I've modded my RK 84 to the tee and it sounded amazing, but after a few months (like many others have posted on forums) it started key stroke stuttering....as if a key was being held down. I swapped out switches and the issue still persisted. I even got a warranty swap since I bought mine off of Amazon, and that one started having the same issue within weeks. I since then stopped using Royal Kludge keyboards and got a Feker IK75 and have never looked back. I loved the design and features of the RK84, but that key stroke stuttering is an absolute failure in my book.
Most of the things I knew regarding that matter is they do put electric tape on the 3rd layer to make it safer. (and I didn't 😅) As long as the battery is not punctured, the wires are intact, no leaked and not exposed to heat then that should be fine.. And also dont leave it charging for a long time.
I suggest it would be better to have a cut out on the battery position just to be a little safer. But still the decision is up to you if you wanted. Still I wont recommended tho :) Hope I helped 😊

Hi! When did you bought this? I thought newer RK84 comes with factory foams?

P.S No amazon links yet, only local lazada online store is available.
I have the same keycap set. It has yellow stains after limited use.
I hope it'll last quite sometime before it reaches that stage 😬
Is it dangerous to tape mod the keyboard that has a battery in it? I heard that it can make a fire hazard or something like that

@@techbudx i have rkg68 and i want to put a eva foam on the case, should i cover the battery with the foam too or shouldn’t i?

Should have done the 2nd sound test without the mouse pad as well, and remove that variable.
