Always appreciate your viewpoint. Thank you for staying on point and providing excellent in-video examples and graphic. Nicely done. (and as others have mentioned, you're looking good).
Yes this is really important especially with newer modern lenses with a high element count that are clinically sharp, these images are extremely flat. I do use modern lenses but I have a love for vintage lenses. There are some that have phenomenal microcontrast rendering. And I find I get more 3D pop with those lenses with less editing. Just food for thought. Very spot on video thanks.
Interesting idea. I’ve played with some vintage lenses, but at shorter focal lengths than those used in this video and reflecting in that, you might be right about the effect of multiple elements. Definitely the raw file formats have something to do with it too - because they are trying to cram a wider dynamic range in which has the effect of making them flatter. I’m going to have to do some more thinking about that. Thanks for watching.
Really great tutorial! The explanation of the concepts behind the tools you showed is really top. I used these tools but I didn't have a precise idea of how each one worked. I am truly grateful for this comprehensive explanation!
As all your other videos this one is another gem. Thank u for putting in the effort and delivering such eductional content. I do enjoy the detailed, visual and vocal, explanations which i'm sure come from years of experince. Keep up the amazing work 😊
Hi Giuseppe. I hope all is well with you. I've been missing here too recently - very busy, but I'm back around. looking forward to catching up on some of your vids soon. Thanks for watching.
Just subscribed after watching your macro lesson for Laowa on their channel. I like the technicality, it's the quickest way to improve and control photographic outcomes.
@@WalksOnTheWildSide There were several spots on your video where you had pixelation. At 15:00 is a great example (bottom right) and then at 25:05 you can see at the bottom right. Next at 25:09 the 2 boxes with a larger blank area and screen. At 25:16 the screen flashes with that same area initiating the flicker. The GPU might be overheating or there's a hardware issue. It might be the driver?
you have to pay an additional $9.99 per month to use some of the functions you taught here, as Adobe will not sell them as add-ons to people who have already paid for lightroom. NOT a nice company, it is almost blackmail!
Hi John. Unfortunately I think most, if not all, of the major photo editing software developers have switched to the subscription model. Is it fair to people like yourself who bought a full version before this new subscription model came out - no, it's not. But they would probably argue that the cash flow allows them to put more money into developing new features. I have certainly noticed a much faster rate of development from all the software providers I use. But this just means that the gap between the old desktop version and the new cloud/subscription version will get wider and wider each year. I'm not trying to justify their position, just to explain it. However, I might be able to help - I'm going to work on a video for people like yourself with some alternatives to think about. So look out for it coming up at some point in the future.
So I gave up on your interesting video because I can't rent on a pension, have already bought lightroom, but not allowed to update it at any price! Adobe are a nasty company
Scott, You have a gift of explaining things so well. 👌👌 thank you. Another great video

Excellent video. I’ve used all these tools but with no real understanding of what they are affecting … now to go and use them out “properly”!
I'm glad you found it useful, thanks for watching.

I've said it before but I keep repeating it. I'm learning so much from you, and I don't even do nature photography.

Do you think it's time to upgrade your GPU? Great job on the video!
Glad you liked the video. I’m curious about your GPU comment - what prompted that?
