- In this video I'll show you how I find and photograph wild rabbits.
It includes information on rabbits, footage of them and my thought processes when preparing for a shoot... and of course, I include some of my photos from the day. Хобби
Brilliant, loved the bunnies, great photographs.
Many thanks Darren, much appreciated.
I just loved all those backlit shots, especially the one with the rabbit midhop in the rain. Lovely. I love these videos that are half documentary and half photography!
Thank you Stephen. I like to share some info about the species but I think a lot of people just prefer pure photography info. So I’m trying to provide a balance. Thanks for your views - it’s helpful to know what people like.
Love all of these shots. Just WOW!!!
Thank you so much.
Find these styles of videos really interesting, hope you keep making these in addition to videos on general tips etc.
Hi. I will certainly try to include some more of this, but I have to be honest - these type of videos don't tend to do very well. I'm not entirely sure why. But I will consider how I can mix some of this stuff in to my other content. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching.
a lot of beautiful shots indeed
Thanks
Very nice work! Tons of useful information, keep them coming!
Thank you
This video is helpful for making rabbit AI for my game, as well as animations for specific idle behaviors and different movements. Thanks.
Hi Erick, I wasn't expecting to find this could be useful for gaming, but I'm happy you've found a use for it. Thanks for watching.
Got some beautiful shots there Scott! Love the backlit frames!
Thank you
Love your videos and very useful information Scott. Thanks for doing what you do. Phil
Much appreciated Phil, thanks for continuing to watch.
That video's really inspired me, I'm going to do this.
Go for it. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant video, I'm keen to get some rabbit and hare shots. Can you advise on some camera settings to get me started thanks
Very informative video about shooting the rabbits and some very good photos! I wonder if you can also display the basic camera settings used to capture the images in your videos. That would be very nice for the other photographers.
Thanks for watching. I’ll try to do that in the future.
Hi.
Another excellent work in this video.
Where I live in Valongo-Portugal. There is a certain forest place where some rabbits live, but it is not so easy to see them as there is in this fabulous place.
I had to buy a hidden camera to get some videos day and night but with poor quality. :)
Thank you very much. I'm sure it was still a worthwhile experience for you to see the rabbits in action. I believe you're near Porto, which is a place I'd like to visit one day
@@WalksOnTheWildSide Yes it's true. It was a good experience. My house and the city of Porto are 16 km away. Beautiful city, and I enjoyed getting to know london and surroundings of course.

Nice.
Dear sir.Are you zoologist? In one minit there are so many creatures distinguished in our world.Never seen them
Thank you. I'm certainly no zoologist, just an enthusiast. I'm glad you liked the video though. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video, very informative!
Would you happen to know if all burrows are likely to be populated? There are a number on a golf course I sometimes walk by, and was wondering... if I staked out a particular burrow before sunrise, is there a real chance that nothing emerges from it? Or is that unlikely? Curious, as I've never seen them enter or exit! Thanks
Thanks for watching. There is a chance you would see nothing - particularly if there are a number of burrows joined together into a warren. Rabbits tend to have preferred burrows to enter and leave the warren, but the less favoured burrows might get used as a sort of 'emergency exit' from time to time. At this time of year the number of rabbits will be much lower because many of them will have been eaten by predators or run over by cars etc... But from about April onwards, the numbers start to increase again. If you spend a bit of time observing all the burrows and learn which one the favourites are - you will see many of them coming and going. Mainly in the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset.
@@WalksOnTheWildSide Interesting insight... just picked up the 200-600 to pair with my A9 and am looking for some fluffiness to capture. Thanks again for the tips :)
An excellent combination - exactly what I use. Good luck with your rabbits.
Hello man, I appreciate the video! In the future I would also love to photograph wild rabbits and wild animals! Do you by any chance have a website or a photo gallery of your work?
Thanks. Yeah, I'm just in the process on putting a new website together. I've got a bit more to do to it, some more photos to upload and so on, but it's live now and you can take a look. walksonthewildside.co.uk Thanks for watching.
@@WalksOnTheWildSide Thanks so much! I encourage you to keep photographing! I also have one more question. I live in the US and we have a rabbit population but not a booming one. Are large parks with woodland a good area to find rabbit warrens?
The warrens I find are generally very near to wooded areas, but this is with the European rabbit. The rabbits in the USA are a different species. I would imagine they behave very similarly, but I've not studied American rabbits. If you see a rabbit there will likely be others nearby because they live in groups. Then it's just a matter of finding the warren - follow the droppings.
@@WalksOnTheWildSide Gotcha! How many times have you gone on a rabbit photography excursion?
A few times each spring for the last few years.
au rabbits $9 kilo 1960s-70s free - used to see 1,000's in paddocks
hardly see any now after they released the new virus farmers making $ without pesky rabbits here
Luckily they’re not so much of a problem to farmers over here.
Hey, I hope you are well. I have seen all videos. Very well. I appreciate your work. I have sent an email by ifthekar robin, kindly check it out.
and waiting for your reply.
