I watch these reactions for three moments- the first time Medley says "Baby", the first time Hatfield jumps in and people hear his tenor on its own, and "Bring It On Back." Worth the watch every time.
Man, the amount of times comments like this show up in reactions for black people is curious. I don't think they all believe autotune has always existed.
Welcome to what is known as blue-eyed soul. These guys were the best at it, and they did not have any voice enhancers or other similar technology. Nothing but pure, unadulterated talent. Simply the best at what they did.
Many African-Americans bought their records thinking that they were black, Keep in mind in those days people bought 45's, most of which had no picture on the cover. They are the epitome of blue eyed soul. Loved your reaction.
I believe Elvis Presley was blue eyed soul. I’m 68 & am from that generation. Forget all the rock songs he sang, listen to the deeper ones. Like “In the Ghetto” he grew up from poverty. Then their is “If I Can Dream” about the assassinations of Martin Luther King & President Kennedy. He had soul.
I still give the edge to Simon & Garfunkel. Best harmonies ever!! But I love that these guys sound so good/different from one another on their own and sound great together too. This song is one of the best examples.
The BEAUTIFUL RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS BLUE EYED SOUL!!!! Together or solos they bring it!!!! I loved them then & STILL love these men!! Bill Medely dies a solo of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" just blew me away. And if course Bobby's "Unchained Melody" is (words are failing me!!) just righteous!!! His 1965 live version!! When Bill sang his solo if Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" I just melted. These med were sooooo very soulful!! Keep them going younger generation!!!! 🥰❤️🌹☮️🎼🎵🎶 Keep them going!!! 🎼🎶🎵❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹
It is amazing, that performance was done in December 1964, and the Unchained Melody performance you reviewed was a few months later in 1965. Between that time color was invented by John G. Color - it made all the difference in the world. Before then the world was in black, white and shades of gray! Just joshing, of course. Seriously, a really good reaction to two of the best performances ever recorded. Sadly Bobby Hatfield passed from this world 19 years ago (2003) - WAY too young, we really miss him. People, PLEASE don't do drugs, Bobby died from a cocaine induced heart attack.
I love your reaction, you can tell it hit your soul when that first raspy note came to. You know how I can tell? Your eyes shot open and your respirations changed. That is an amazing thing.
"The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 73 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century. "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told them…. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
I just have to give a huge thanks to all our black countrymen and women. Without you, we would have no soul, rock and blues music. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude!
Fabulous reaction. Loved that you didn't stop it many times to talk. You facial reaction during the video said it all. Most people back in the day thought they were black only hearing them on the radio...and were "shocked" to learn they were white seeing them on TV. Blue Eyed Soul this was called. Playing in a black club in their early days before fame (very unusual at the time for whites) someone shouted : " That's righteous, brothers! " and that's how they got their name. 😊
I love watching these songs. I remember watching my Mom and Dad dancing to this song and they even use to dance in the grocery stores when this song would come on in the stores. People use to watch thrm dance til it was done. I miss them so much. Dad passed in 2007 and Mom in 2014...

I don't care how many times I see this video of the Righteous Brothers singing this song I get goosebumps! Even after all these years. I was 8 years old when this song was released & I've always loved it.
It was the magic of recording producer extraordinaire Phil Spector that helped create 'The Righteous Brothers' sound on this most played song in the history of radio...'You Lost That Loving Feeling.' Brilliant!
They called themselves the righteous brothers after a performance and an African American waiter couldn't believe their voices and said "man you brothers are righteous!" They were also called blue eyed soul because of their sound as well. You should listen to their song "I just want to make love to you", I think you'd enjoy it. Great reaction doll, I loved it :)
they were called The righteous Brothers After a set,at El Toro Marine base, one of the Black Marines shouted out, "That's righteous brothers! And they adopted the name thier style of music became known as Blue Eyed Soul
Misty Blue my mother was a little incorrect in her story she told me long ago I guess. But that's what I meant by the blue eyed soul, that their style was named that not that it was another name for them.
That is a very true story, not a lot of people know that and that's why they spell righteous the way they did because that's how that's African-American waiter, thought they were Blue Eyed Soul and he called them righteous
I love seeing young people enjoying the "Golden Oldies" The Righteous Brothers made every woman feel like they were singing the song 🎵 just for them, saying in a song 🎵 🎶 what we women want to hear

@@ammaleslie509 You are not incorrect.
Pure heart and talent they put everything into this song no gimmicks just pure talent absolutely beautiful inside and out
When singers could actually sing without autotune, and mechanically altered voice. Live!!!
Facts!!💯
But it was a 60s singer that brought autotune to the mainstream (cher was first mainstream artist to use it in the 90s)
