Fit & Flexible upper body - November 15

  • As with all exercise programs and when using exercise videos, you need to use common sense. To reduce and avoid injury, you will want to check with your doctor before beginning any fitness program.     Here's an upper body workout to start your week off. We will begin this session with "The Wake Up" to wake up our energy and work the organs and energy meridians. Enjoy!
    Warm up:
    The "Wake Up". Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth during the entire Wake Up
    1. Tap under the collar bones on each side with both hands. Works the kidneys
    2. Tap one hand the breast bone (slight bump on the center of the chest). Works the thymus
    3. Tap the low rib cage on each side with both hands. Works the spleen
    Brush off hands
    1. Tap very lightly under the eyes with both hands. Works the stomach
    Brush off hands
    1. Tap right hand to right knee and left hand to left knee
    2. Tap right hand to left knee and left hand to right knee
    Brush off hands
    1. Zip up. Bring hands to low belly, inhale hands up and overhead and exhale down and out to side and back to low belly 3 times
    2. Hook up. Place one middle finger lightly on belly button and one middle finger lightly on the place between the eye brows just slightly above the eye brows. Push the fingers in slightly and pull up slightly. Hold for 3 full breaths- in through the nose and out through the mouth
    Brush off hands
    Shoulder rolls
    Shoulder shrugs
    Upper body:
    1. Cross body bicep curls
    2. Single tricep overhead extensions (or tricep kickbacks)
    3. Bent over rows with palms out
    4. Around the world
    5. Bent elbow shoulder rotations
    6. Six way shoulder raise
    Core:
    1. Seated punching side to side
    2. Reclined marching
    3. Single toe taps
    4. Standing side crunch with one dumbbell

    Becky, this routine is beautifully choreographed to be fun to do! I love the six way arm exercise with an without weights. Your ab exercises feel great to do. I appreciate your ease with directions and encouragement. You are a great teacher. 😊

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I decided to make these Fit & Flexible videos public for everyone to see and use. After the pandemic, I created live Fit & Flexible sessions for a group and we met every Monday and Wednesday live at 8:00am Arizona time for 18 months. The videos were on my RUclips channel but they were unlisted and you needed the link in order to see them.
