  • Trying to resolve back, butt, and sciatica pain can feel like a chore. You may feel like you have to do certain things, in a certain way, or else you’ll stay stuck. But this overly rigid framework for resolving pain increases the pressure, raises the stakes, and keeps people stuck in problem-solving mode.
Most approaches make people worse for these reasons and soon enough, you start to associate movement with pain and become jaded to treatment (treatment doesn’t work).
If this is you, watch this video and try on this recommendation.

Great video. I started with not being able to get out of bed and/or walk and was devastated as I had a few backpacking trips I cancelled. Fast forward six weeks and in PT, etc., hurts to stand, walk, sit, lie, whatever, soooo, I backpacked 3 little miles, hiking poles helped. I DID IT!
Pain yes. Same if sitting on the couch…but am out there.

Well Doc, the foot with the dead navicular opened but the foot that had a broken ankle is stubborn to open up to the range of motion I'm trying to overcome...

Thank you Dr. Charlie. I enjoy your narratives. I practice your basic suggestion of Mind, Movement and Meditation. I've found that focusing on the pain expands the pain. Om in such a good place now and hyper aware of movements that perpetuate pain and I've changed a lot of movement and mind sets and it has helped tremendously. Thank you.😊

The only yummy movement that I have found is sitting. I've done a bunch of the recommended exercises over the past 12 weeks, with some improvement (the muscles of the painful hip are definitely stronger), but I still hurts when I walk. Directly after standing up, my hip is pain free, but the longer I walk, the worse it hurts. As a result, I sit almost all of the time and that is making me miserable.

I’m loving walking and even enjoyed a short gentle jog. Definitely yummy movements.
Still some minor pain on sitting now and then but trying not to dwell on it ❤

Do you think there is ever a need for Chiro care?

I find that some chiro’s seem to forget there are muscles, tendons, nerves, and mind connections attached to injuries, not just bones!
