What a beautiful machine. I have used reel to reel decks professionally since the late seventies and still regularly use a Tascam Model 30 in my studio everyday so I am very excited to see a NEW deck becoming available! SO beautiful!
@@ChristopheMartinez_22 I am wondering what kind of tension sensors are used, inductive? The tension arms have an unusually small travel. I am also making a control system for a tape recorder based on mechanics similar to the Rrevox A-700. @@leoniv. For the tension sensor, it's a new technology, but I can't tell you more about it, before patenting it ... The small travel it's only for absorb the non concentricity of the tape. Good job for your control system for a tape !
@@ChristopheMartinez_22 Thank! My project is non-commercial, for home use. I wanted to use strain gauges that have almost zero arm travel, but it turned out to be bad. The travel is needed to eliminate the loop when changing modes.

At 2:03, the tension drops to zero during braking, resulting in a slack in the magnetic tape.

@@leoniv. It's not easy to produce a good regulation loop, it's a big issue, especially when you have small or heavy tape ...
