I feel like Vince Russo and Glenn Gilbertti are the only 2 people from the wrestling business that have any type of common sense about today's wrestling.
When i watched the ludicrous 6 man tag team match on NXT during the Superbowl....it was literally like if you had 6 gymnasts and told them to pretend like they were wrestling. It was just non-stop big move...kick-out (or save)....i was sitting there almost like, how am i even supposed to watch this??? There is clearly no effort in trying to make this look remotely like "real" combat. Zero. There was no suspension of disbelief. It was literally if you grabbed a couple of people off the street and watched them pretend to do "WWF wrestling". Only they were skilled and athletic. and now the loudest fans are the ones who just want everyone to know that they are "in on it". So they just show up and yell nonsense over the show. Its the strangest thing ever. Its so ass backwards and meta and bizarre. But it isn't wrestling anymore.
It's just like the fight scenes in action movies I know their fake but I can't buy into it with out strong storylines to draw us in. Wrestling had great characters and good storylines back in the day. Once audience buy into characters the rest write itself look at star wars avengers the matrix movies for examples. The fueds with the rock and stone Cold nation of domination vs DX heart foundation you name it.
