I am completely moved by this choir created by Tõnu Kaljuste, because they still dare to sing the best spiritual compositions from different Christian traditions (according to some censuses, our country claimed to be the least religious in Europe). This piece is a very important part of our Orthodox Liturgy service with the text in Church Old Slavonic, which is sung in this musical form in big cathedrals, and at the Easter service. I am completely amazed how clearly and exactly they pronounce the words, because it is a big challenge for Estonian speaking people (and vice versa - even more), since the phonetics of the languages are so different. Also, they are able to catch the right spirit, sound and vibe of the completely different tradition from their own so well! Even knowing that this choir is professional I am still surprised and deeply touched by them, and their singing makes me feel homesick. Thank you!!!
