRZ)

I love the 2.4 liters of boxer in them. It does really need forced induction to get the feeling the car looks like it should give you though.

Certainly, this car is an absolute blast. There definitely is much faster cars in a straight line, but I love the way this thing handles, and it can only improve from where it’s at now.

@@tonepolo5276 these cars are certainly a blast to drive, I really like that white color on yours. Who knows maybe when the time comes, and if a good deal comes around you could maybe trade yours in if you wanted too. A good thing is that a lot of first gen parts with fit on the gen 2’s so if you ever get one a lot of aftermarket parts should be able to get swapped over if you wanted too.

Yeah for real, I didn’t buy this car so I could be fast in a straight line. This car has its own strengths were it succeeds way better than other vehicles may. I absolutely love my 86, and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thanks for the support, I appreciate you watching the video 👏💙
I’ve seen 350hp boosted-FRS get gap by 230hp v6 accords..
I feel it all depends on how well setup the car is, if the FRS can’t get any traction or put the power down then I’d see no reason why that wouldn’t be true, but you have to give facts where facts are due. Most cases of a FRS that weighs almost nothing had a turbo or supercharger on it putting out 350 to the wheels, I don’t think a stock accord is beating it. That’s just my take on it, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Thanks for watching 🤝

I’m mean Im not really coping for anything, and I’m being as honest as possible. This thing is levels faster all around then the previous generation is, people don’t realize that. They assume it’s just the first generation with an updated body style, the new GR86 has improved a lot 🤷♂️
