This song was played more than any other song on the radio in the 20th century !! Read that again ! The Beatles ! The Rolling Stones ! Elvis Presley ! Michael Jackson ! And countless others all had huge hits but no song was played more than this one !! Blue eyed soul !! These guys were incredible
"I Just Want To Make Love To You" - you NEED to hear this one! The Righteous Brothers were the iconic group in the 60's. And their songs were also iconic - no one equals them. Great reaction.
Your smiles said all that needed to be said! I love it when young people are introduced to these guys! And you haven't stopped smiling since it started, I'm sure my smile matched yours! Great reaction fellas! I was seven years old in 1964 and I remember this performance! Continued good luck with your channel!
I'm 45 years old. Grew up listening to these guys with my grandparents. Always loved their music. It was like 6 months ago, I figured out that they were white.. 😂
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
Very happy to see you fellas react to MY era of music! I was born in Texas in 1958. I grew up in the '70's '80's music gen that had GREAT singers, lyrics you could actually hear and relate to, and with many STILL popular 40 to 50 years later! THAT was music! The Bee Gees were ruling music then. Old school still rules music, overall, in my opinion.
They always did separate songs on their albums to play to their different voices, as well as singing as a duet. Bill's version of "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" will blow your minds...
It fades out because someone has replaced the live audio with the studio recording. The real live performance is available on RUclips...there is no fade out.
Well, as promised I am about to see you do this react. You get to see his brother wail. Their voices are totally different. They managed to weld them together like magic. Get ready, they're going to surprise you... I see you enjoyed it... I saw this song get a second chance for a lot of relationships. Ask your grandma, I bet she remembers the Righteous Brothers. Even though society at large was still pretty segregated, their music was played in black AND white clubs and their concerts were one of the first places where both blacks and whites found common ground and managed to enjoy each others' company. This video was a tv appearance.
May the Lord bless you, my brothers. It is indeed a challenging task to go back and explore our roots, while still remaining open to new, positive experiences. The majority of people tend to mindlessly follow the crowd, which is why I applaud you for taking the time and effort to broaden your own perspectives. It's even more commendable that you are helping others expand their own horizons as well. Remember to always continue learning and growing, and never hesitate to lend a helping hand to those around you.
There both simply amazing and handsome and best ever happened!!!! To the music industry of 🎶❤ music Thank you both for playing this song brings back alot of great memories Luv you all
I'm so happy for your reactions! It brings back a blast from the past (I was only 4 years old when this song came out). Yet somehow I grew up hearing it along with 'Unchained Melody'. The great thing is now there is a way for everyone to see and hear it that isn't just radio oldies. I love your reaction to their voices. Thank you. :)
Check them out singing (Little Latin Lupe Lu) Bill Medley wrote the song when he was 19 and he and Bobby Hatfield were called The Paramours It is about his Spanish girlfriend who knew every popular dance... In the song, he lists all the dances she can do, and as he does the background girls do that dance. they switch from one dance step to the other without stopping as soon as he sings a different dance name, At the end, The Righteous Brothers are doing a dance called The Swim. And they get down with their bad selves.
Ok boys you’ve got to listen to another one of their biggest hits Soul and Inspiration just love you’ll reaction to my generation of music another band you might want to check out the BeeGees. 3 brothers who can harmonize like Nobody else can. Listen to Too Much Heaven and a song you might know but didn’t know who sung it Staying Alive. Thanks boys this old grandma likes your channel
They played alot in Black niteclubs. A couple of times when they walked on stage and the people saw these White guys, they would boo them. When they started singing the crowd could not get enough of them. It was a Black guy in the audience that inspired the name as he yelled out and said 'that's righteous brothers'.
Don't know where the black club thing came from. It was just a club, not black or white. (Orange County, CA didn't have a large enough number of black residents to have lots of black clubs or anything else.) It was called John's Black Derby. However, some black Marines from the El Toro Marine base which was nearby the club heard there were some white guys singing R & B. They went to check them out; they really liked them and continued to frequent the club during the months the guys played there. It was the Marines who started calling them righteous brothers. Righteous was the equivalent of cool. It was Buddy Holly who was invited to play the Apollo Theater sight unseen. When he and his band arrived, the organizers were shocked that they were white, and they were booed at first. It's seems this story gets conflated with a number of performers.
@@Aurora-tp3dy Yes, the guys did play in a lot of Black niteclubs. I do not doubt your post of the actual place that they got their name, but they did play Black clubs. Bobby even dated the lead singer of the Blossoms.
@@Joskemom No, Bill dated Darlene Love, not Bobby. They met the Blossoms when they both appeared on Shindig. (Don't know how it follows that Bill dated Darlene in the '70s so, therefore, they sang in "black" clubs in the '60s. Unless, that isn't what you were trying to say.) Bill said Orange County was the whitest place in the country -- a bit of hyperbole perhaps, but he made his point. Did they perform before mixed race audiences...sure. But, black clubs the way you mean. Nope.
Sorry just went through the comments, I maybe the youngest fan on this reaction.. Love all of you in the comments, I wasn't born then, but I so appreciate the music!! If I couldn't listen to music, I wouldn't understand a lot of life, living. Understanding? Music says things that words can not. Rhythm and Blues, soul, Rock, Country, Rap ( All different styles of rap!). I was more of Beasties Boys, Tupac#1, Then Em of rap, They always told stories, I'm A lyrical person first.. Then the flow and Beat.. If you are more open to story telling, I can give you Some good Country, Rock, hairbands, R&B, Soul that you'll both Love.. And it will help get subscribers.. Just saying..

These guys are fantastic as a duo but also individually too! They do not have a bad song. You need to hear Bobby Hatfield the tenor singer sing Summertime, he will blow your mind! And you also need to listen to Bill Medley the bass singer sing All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You. Then listen to them sing You”ll Never Walk Alone on the Ed Sullivan Show. They also sing Just Once In My Life, Soul and Inspiration, Little Latin Lupe Lu, and the list just goes on and on. I’m serious when I say they do not have a bad song. Also Bill Medley sang the song I’ve Had The Time Of My Life for the movie Dirty Dancing. ❤
No School like the Old School ‼️‼️💯
Absolutely baby
Isn't that the truth?
It was great being a teenager in the 60s. I'm 76 now. We had the best music ever.
Oh yes you got that right at least you can understand them and they have a sexy voice
Right behind you @ 74
76 here too. Saw them in Ssn Diego with the love of my life Sharon. She is still the love of my life . They were AMAZING.

Young generation have no idea what they are missing in music. Thank goodness for reactions.
Most radio played song of the 20th century!
No auto tune. No computers. Just two guys singing soulful into a microphone.
Just natural talent, which was required in those days
Love watching young guys smiling at this old music
Ya’ll are so cute. This is music
that lasts a lifetime. This song came out in 1964. How cool is that?
64? I thought it was 66?
How can you not love these guys? Amazing voices and real professionals.
This was a tv variety show (Hullabaloo) with all the singers who recorded on the Phil Spector label. They are all shown in the background.
It was the show Shindig.
I’m looking at the happiness on your faces, this is the music we were lucky enough to grow up with, enjoy❤❤
Your reactions are the best, and it does my old heart good to see a new generation rediscovering terrific music!
