Later it became one of my favorites as I developed my own taste and favorites, with Geeta Dutt Ji being on top of the list. I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic end of this talented composer. Much like unrequited love, there is no greater pain in the world than being unappreciated or underaprreciated. Rejection leaves behind a sharp sting. There is no healing. However, a wasted talent is not an individual's loss but that of the entire art and music world. When this happens, the society ends up holding the short end of the stick. Recognition of talent apart, survival is no small concern. Let's face it: in sheer desperation when an artist ends his own life, the let down leading to such a disastrous end has far greater implications .... WE FAILED HIM!!! It is not the individual's fault but the blame is to be shared equally by the changing trend of music and the tastes of the moviegoers, as well as the profit angle of the movie business ... after all it is BUSINESS and that too a LUCRATIVE ONE. The rule is: if it doesn't sell, it gets discounted or discontinued. An imbalance in the "supply and demand" usually has a sad ending... I am 84 and use to listen good music since years in different media like 78 rpm gramophone records, spool type tape recoders, cassettes, audio CDs, mp3 cds and now on present media like memory card & on youtube. Bulo C. Rani Ji was a very talented Music Director and nobody will ever forget his fantabulous Qawwali "HKE AME TO LOOT LIYA". I was not aware before that Bulo C, Rani Ji commited suicide in 1993, Very Very Sad Indeed. I remember in 1958 this Qawwali was making waves every week on Binaca Geetmaala everytime occupying Higher "PAAY DAAN or RANKING IN THE POPULARITY CHART". I still remember in 1958, this Qawwali was banned by the then President Ayub Khan in Pakistan since it had lyrics in one of the stanzas where they sing "KHUDA AGAR SAWAAL KAREGA JAB KAYAMAT ME, TO HUM BHI KEH DENGE KE HUM LOOT GAYE SHARAFAT ME. Even today, I still wonder what was wrong in these lyrics, at least I could not find anything wrong. But this is how it goes.

There are quite a few Urdu words used even when Hindi equivalents are available eg saaz instead of vaadya, so not accurate to say it is pure Hindi.
