- Stellar Blade offers a variety of challenging boss fights, both required and optional, much like Souls-like games such as Dark Souls or Elden Ring. This video is all footage from my first playthrough, showing my first reactions and fights against bosses like the Malenia-reminiscent Tachy, the grotesque Democrawler, the avian Unidentified Naytiba, the acrobatic Raven, the devastating mech Providence, and the awe-inspiring Elder Naytiba.

2024 Game Of The Year
It’s got my vote but for real actual contender this year for sure

@@playzaid4k combat, animations, music and graphics are all phenomenal. Other parts are good or mid, none of the aspects of the game are terrible by any means. Also, I'm not saying Stellar Blade is Elden Ring or Sekiro GOTY material, just that it's an amazing game which this year deserves to be the best so far, unless some masterpiece comes out later this year. Comparing Stellar Blade to other games that came out this year, only Helldivers 2 can compete for GOTY, other games haven't really live up to the standard. And helldivers 2 despite the awesome game it is, it's of worse quality than Stellar Blade

If this game doesn't win some music awards this year you know its all rigged. Easily one of the best soundtracks in any game I've ever played.
I recommend you get yourself the score of the three first Mass Effect games. They are all instrumental, partl of them synthesizer, part classical orchestra music. The third game in my pantheon of all time best game music is the score of Elder Scrolls Sykrim.
I hope it gets nominated. But there’s been a few games already released that I’m betting will be nominated as well.
FF7 Rebirth for starters.
Yeah it better get a nomination for best music, the soundtrack is incredibly rich yet consistent. I don't think it beats FF7 Rebirth though but it comes damn close which is an amazing feat.
Problem is, ff7 rebirth’s music is just as good if not better. I don’t think it’s possible to listen to both ff7R and stellar blade and think one winning over the other is “rigged.” both have incredible OSTs.

@@ducky4605 lol even soundtrack yeah, it is fine. Still not the best. FF16 soundtrack was way better than Stellar Blade easy, which is why it won in 2023, along with others that will be and win 2024. But it is fine.

Raven and the mech where the only bosses to kick my butt multiple times on normal. Great game. Going to try hard mode on new game plus the next time.

yesterday I saw another woman play this game to the end and while Raven explained her motives during her boss fight, the player said _"I have no clue what she is talking about?!"_ And after Adam explained his fusion plan to EVE, the player said _"I have no clue what is going on. What shall I do?"_
There are players who don't understand the story even at the very end of the game, while other players complain that the several explanations from NPCs are coming from "Captain Obvious" and are too redundant (The story is also told via the memories of the Legion's soldiers and also via Raven's "Legacy" holograms).
I feel you, honestly pains me to watch some of them. How can you not be invested in a game you’re playing? Such a waste of a good story.
Well, as a game director of a story-driven game you can never cater to ALL player types: there are a) people who only care about the gameplay and don't actively pay attention to the story, b) people who understand and know (almost) everything by the time Eve completes Matrix 11 which is like halfway through the game, and c) really dumb people that won't understand anything no matter what.
@@ChaoTix.S I agree it is a wasted opportunity to appreciate the story. But I acknowledge that some players are generally not interest in story but only interested in action. For me, the story is the most important part of any game, which is why the Mass Effect series is my all time favorite game.
In the case of Stellar Blade, I am pleasantly surprised by how good the story is (and by the fact that nobody elaborated on it in video essays yet), although I agree with those players who say that its twists are telegraphed too obviously.
I am a player who searches for each and every piece of story the game has to offer, which means the Legion soldiers' memories alone are vastly sufficient info to understand the story. Because Raven's Legacy logs are a summary of that story, those are redundant. They are obviously included to allow for understanding the story if the Legion soldiers' memories are ignored by the player. I assume that the game creator wanted to offer both a puzzle "game" for players like me who enjoy to investigate things and build story theories, and a quickly available summary (by Raven) for those players who dont like to read info texts. Perhaps that conundrum could have been solved better, as the Mass Effect series showed how it is done perfectly.
@@schmerztablette-yn7ft I think the solution is to not make any story info redundant. Some story parts may be optional towards the player if they are not mandatory for understanding the story.
@@schmerztablette-yn7ft The very first time everything clicked was in Altess Levoire. The truth behind Naytibas etc. After Matrix 11 it was crystal clear I agree.
But I think it’s very unfair for such players to give their opinion on the story if they’re not invested. You can’t say this story is bad when you have no clue what’s going on in the first place. Just doesn’t make sense.

The drone gun is so underated. I used stinger ammo to finish Tachy off. The shotgun and explosive shells do crazy damage to the bosses.
The shotgun in new game+ is so goddamn strong.

A shining example of "spam it to win it" game play.
Given heavy attacks and she just spams only light attacks and the random burst skills that makes no sense.

I feel bad for the people boycotting the game, they are missing out.
Like watching your video
The bosses become kind of a joke if you use Beta generation gear and just throw them off their feet every 5 seconds. Best combo to keep them in stunlock is L1 + Circle for instant knockdown from a distance, then while the boss is recovering you charge L1+X (both skills fully upgraded obviously). For the windows in between where you can't perform any skills, you throw a shock grenade. At the beginning of the fight or at the beginning of phase 2 (depending on the boss) you go Tachy and when they're low HP you go Tachy again.
Cheesy but highly effective and basically trivializes every single encounter, including the hardest bosses at the end because you can't really die if you cancel so many of their strongest moves. (If you need some additional damage in between, use explosive rounds which also keep most bosses in a stunlock. The shotgun can also cancel a lot of red combos and yellow attacks.)
Remember: The game is somewhat challenging (at least towards the end) if you only play the parry/dodge game but it becomes really easy if you choose to use all the tools Eve has at her fingertips.
You can cheese them like this but why would you ruin your own experience by doing that? Same applies with other souls or souls-like games.
@@kenethernandez6246 You're not really ruining your experience if you're having fun. Also, going for fast kills might be good practice for the boss rush mode they are going to implement. Waiting for the boss to attack and then parry will not be a fast way of winning.
