I run a swinging blade on a quad tractor and now I'm learning how to do some other things. Running GPS topcon system, and tremble. Would it be more beneficial after this season to take on some classes and get certified through this program ?
Lol its like the old saying its not what you know is who you know well long story short i was able to have contact with the director that runs 2 cities or that area she told me just apply and she'll put me on the waiting list it happens once a year in april training for 6 weeks then you go straight to work. Start at $32 and something an hr for whatever you do and the best thing about it the school is free your first year you'll make 60k gross after that it jus goes up and up 💰💰 4th and 5th year 100k and stays in that range
I just watched the orientation video last night. I'm worried about making the jump. I've been a licensed crane operator for a private company for 11 years. If I do the 6 week training, how soon do you think I can start working? I can't afford to be jobless. I'm supporting my wife and 2 kids.

Have your son apply for the local 332 inside wireman Apprenticeship. Applications accepted first week of the month every month. Current Journeyman wage is $83 an hour. Submit application, take Algebra &reading comprehension test, oral interview, drug screening. That's it. Higher pay than any classification in local 3 with lifelong opportunities for sidework. Oh and no 6 weeks of unpaid training.
The laborers be getting fleeced! After the initial 900 to get in recognized as a journeyman for my 20+ years in the trades outside of the halls they want 50 a month and then when we get our vacation check they take half for "supplemental dues" and the out of work list stagnates, in my case stagnated me to death. I can't get a job with non unionized companies because I'm recognized as a union supporter and the participating companies are nepotistic beyond imagination. Dei is the coup de gras, and if one says something about that garbage or our master agreement or devil forbid OSHA/mutcd guidelines then the companies blacklist you. No loyalty no honesty no pride no integrity. And with wage theft and ridiculous commutes there have been days where I was working to work! 6 hours commute in a company vehicle transporting materials from the yard to the site after loading the truck and having a stiff 8hours only shift policy I'm looking at 2 hours to do laundry, go shopping, cook dinner, bathe, prepare lunch, take a dump, interact with my dog, call Nana, maintenance for home & vehicles as needed ... One finds that 8 hours sleeping is infrequently achieved.... Then when a company stops issuing dispatch orders, suspiciously after you mention what you read in and feel the master agreement implies about those hours prior to and following your tight shift on the work site ... And when you mention this to your rep they say some shit about "at will"... I'm stuck wondering why? And what the fudge nickel neck jerking duck butter baby slurping crunchy regurgitated pink eye spray parasites ripping my pockets can I end them with extreme prejudice cuz it hurts to breathe while they do too? I feel I'd be completely justified because I just want to join a company that will take care of me while I'm taking care of them. It hurts.. good night.. if I stop breathing in my sleep it's the best case scenario and the only scenario that I see leading to a good night cuz the morning that follows is just more nightmare

Just got the call for the apprenticeship training took over 5 years to get the call and thats with scoring higher than most
