My owl, Bobo, that I protected last year when he was born, has returned to the property in the past 3 weeks. He’s been being harassed by the crows mercilessly, so I’ve been protecting him again. I had a few face to face talks with him last Sunday throughout the day, as he knows I watch out for him, and he kept flying low and staying low on the tree branches to see me. My ex works for the power company, and started that new job right before she packed up and left me. Before she left, she asked if I ever wanted to live alone. I told her I did that for almost 12 years, but I realized that her being a teen mom, she had never had alone time in her life, and I knew then, I had to let her go, because she needed that experience in her life, where she answered to no one and made choices for herself, not people dependent on her. It was a painful pill to swallow, but I did, because I love her unconditionally. In our second year, she told me she had to be a mother to her son, and couldn’t be the person for me right then. I was hurt by that, I already knew it, but she threw it in my face so hard. I told her I wouldn’t marry her until her son finished high school. She doesn’t need to apologize for that, and I regret drawing that line in the sand. I love her son unconditionally now too. She tornadoed the relationship after 14 years, totally out of nowhere, and destroyed it all, except for my unconditional love for her and her son. I don’t hold any contempt for her, I just regret that I wasn’t enough for her. It’s painful to know love, and let it go for what that person wants and needs. I may be alone, I may be sad, but I cope and I hope. I know she’s with a high school karmic from 30 years ago now, and I just figured she’s happier without me, and with the better man. He called to see if I arrived home, told me I was rude 😮. Next day he invited me over, I went, I let my boundaries down, we went for tacos afterwards and had a great time. Now he has plans for the last couple of days with little communication. So today, while I was in the park doing my yoga, a couple, invited me to a barbecue and fireworks afterwards, they also invited a single gentleman.
