Hello Everyone i am back with another Large Pneumatic Powered Vehicle, What sort of Vehicle should I build next? I thought about building a Pneumatic 18 wheeler (semi truck), do you like that idea? Comment down below. 😀
Looks great and a nice use of that engine! How does it perform torque-wise compared to the electric engines, can in climb a steeper slope? What is the range of the vehicle with one charge of air?
Thanks, electric motors that are a equivalent in total power are always going to be better for start up torque. However LPE's like this one compared to LEGO line up of Electric motors produce many times the power for the same size and weight, remember you also need battery packs for the motors. This engine (on 55 psi) has about the power of 4-5XL's running on 9v, approximately. As seen in the Chassis video this truck can climb small slopes and go over rough terrain, but it can't go up 40 degree slopes like LEGO trial trucks built for competition. But then it was built to be a Trial Truck, only a Scale truck. on 4.5L of Air (at 55psi) it will run for around 1 minute (on concrete), i'm not sure how far. probably like 100m or so.
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop out of curiosity, do you think you can use an electronic motor that spins a pneumatic, creating a continuous supply of compressed air instead of those clunky bottles? That way the electric engine would keep on making compressed air until the battery drains, lasting much longer
@@cyborgpunk6668 pumps of any kind thatll fit on the truck will not be able to produce that much in so little time. A costly, but likely effective solution would be buying a paintball tank pumped up to either 3000 or 4500 psi. Buy regulators to reduce the psi output. .45 liters of air compressed to 4500 psi is the equivalent of about 36 liters of air compressed to 55 psi. Not sure how to do the math on that, but it would last hopefully a few more minutes than the 4.5 liter 55 psi solution
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop You could potentially put a small air compressor on the chassis itself, connected to the air tanks. It could then be controlled by another electric motor to turn it on and off. Run low on PSI? Pump it up again without having to stand up.
With some revision to the body, you could easily make an Oshkosh HEMTT. Custom air tank could be utilized to resemble the fuel tank on an M978 fuel service truck
This is better than any set Lego has put out. I wish they'd use pneumatics in more stuff so I could get my hands on it more easily. All I can do right now is single cylinder engines, but I'd like to do stuff like this.
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop Yep, I have been. Single cylinder engines are fun, but the more cylinders the better. I might make a bricklink order in the spring for a bunch of cylinders and switches.
Uuuuh, that transition from the picture to the actual truck, not just awesome building skills, but nice video editing skills aswell! Keep up the great work! Much love and greetings from Germany :)
This is awesome, but imo, the only thing that could make this better would be some kind of transmission so you could have low gears for climbing and high gears for more speed
A tracked vehicle with an LPE-Engine would be cool, maybe a Vityaz dt30 or any tank really ^^ Would be very cool to see an Adder/Subtractor gearbox there, a great challange too.
I've been looking at pneumatic engines, and noticed small Pneumatic vehicles gave limitied run time. How well you think this would work with a lightweight compressed nitrogen cylinder?
Wish i had the Legos to do this just got power function motors for Christmas. I have built a semi with them i wish it had suspension i am now re trying pneumatics because last time i kept messing up the timing nice truck though i love all of your creations keep up the good work. 👍
I have a question. Why don’t you just use a compact Lego air compressor that uses a small motor? It would produce air for the truck and you wouldn't have to use ugly bottles.
You should attach a custom lego air compressor to the engine and connect it to an expansion tank and connect the expansion tank to the main air tank, which goes to the engine.
5n0wm3n's Lego , I'm so sorry I think you misunderstood my intentions. I didn't mean to promote my channel, I have already told Green Gecko's Lego Technic Workshop about this video. I was simply informing him that I uploaded it. That's all. By the way I've had people come to my channel asking for sub for sub and I don't support it.

thank you, i have chosen not to make instructions due to the size and how complex this model is. i am making instructions for the axles and Pneumatic engine.
thank you, i am using a Nikon d5600 DSLR. i will be upgrading to the SONY a6500 in a month, because the cameras auto focus is not the best and other reasons. the a6500 also has the same sensor tho. i recommend have a look at the SONY a6300 if you don't need a MIC jack. Nikon cameras are excellent for photography but for video Sony, Panasonic and Cannon are better for the similar prices.
@@Altgottt I have looked into Fuji, (actually i used a FujiFilm to start this channel) but i am going to stick with Sony as i already have invested in there system. I ended up buying the a6300, and in a few months i will get a A7 3 or A7s 3 as a Second Camera.
I have built a automatic transmission before, But i have not put a auto in a LPE powered vehicle yet. My New LPE powered Vehicle, will probably have a Automatic gear box or Manual RC operated one.
Can't you use a metal pressure tank that you can fill with a higher pressure and adjust to your required pressure via a valve? So you should have a greater range with less space. Sorry for the bad english I had to use a translator.
I think that if you have attached a pump to an s motor it could be running without that bottles with compressed air. If one would not make enough pressure u could satck two or three of them.
Hello. Wonderful one, this is just my dream to do this me and my son. Any blueprints / tutorial around? And / or more informations on required Lego pieces types and amount?
Gecko, what about using a modifyied compressor instead of air tanks, you think that would be possible? Maybe mechanically controlled to not be dependent or minimally dependent on batteries.
air produce even flow of air, air compressors by them selves don't. it would take at least 20 lego compressors for the same power as the tanks. it is easier just to run air tanks. i will try taking them up to 140 psi and regulating them down to 55 in the future for more range. thanks
I try try and don't have any positive resultats :( I try to make 1 small cylinder lpe, but I only modify cylinder not switch. Is it possible to make lpe without modifing switch ?
I have a question that still remain unanswered. Would it be possible tu pair a pneumatic engine with a lego air compressor running on a battery, to make the truck truly remote controlled? i would love to see that.

That engine sound is unbelievably close to the real thing. Of course the sound is not as massive as in a real Tatra but the general feel is there.
yeah, when i first started it up to film the chassis video i was amazed. it sounds even better in real life ; )
The coolest lego truck on RUclips ever! Great work!
thanks

Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop you are good man
Some tracked vehicle or a really small pickup truck with inline-1(or 2) engine
yes i will film that in the future, i have already done that before i put the LPE into this truck. Results were amazing
im keen on building a tracked vehicle
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop you should build a lego technic pneautic drift car. Awsome truck by the way
You did exactly what I wanted to do... use a controller as a remote control and more on an off-road.
FANTASTIC.
great job
thanks
I could watch clips of that masterpiece driving around all day!
This is probably the best lpe powered vehicle i ever saw! Great work, you are very talented.
thank you
Awesome work and demonstration. Never thought Pneumatic engine can do something like this!
thank you, i am keen to build some mid scale Trial Trucks soon. one might even have a LPE

Try it a Coleman lamp propane tanks with some kind of regulatory valve
propane may damage the cylinders (too cold)

yes
Looks really nice, and hope the fuel lasts long ehnoug.
