    Great use of granulator, I do the same thing all time myself, extremely handy tool for creating chaotic sounds. You can also use it to generate debris layers, by attaching the number of grains to a one shot ADSR and playing with it a bit.
    I have tried using it for vehicles, but unfortunately could not find a use for it in game audio. It would usually become to noisy and lose all character. It could defo work movie stuff though! There are solutions like REV2, but as I understand it does granulation in realtime. We ended up creating a completelly different approach on creating engine loops, which is way longer in production, but it works ahaha

    This was amazing. Thank you so much! Question if you don’t mind: after dragging any wave file into Phaseplant, do you still need to keep that file in the same place so that Phaseplant can keep locating it? Or does Phaseplant create something new within its own ecosystem?

      And hah, that question made my brain shortcircuit. Had to test it immediately - It seems as if PhasePlant saves the used samples within the patches.
      Using a 96KHz file of 13.6 MB resulted in a patch size of 6.8MB, which let's me guess that the sample either gets saved at a maximum samplerate of 48KHz and/or it gets saved in a lossy format. Didn't inspect further (yet) :D

      @@LAxemann Interesting. Most applications will freak if files are moved. (I'm terrible at managing files in the heat of the moment). So this is good to know :D
      I'm not surprised with Phaseplant though. It's just an amazing program. I bought it over a year ago and am just digging into it after getting through a dozen others. I'm glad I ran across your site. I appreciate the extra sleuthing! Subscribed. ✌

    Nice video! Thank you :) The only downside of Kilohearts ecosystem is that Distortion, Phase Distortion and Bitcrush snapins cut out everything above 20k, even at higher sample rates (96 or 192kHz). It was a big disappointment when I noticed it.

      @@MrAw3sum I know he didn't write it down that's why I'm asking. Was that what he was trying to tell us? I don't get why cutting frequencies above 20k would be a bad thing besides poorly implementation of anti aliasing. Maybe you know the answer.

    The layout remonds me a bit of Renoise, you'd be able to do all this using that too

      Renoise is a tracker DAW. In my opinion it's more obtuse to use and generally not a great option for those who are already used to and content with their favorite DAW.

      @@Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand Yeah, I started using it after being used to using Schism Tracker for years, never liked the more modern DAW layouts, however if we're talking editing samples you can do exactly what you seen in the video using Renoise's instrument system which is what I was trying to point out.
