Hello 👋 my number one best friend Ryan its a pure delight to see that cosmo transform before my eyes 👀. I love every second of your videos they are the best 👌.
To see your dad and uncle give you the thumbs up must be a step towards approval from the gods. I think you continue to improve both with video and content, and skill levels are now climbing to new levels. Well done that man!
There's been so much Cosmo content recently I've been unable to stop smiling. This car is going to be awesome when finished. Dare i say better than new!
Your videos remind me of the Only Fools and Horses gag where he got an award for never replacing his broom, but then he says he has replace the brush and handle multiple times.
The time and effort you put in to these videos must be immense - I just hope the return you get from them is sufficient for you to continue as it would be so disappointing to loose such enjoyable, informative video's - good luck with your subscriptions, viewings and likes
I'm curious why you don't ever use a spot welder? I understand that it's not possible with most of the welding you are doing, but there are also parts where you could easily spot-weld rather than plug-weld
truly amazing work, I see you got the Nod from Uncle Richard, thats high praise indeed, he is a very skilled craftsman, one of those guys that stays in the background , and cracks on with the work to a high standard
It's such a pleasure to see you starting from a rusty nothing as a template building such complicate panels. Great job, I love it. Best regards from Germany
😮amazing work as always, Ryan 😊 your videos are getting better and better with all the commentary and informative information ,woven into unbelievable fabrication skills !! Out of this world ... cosmic Cosmo 😅 can't wait for the next video, mate 😊 cheers from Tim the Taffy living in the sunshine coast Australia
The Cosmo is an extremely elegant design but very intricately built too. I think carbodies built of so many individual parts are very rare... Seems like they built an ordinary car, and then wrapped it in another one to make it a Cosmo.
I love my rotaries, good to see something as rare as this being restored. In my youth I had a RX3, RX4 and powered my baja bug with a twin distributor 12a (because there were so many lying around, everyone wanted a 13B).
Next level craftsmanship! With all the time spent drilling and plug welding, any thoughts about getting a spot welder to help some of the panel bonding process along?
If it wasn´t this rare it would never be worth restoring! But than i cant enjoy your Clips sooo keep on DOING....you are the reason i startet to restor a Porsch 914. But from Miami importet sooo not that much rust
Great work restoring the Cosmo, and I have learned a lot from your videos but I hope you will stop using relief cuts to make curved lips on panels. It looks so bad and the bend radius is all over the place. Can your dad teach you how to do proper compound curves on sheet metal?
The bend radius is certainly not all over the place if you know how to use a hammer and anvil, as i showed. We are a how-to channel to show people different ways to do things (the easier DIY way and the pro way). Not everyone has a bead roller,, a stretcher, an English wheel so we show all techniques. Also you may notice that panel isnt complete yet. Relief cuts are a strong part of metal fab and also saves 100's hours panel beating. Saving money, showing DIY techniques and saving my wrists. Win win win situation it seems. Also I am 6 videos ahead on this build, so when I fab thay piece for the other side, you will see me doing it on the bead roller with tipping wheel. (This took twice as long may I add)
@ Fair enough, maybe its just me but I can’t stand seeing relief cut bends. Anyway, learned a lot from this channel and put to good use on my own project so no complaints there! Looking forward to seeing you doing the bead roller lip. I think for a special car like this time shouldn’t be an issue. Any time spend on it is time spend well 👍 Cheers!
I showed a few of these videos to an old friend, a retired time served coachbuilder, car and coach bodies, specials and racing cars , he watched them, and his comment, that young fella knows what he is doing, a grand job
By far, one of the best car restoration channels on RUclips 👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent content
Never thought that such disater could be restored...😊
This is like watching a slow motion magic show. Thank you.
@15:00 "Look at all of this space we have for activities!" I laughed really hard at Step Brothers reference, perfect use for it!
I suppose Mazda will want it for their collection when you finish. Your craftsmanship is second to only Steve
Cosmic Masterpiece!
Love it

That's a lot of splendiferousness.
Un travail vraiment extraordinaire vous êtes un magicien de la tôle BRAVO !🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!! The YCR dream team had their hands on that Cosmo!! You made massive strides forward, and we have to wait!! 😖❤
I like your fantastic Work - and the Manta A in the background.
Nice job, unique, old cars are like toys, that’s why I collect them

