Oh wow! how the Motown artists were taken to the hearts of us Brits back then, no colour problem nonsense.... Priceless footage...... Love it to bits Tks xxxx
This video has to rank in my top ten that I have ever seen! Hearing the funk Brothers playing these classics with the artist they made famous is so incredible! Having these Legendary acts all assembled in a single outing is a Smithsonian Moment.
I do not think colour would add anything. I am not a fan of artificially modernising visuals. Black and white film makes you concentrate on the sound more.
Yeah whatever it would be better on color and remastered lol, you act like that would delete this or something... They remaster shit all the time that's not as good as this.
remember watching this on TV at the time and thinking these songs are great, later I got in to northern soul, Thanks to dusty, she was a real star, class act in every way !
Gordy wanted Diana Ross to be featured more prominently in this production but it was Dusty's friendship with and admiration for Martha that led to the Motown themed show to begin with. That's why you see the Dusty/Martha and The Vandellas duet and not one between Dusty and Diana.
It's clear that in other shows that I've seen that Dusty felt a better affinity singing with Martha and she wasn't parting from that. She helped put Motown on the map by promoting them on her shows so she pulled the strings!
I was 12years old in65. I would sing Dusty's songs as well as the Supremes. when music was at it's best. it has evolved today in all types of music and artists....but back in the day...it was so magical. I started to see all cultures come together to share great music Martha Reeves etc she was awesome. all great ladies of vocal perfection. truly represented....women are powerful and gifted.thankyou much.
This is phenomenal! I am watching the Temptations and everyone performing and singing on 2 microphonesThis is real talent, performance and professionalism. I was blessed to record with producers Norman Whitfield, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, Temptations and later with my own group Koko-Pop on Motown. I am just now seeing this.. Giving thanks to Dusty Springfield..
I watched this live in the UK in 1965 and was blown away with the music, later on in life I got in to "NORTHERN SOUL" tamla, stax, okeh, Gordy, jay-boy, Atlantic, cant explain how big soul got in the northern working class city's in the UK, just about every town had an all nighter" Wigan Casino being the No1 place to be, the night ending every morning at 8am with these 3 records "Time Will Pass You By" by Tobi Legend, "Long After Tonight Is All Over" by Jimmy Radcliffe, and "I'm on My Way" by Dean Parrish. Parrish is still active on the Northern soul circuit. Great time to be a twenty-something.
This production was so entirely great I think it should be added to our National Archives for the Arts (is there such a thing?). It should be resored in its' entirety and available for all to see. It was a time of change and all these people were young and vital and at their best. Most of them have since passed. I still can't believe Mary Wilson is no longer with us. I think I will save it and watch it every so often and tell my friends and family about it. Just fantastic.
Yes, ur so right, there is only a handful of Motown greats left. Interestingly enuff, Berry being thee oldest & owner & here he is still living, while all these wonderful talents who were younger than him have passed on, many long ago & the saddest thing is that the overwhelming majority died BROKE & left nothing for their families, smh. Karma seems to have overlooked him & Ross for all the hurt & pain they inflicted on so many undeserving people, smh.

Back again in 2024 , still loving this , what wonderful music 🎵, still want to dance all these years later ( 75 now). This makes you young and full of life again. Absolutely bloody brilliant. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎
Despite the massive number of amazingly talented performers, David Ruffin just shines out on top. No one was smoother or interpreted a song better than he did.
What a huge production and a fantastic live mix! The band sounds like the records. Such a solid pocket! Can't imagine why they choreographed the whole gig, but there is so much effort put into this show. Love how Dusty and Martha crack each other up. What a fun bit of history - and it was a pickup gig!
I attended the recording of this show. I was 17 at the time, and not really into Motown - I was a follower of the Stones, and the grittier type of R&B, but a friend of mine was a fan of soul, and he got a couple of tickets. I remember being particularly fascinated by Dusty, and the way in which she was very much in charge of the production. I was also intrigued by the TV studio setup. I have come to realise over the years just how lucky I was to be present at this one-off event.
Ken Barrett Wow, so obviously, you saw this in color with a 3-D like effect...lol...Did you remember pretty much of everything when you watched it on here?
I remember only parts of it. It was a long time ago! My main memory is of Dusty, and the enormous energy that was coming from the studio floor. I am somewhere in the audience back row, on the tiered seating, so I had a good vantage point.
