    You have had a lifetime worth of great fishing in just one year. Is this year your best year ever. Feelings like I have seen so many amazing fish catches and yet I still have like 45 videos that I haven't seen. Keep up the great work.

    Great days on the water often start out slow but you had a great day out there. I have a silicone trout net that is much easier to get the hooks out of than my rubber coated Frabil net but I love the longer handle of the Frabil. Seeing that Loon eat that chunky little Bass, just goes to show what they can do to a smaller pond when they take up residence. Ive seen them eat 12” trout but they are much more slender than a Bass. Great footage ! Congrats on the new Maine PB you nailed the weight guess. Those are definitely the kind of days we dream of .

      @OldLadyAngler  Месяц назад

      Thanks Don. Epic day for sure! I was wondering how bad of a hit a lake can take from Loons. Good thing, there are usually only a few loons per lake around here. They're so FAST underwater.

      @@OldLadyAngler it’s my understanding that an adult loon consumes approximately 2 pound of fish a day , so that fish probably satisfied him for a while but think about how many new of the year bass he needs to eat….. Two adults and a couple of young ones will probably consume 600 - 700 lbs of fish in the5 months they are in a pond before they leave for the winter. That is a lot of fish !

I actually had a face time with him several years ago when one of my subscribers was at his opening for the store front in Denton TX. He waited in line to meet Jon and then when it was his turn, he had me on face time and jon and I chatted for a quick minute. I doubt he'd remember me. It would be AMAZING to do a collab with him.

    Happy Friday! I have 2 questions for ya....first is, how do you set your drag on your Curado DC's? Do you lock it down tight or use your thumb to let line out? And question #2 is if you had to pick one, which would you pick.......fishing in Maine year around IF the temps never got super cold or fishing in Florida year around if the temps never got above 75 degrees?

    • @OldLadyAngler
      @OldLadyAngler  Месяц назад

      I don't have a technical way that I set my DC drag. I just go by feel. I don't use my thumb at all. It's all done by the drag system. Hmmm. I guess if temperatures were not a factor, I'd have to go with Florida. The Bass are twice the size there and I can fish areas for numbers if I choose to (South Florida). BUT I have to say, the scenery is 100 times better up here in Maine. No question about that.