Think this is most impressive repair yet.
Magnificent

Proper job, Yorkshire style 👍
brilliant to watch. Ryan make panels out of sheet steel👍
Your work is fantastic it's mesmerising to watch ❤
Bravo! Nice 👏
Their is more steel in the Cosmo now than when it left the factory.
As usual, excellent work and great attention to detail! And by the way, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your employees as well!
Best car restoration channel on youtube.
Brilliant thanks 👍
Like a sculptor mate.
Is there anyone from Mazda watching this ? The Cosmo is a cute little thing - I never knew they even existed - great that YCR is preserving this one !
The Cosmo isn't the first car on my wish list, but it's my favorite rebuild to watch.
Long live the Cosmo !
Going to be interesting to see how the rusted out double curvature front wings are recreated?
Wait, do those vents have no other function and are simply a style choice to open up the inner fender to the elements?
I wonder how much of the cars original body is left after it gets done. So much metalwork on it. Great work sir! Love your craftsmanship and video.
Not much left haha. And thank you so much!
Theseus of car builds
Superb! Do the louvers serve any purpose other than cosmetic rust producers? False louvers might have been a better choice by the Cosmo’s design team.
The only thing I can say is "WOW!"
Beautiful work as always 👍🏻🇬🇧
Another great video packed full of interesting and informative footage - hats off to your amazing skills
Thank you Colin!
I like how the inner panel says 'Hi' 😅
Nice 😎😎😎👍👍👍

That panel is astonishing, Ryan. Up there with that complex chassis rail on Matt Armstrong’s BMW.
I almost bought one 7 years ago - I wish you were on the West Coast in the US so I could at least ride in it once. Sigh.
If those louvres let all the water in, would it be appropriate to form a box and weld it behind the louvres with a drain pipe to take tje water away?
As you said it lets water in but doesn’t let it out are you going to modify so water either can’t get in or make it so it lets water out
Coming on nicely that car, your a very skilled metal magician
truly amazing work, I see you got the Nod from Uncle Richard, thats high praise indeed, he is a very skilled craftsman, one of those guys that stays in the background , and cracks on with the work to a high standard
15:39 to 15:44 best part of this vid
Absolute craftsman! And Yorkshire too! Double win!

how many hours would you estimate a restoration of something like Schmee's car or the Cosmo would take?
I noticed you used Dinitrol 900 & 1000, whats the purpose and the difference between the two?

Great work, it's really starting to take shape again.
There are rumours going around that you have been working several straight 36 hour stints to get this car completed for a show?
Maybe 😅🤣
@@yorkshirecarrestoration Jesus Ryan 🙈
Oh buddy take care of yourself and get plenty of rest
Yes he said that on the live stream today

That's mine 😍
I wonder of the grills could have been redesigned to limit the amount of water going through them
I'm enjoying these videos so much. It is calming and satisfying, and I can't wait for the next one!
Great work Ryan. You're ploughing through it lad! Regards from Ireland

What ever happened to the Matt Armstrong BM? Been nothing on that for ages....
Amazing work. BUT...how much does it all cost ?
Impressive: it looked like an impossible mission, but it's starting to look feasible. What a fantastic looking car. Best wishes.
Great progress! You’ve been a big inspiration behind the restoration work I’ve been doing on my own channel this year.
Why dont you blank the back of the louvre off so they are still there but water can't get in?
Bro great work, but what happened to Mat's BMW
👏👌👍
Anyone else wanted to see him hand make those louvres ?
Don't tempt me
@@yorkshirecarrestoration aye a nice Flypress would be a good addition to the workshop, and perhaps a Lazer welder !!
Yeah, me. Probably notevn too😅
your doing a great job young en
if there is a known fix for a design fault, do you guys use the fix on the fault? when you do the restoration.
Fantastic job. Great cinema!
Quality work Ryan but please look after yourself, Joe

Awsomnes, majestically. 😂
It'd be relatively easy to 3d print a ducting that sits behind the vent/rain intake that diverts water directly out the bottom
Pro job done right there. Thanx guys !
Quite amazing, Ryan! ❤Greetings from South Africa! 😊
I couldn’t make Proper dust for the floor of that shop.
Beautiful work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤
like a glove that boss like a glove top job 👍

It’s a lot of work. But it’s going to look so great!
You should re name this to theseus. Theres basically nothing original left..
Another great video 👍 ... but 3. weeks wait 😭

I don’t know why you just don’t drive over to Mazda parts dept. and get replacement panels!? 🤦🏻♂️😜😂
probably can't be found/aren't manufactured anymore
@ sarcasm! You couldn’t get those panels if the world depended on it