Dusty was a great singer and so likable. I'm glad she had these American women on the show who were so big in America. While the Brits sent us great bands, America clearly has the most great women singers, many of them black women who came out of gospel churches...men too. So many Motown hit songs where churned out. It makes me proud of our music industry from the early days. Then also, the British rock bands grokked onto our blues singers even before many Americans did, and then rock people like Jimi Hendrix who brought to England by the Animals' Chas Chandler before he had his breakout in America in 1967. Great video! Thanks.
Great footage. The backstory to this taping is very interesting.....The Motown revue was not very successful in their England/Europe tour. At the last of the tour, Dusty Springfield said that she would bring the review on her show and she would host it. The rest is histor!
This is NOT a Dusty Springfield show, It's a special edition of the weekly UK pop TV show Ready Steady Go! broadcast on Friday early evenings between 1963-1966. This special was taped AFTER the Motown Tour of the UK had ended. It was badly timed- had Gordy arranged for the show to be taped and broadcast BEFORE the tour started then it would've been terrific promotion. As it turned out the tour played to half full houses at most venues as the Motown artists were still relatively unknown in the UK apart from the Supremes.
love Dusty too, but to say she was the best is subjective... She was my fave but who can really say the greatest ? In her day Vera Lynn was the " greatest "... etc..
Mesdames et Messieurs, this is a magical moment in music history. Probably never to be repeated ever again. Cherish this one forever. I only hope someone can digitally remaster this one. Thanks to all the performers for their contribution, all of you were great.
Mesmerizing performances all around. What's great is hearing the Earl Van Dyke Sextet doing the instrumental backing, giving the music even more authenticity. Being from Detroit I Love Motown Music. ♫♥♫ Huge Dusty fan, too, of course. Thank you Dusty for being one of the first to promote the Sound of Young America in England.
This is so nostalgic. It's just fabulous. Takes me back to high school and the music I so enjoyed. Big praise to Dusty for bringing this together with her wonderful love Motown. Smokey - Martha and all the rest. Dusty bless your heart. I miss you.
I went to YT yesterday just to hear 1 Dusty song and I fell into the well. I'm in awe. I hope that people understand what a pioneer to entertainment and music she was. Also, musically-- a savant. Not to mention the god given pipes.
Went to see Motown musical this weekend at the Pantages in Hollywood and I just cannot get enough of this great music. I remember my brothers listening to these great American legends. I was just a kid but now in my 50's they bring back great memories. We were first generation Mexican American and we loved all these groups. Probably helped me with my English too!!! Human Nature in Vegas does a great tribute to this era as well. We have truly been blessed to have Berry Gordy, Smokey, Stevie, Marvin, Diana, Martha, and all of these Motown legends.
Wow 😳 I remember this when it was on a Friday night . Absolutely brilliant. Then out for the weekend dancing at an alnighter. Great music great days. 😎
5.45 Diana and the Supremes 'stop...' close your eyes and take in this incredible version. It has all the LIVE vocals' rawness and freshness expected from an epic act and song such as this. A vocal weave and harmonies and music backing that is simply unmatched pop Americana.
Such an amazing concert. Martha, Smokey, Diana, Dusty, Stevie oops and Marvin Gaye... the man who have us possibly the best album of all time, what's goin on
There was once upon a time that the Supremes I don't believe that anybody remembers but there were four members of The Supremes I believe her name was Barbara
@@wymell9724Originally there were four girls signed as the Supremes ,but there was only three in the line up by the time they got a hit record . They were known as the no hit Supremes, as their earlier recordings flopped .
I was in the military in Germany in 1965, but managed to secure a pass to get to the UK to check a couple of the Motown Review concerts out. Apparently, the shows hadn't been selling out until Dusty Springfield got involved. It was the first time I had seen a revolving stage. Unlike today when they have to waste time between acts, there were three acts on a split stage, and when one finished, the stage rotated, and the other act would get going.
Martha, Roz, and Betty with Dusty....PERFECTION!!! (ON A SIDE NOTE...that wig that Roz has on is SO 60's!!! I LOVE IT!!!) I LOVE Dusty's soulfulness!!! Pure grit!!! And I can't take my eyes off of Florence!!!!! With her "Ronnie and the Ronnettes" wig. So cute!!
I'm ready Jon Savages book "1966" right now, reading about when Motown/Tamla invaded London. And here it is on RUclips, preserved and displayed for all of us to witness. Thank you for sharing this treasure; you've made this old man's day. Peace and love I bring to you, as you have to us...
