Ledetchko, Millers, and early Sassau - Secrets, Hidden dialogue, and How to Roleplay | Did you know?

  • We cover the activities after first leaving Rattay that are hidden or have hidden options.
    Ledetchko offers an additional market for Henry's potions and the opportunity to learn the bow. Miller Woyzeck's missions can taken care of during the evenings.
    The best direction to expand the trading network further is the city of Sassau. This sees Henry discovering the fate of the Skalitz wounded and meeting Fritz and Matthew again. The bondage to the Millers is also fulfilled.
    "Kingdom Come:Deliverance" contains many hidden dialogue and secret options that you won't run into if you treat it as a straightforward game where you only follow quest directives. It pays to talk to everyone, pay attention fo passing conversations, and treat the world as a real entity rather than a collection of quests.
    Be sure to take your time and pay attention!

    ========================================
    What's a "let's roleplay"? A roleplay is an attempt to play the game from the character's perspective. Games often have limitations in how they can portray the world and how they allow players to interact with them. Doing a roleplay means taking actions in line with what that character would know, taking the world and story seriously, and interact with the world in ways that are consistent with it even if the game systems can't enforce that.

    Great videos, man, thank you.
    Rattay guards searching you after you steal the sword happens because of one of the game's dumber mechanics. When you steal *anything* from a city or its environs - be it a single cobweb from a chest or a carrot off someone you knocked out - the city goes into "crime wave mode," regardless of whether you were seen or not. Prices with merchants rise by about 60%, NPCs greet you more rudely, and guards will attempt to search you. The one form of theft that doesn't lead to "crime wave mode" is pickpocketing, which is why it's a strong option if you like playing Henry as a rogue, but don't want to break the game's balance by stealing everything from shops as soon as you complete the prologue.

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  4 года назад +5

      Thanks, appreciate your kind words!
      That's exactly the experience I had with Rattay guards even though I didn't show it, they went into suspicion mode and every happened as you describe. I expected that, what was surprising was that the guards detected the stolen sword even though it wasn't actually in my possession. That seems to be scripted just for that quest.

    • @davidmeyer-lindenberg7618
      @davidmeyer-lindenberg7618 4 года назад +2

      @@SequentialGamer_KCD Devil's advocate: Are you sure they were detecting the sword? You say in the video that you removed all stolen items from your inventory while testing this, but I believe stolen keys in particular (which are automatically added to Henry's keyring and so can't be selectively dropped) can also be found by the guards during a search. Is it possible you nicked a key off someone earlier, and that's what was setting them off?

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  4 года назад +2

      @@davidmeyer-lindenberg7618 Yeah, I thought about all the other scenarios too but I don't think the guards were detecting an actual item because they'd only stop me right on that point of the mission. I ran a few tests to see what was happening.
      I tried going in and out of the same entrance right before stealing the sword. Nothing, which makes sense because I wasn't in the practice of stealing anything.
      Then I stole the sword and they stopped me. Par on course I suppose, but the sword was gone and the chest that normally holds stolen items didn't have it. Nor did the guard chests across the city.
      So reloaded from the point just after stealing the sword and put it in the player chest by renting a room at the inn just outside Rattay. So at this point I stole the sword but don't physically have it on me.
      Under normal circumstances that should've meant that they wouldn't stop me because I no longer had anything stolen but they did and the message about finding a stolen item kicked in. But they shouldn't have found anything at all because I didn't have anything stolen on me, which is a big reason why I think that check is scripted.
      Then I went back and got the sword and went past the same guard. And nothing, no check, no nothing even though I had the actual stolen item on me.
      So I'm fairly sure that the guard checking you at that point is scripted. It's possible that it might have been due to reputation from stealing Hanush's book, that's not impossible.
      But it happening at that specific point, the message about stolen items being found even though I had none, and the lack of check right afterwards suggests to me that it was a scripted thing.
      It's all a little puzzling really.

    Executioner Hermann's quest is one of my favorite quests in KCD.
    Multiple obiectives.
    Multiple ways to complete those objectives.
    Each objective, whether done correctly or not, has an effect on the final outcome of the quest.
    Its quite short on paper. But it uses the template of what I consider the Ideal RPG Sidequest.
    The way I got around Rattay giards searching me is by blasting through while on my horse.
    I only discovered this in hindsight.
    I was on my horse, full gallop trying to reach the grindstone in upper Rattay to blunt the sword. And the guard trying to search me simply couldn't get to me fast enough to prompt the game to search me. Lol

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  2 года назад +3

      The guards searching you is odd, how would they know? Other than that the executioner's quest is amazing. Along with the Hare quest it's one of the best in the game.
      I appreciate that you have to interpret the information rarther than just follow prompts. And you can simply fail and you won't find out until the end.

      Fair enough! I tried that and it wasn't working for me. Previous patches had no problem with going into town so I assumed it was scripted somehow.

    I think theres an evil henry option you missed for the Procopius relic quest. If you go to the little church in Sasau, you can dig up a grave to find a quest-marked bone. I havent tried it, but I suspect it's a backup option if you don't want to buy from the Charlatan (or he's already scampered off after the end of his apprentice quest). This option would give special meaning to Henry's dialogue about not just digging it up.

    You mentioned at 11:20 that there is a time limit for helping the two urgent wounded and that one can die if you go and learn reading? Is this still the case and can we help both of them?

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  Год назад +2

      Reading is a tricky one. I've had cases where one of them died so I'd suggest avoiding it. It used to be the case that Nicodemus would make the potion for you if you didn't know how to read but that got removed for unknown reasons.
      So for this quest you might want to look up the steps to make the potion online and just do it, the game still allows alchemy even if Henry hasn't learned how to read.
