    Consciously dropping this on Neil’s birthday? Bravo, sounds great!

    So glad Origin made this. I own a pair of 50’s 5E3 Deluxes(a ‘54 & ‘56) and love them. I’d much rather buy one of these than take a valuable vintage amp to a gig. I thought about getting one of the Universal Audio version but their spotty craftsmanship put me off. Craftsmanship is what defines Origin Effects so I have no qualms about ordering one of these. Now off to Sweetwater to buy one…

    Tweed Deluxe has such a great, classic tone. There are many records and live artists I love who have used them. In terms of what I personally like to use, I admit I’ve always struggled with that flubbiness you mentioned. When it comes to cranking an amp up, I personally always need to be able to at least cut bass. I find myself wishing the Deluxe had the same tone stack as a tweed Bassman. But then it wouldn’t have the same character that people love about the Deluxe.

    It would have been nice to have a control knob to adjust the "crossover distortion amount" of the power tubes/FETS. If you want zero crossover distortion or a crossover distortion Hump between the Positive Cycle and Negative Cycle push pull. Adding in a 2nd footswitch to go from a very Jangle Cleans like Mike Campbell to a Neil Young Fuzzy Collapsing which 2nd footswitch would allow switching between the two settings. A 2nd footswitch makes its easier to use the pedal for going from a Jangle Cleans 12AT7 or 12AU7 setting to a Fuzzy Collapsing 12AX7 setting

    Any plans for a dedicated super lead pedal? I guess you have all the ingredients at this point. :)

    will there be a "reverb deluxe" or "Twin" someday? I'm not happy with the feel and response with digital stuff, and I'm a "clean tone" palayer with archtops, and semi-accoustics : )

      You never know what the future holds, we certainly want to do more amp pedals!
      Naturally these things take a lot of time to develop and nail down. So patience is always going to be the game.

      They have a brownface deluxe with the deluxe61 if that's clean enough.

      @@veers0r no, that's the reason why I'm referring to Princeteon reverb deluxe and Twin. (and thats why I sell the Magma57 and keep the strymon iridium)

    My only question about this pedal, what amp do you plug into? All my amps have tubes, its like using a pedal that simulates a fender while plugged into a fender. Lol

    • @OriginEffectsUK

      Whatever amp you like with use of the POST-EQ. We run it into all sorts of Fender Blackpanel, Marshall and other amps.

    I feel like these are lost on players or overlooked thinking they’re just distortion pedals, which models have built in IRs?

    But if i put this Pedal infront of my Toneking the Preamp and the Speaker would Change the Sound Charakter of the Pedal to the own voice of the Toneking?

    6v6 preamp pedal? Balderdash!!

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  13 дней назад +1

      The pedal itself is modelling (in analogue) the 6V6 people amp of the Tweed Deluxe. The pedal itself contains no valves.

    Where the 5E3 really shines is right at the point of initial breakup ... the amp surrounds each note with a warm blanket, as though they are completely wrapped in harmonics. Beyond that point, you can keep that muddy, ratty distortion.

    You have repeated the waveform, but not the pattern of harmonics! Without this, the sound will remain cold and flat. I'm telling you as the owner of your three pedals. And try to use the transformer completely, and not the primary winding on the drain load.

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  16 дней назад +10

      We've done quite extensive design and test work to ensure the pedal and the amp are as close as can be, and the DELUXE55 is our most advanced guitar Amp Recreation to date.
      The waveform is a representation of the harmonic content of the signal. The DELUXE55 performs as the amp does in this regard. Were the pattern of the harmonics different, the waveform of the signal would also differ to reflect that.
      The DELUXE55 doesn't contain a transformer as it is unnecessary in recreation of the sonics and feel.

    • @Stereostupid
      @Stereostupid 15 дней назад

      Is this a similar method of analog amp design that quilter uses? By recreating the signal with Jfets and opamps instead of tubes then matching sign waves of the harmonic content? That's very hard to do I believe origin deserves massive props... credit for hard work and creativity !