It invaded before 1966. At least amongst the mods. Though originally Motown records were distributed under another label. The first Supremes number one which had Tamla Motown on the label was Stop In The Name Of Love. The Earl Van Dyke backing group were amazed to find that young, white British mods knew who they were as did British bands as in the USA they were unknown, only the stars were known.
Belated thanks to Dusty for this fine (in person) introduction of Motown to England. GREAT to look back on all these years later. Love that bug-eyed Diana Ross.
What pure delight, 100% entertainment. The sad part is the ending of so many of their lives. With all that talent, that apparently was not the high that was needed. Not all of them, but some. We will never see this ever again in history.
Rest In Heaven to all The Legends in this Spectacular Show that are not with us anymore... SO MISSED... Ronnie White, Pete Moore, Bobby Rogers,, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin,, The SUPREME Supremes,, Ms. Florence Ballard,, "Lady Supreme" Mary Wilson,, & of course, Dusty Springfied..
As they say... If Motown won't come to you... What's a British Caucasian girl to do? You go to them and join in! Love Love Dusty! Also let's hear it for those fantastic Funk Brothers! Sure the singers were bad a**. But the real magic of Motown was putting that special blend of Funk Brothers sauce and sass to those classic songs! It's a true magic that can never be duplicated today electronically. The blend of those fantastic musicians had true soul and feelings. A sound which makes their songs relatable, danceable and timeless. Which can still be felt even today! The only other sound that comes close to being a music match to Motown (in my opinion & heart) the wonderful, soulfull The Philly Sound! To me it's a true bleed over or carry over style of Motown with their own special blend of great magic added to their music mix! Nothing like spinnin and listening to their soul classics! *** (while watching the video in 2022) Let's go Supremes! "Baby Baby!" Oh Yeah!!! I still got a few Baby Babies in the ole hair brush left! LOL😘
Gawd, this was so AWESOME! Love that audience getting into it. "My Girl" so great. Martha Reeves a soul powerhouse. Diana Ross with her 'STAR QUALITY' is so happening. SMOKEY So Smooth. Little Stevie Wonder. Handsome Marvin. Great idea Dusty had to do a special on the Motown Artists. She loved them for good reason, all so great.
Massive talent in those days. And the ladies were glamorous too :). Many thanks for uploading this classic, I was too young to see it the first time around.
Enjoyed every second of the show even though the film left out some of Dusty's intro's, close-up's... I luvv her wit in introducing the Supremes... they may charted even in Outer Mongolia! I especially love her I Can't Hear You No More backed by the Motown musicians and Martha and the Vandellas. It's perfect! I am now a fan of the M and the Vs. Darren, thank you for posting!!! P.S. Awesome to know here that Mr Ken Barret was there in the taping of the show as a 17 year-old. And, and, Dusty really was a master in covering the Motown songs. She did Shake really quite well in the NME concert.
It goes without saying that America wouldnt be America withiut Motown and being from the Detroit area, it really gives me a sense of pride to be from Michigan and to see them all performing in England. I also now have an even greater appreciation for Dusty Springfield. She was awesome !
When I watched this on TV as a 7 y.o. kid I found out that the songs I loved on the radio were by black artists and on a label called Tamla Motown. Was a fan then & still am in 2021.
As a teen watching this back in '07, I didn't realize Martha could blow quite like that: 2:23. And Dusty completely turnt up the block with that "I Can't Hear You No More." One of my favorites. SOUL! Edit: I forgot to say that Betty Kelly sure does come off in all these clips like she was just excited to be along for the ride. Just alright to be there. Not too much or too little. Just happy to be there.
This is jus great. Thanks. Those dancers worked hard...hope they were on double time! Bet their feet were sore at the end. Expect Dusty had to lie down for a week, in a dark room, after singing so many songs. She was....as always...excellent and brought Motown to the UK.🥂
Maybe in America, The Supremes were considered “hot stuff”, but , over in England, Martha and The Vandellas were held in much higher regard…due to their stronger, more “soulful” records. This explains why Dusty featured Martha, Betty, and Roz much more during this special, including them in her set..as well as their own.
@willcat - The fact that Dusty was gay and fancied Martha had a lot to do with it. Dusty did her best to persuade execs that a Motown show without Martha and the Vandellas wouldn’t fly, and Dusty won.
Dusty Springfield often referred to as "White Queen Of Soul" and watching this great special brings in to focus why, goes back to these early beginnings, remember hearing Dusty responsible for introducing Motown Sound to England and now here is the proof. Wonderful mix of mid-sixties Motown with Dusty amazing in duets with some of the acts, historic jam sadly was not on TV in America, a lost opportunity but now available for music lovers to savor and enjoy!
