Oeksound Spiff Delta can sound like a bubbly crackly spectral weirdness thingy, definitely worth testing too. I like what extreme lossy codec compression can do in terms of getting washy ghostly warbly sounds, and I love what noise reduction plugins can end up doing if you misuse it.
Great tutorial David! After some experimenting, I found if you add delays and/or reverbs in the fx chain you can get some really nice sounding crystal / shimmer-like sounds, great texture for magic spells maybe healing spells or some such.
Great content 👌
I didn’t know about Reaper’s drawing plugins. Reaper never disappoints.
For non-Reaper users, tugspect seems very similar functionally to Spectropaint filter

Haven’t experimented much with lossy codec compression. I’ll have to try that out.

Yea for sure. Don’t know if you’ve tried this, but pitch-shifting delay plugins are also great for these types of sounds.
Soothe2 is replacable by spectral compressor, right
Yes, you can do it, but it requires a phase cancelling setup
for the life of me i have no idea why izotope doesnt care about iris anymore. one of my fave tools since forever.
agreed
Thanks for this! Great video!
So cool! Spectropaint sounds best to me. Can you share how to add master waveform scanner on top of the screen?
That waveform scanner is Bird Bird’s Global Sampler. Alpha version is free for Reaper but the full release works on other DAWs.
hi, is there a way to get the spectral synth from reaper in another daw ?
not that I know of
Please do Phase Plant 101 vid
Composing gloves has a great series on it
Hi man, how did u open tthe reaper modulation ? With a shortcut?
There's an action which is something like: show last touched parameter. I also use one which is something like: show all active modulation in project