We didn't get any of the great British TV shows such as Ready Steady Go! but we had plenty of our own shows. Another British TV music show I wish we got was the Old Grey Whistle Test - fantastic performances on that show and tons of American acts. And they filmed the shows at around 8:00 am which is kind of funny for rock stars. Germany's Bet Club was excellent too. Thanks for You Tube and those who upload these videos so we can see them now.
some great footage. More proof of David Ruffin's amazing talent. David did all the high falsetto work when Eddie was singing lead. A true giant, 2nd only to Sam Cooke, who was obviously his biggest influence (along with many other 60s soul singers).
Apparantly, Florence and Mary were then stil allowed to stand next to the Prima Donna. But that's een minor detail. Never heard them sing Shake, and they do it really in a awesome way. Martha Reeves! The Temptations!! Dusty doing a great job. The magnificent Smokey. The awasome David Ruffin. The whole atmospere, almost too much. I believe in mankind again after seeing this! Thanks a lot for posting, and good luck and best wishes to all soul lovers of this world! Have fun, enjoy it to the dephts of your heart, this kinda music will never, never die. PS my remark about the Supremes was meant to be ironically. I belief Diana is a star of world class.
That's right. Starting with their fifth #1 song Back in My Arms Again Diana started insisting that Flo and Mary stand at least five feet behind her. (See Hullabaloo performance) At that time she also started asking for her own hand mike so she could walk around stage during her performance.
I just came across this video waking up in my nursing home. I was like 12-13when I discovered Motown I immediately knew it was in England because of the mixture of black and white background dancers. Never would have happened in the States! Black men dancing with white women! Scandalous! England was so much cooler. Yeah. Great show. So we'll presented.TAMLA!
Smokey and the Miracles singing one of my all-time favorite ballads Ooh baby, baby. Woo! Wish I could have been there to see them. Little too much of the Supremes, though.
Just love how happy and carefree Dusty looked when she sang with artistes like this. Great to see. She was wonderful. Best British female vocalist ever.
DS was one of the first British singers to get Motown/soul music. she was a good crooner herself, I watched this on TV and thought Detroit must be a great place, soul music, American cars, Coca-Cola, hamburgers, seemed like heaven to me in 1965.
I saw those "TEMPS"at the Apollo back in 67 and I still get chills when I think about it however it also spoils my ability to like anything current because it doesnt rate.I also saw Jackie Wilson ,at the Brooklyn Fox and GOD !!!!! I wish someone had of recorded a show with the classic Temps......a whole show ,not just performances, I would watch it everyday.
I understand that Dusty and Martha Reeves were very close, that Martha wanted Dusty to be part of the Vandellas. Only in England would they have "Earl Van Dyke" in large letters by the Motown sign in the back! They appreciated the musicians.
Before Amy Winehouse, Adele, Joss Stone there was Dusty Springfield who is the original British soul singer. RIP Ms Springfield!🙏🏼❤️
60's music will never die, our great grandkids will still be listening and dancing to it. My grandson plays in a band and they just love Motown, Beatles or the Stones. Any one got any RSG put it on here.
Thank you Dusty for helping to show Motown on British tv RIP.

We had Shindig and Hullabaloo, but RSG is just super. All that great talent. Glad to be a teenager. in the 60s
Dusty was the greatest female singer to come out of Britain.......she's perfect with Motown.
Petula Clark had more hits so its gotta be close I reckon.
Dusty was the original "Blue Eyed Soul Sister".
I loved Little Lulu, She was my favorite English Female Singer of the Times.
@@darnellking3391 Apart from being Scottish not English! Also, Dusty was the best, as June said above.
@@waynebuckland7879She certainly didn't. Petula had a few, but Dusty had over 20.
Dusty had a lot of rhythm and soul she was magnificent
Oh wow! how the Motown artists were taken to the hearts of us Brits back then, no colour problem nonsense.... Priceless footage...... Love it to bits Tks xxxx
RIP Dusty Springfield, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, Florence Ballard, Bobby Rogers & Ronnie White
Jason Voorhees you’ve forgotten quite a few!!
RedLightSpellsDanger I was talking about people that was in this video
Jason Voorhees ah ok! I was lucky enough to see Dennis Edwards in Oldham as part of David Gest’s tour....
Miracle Pete Moore is gone , too. (1938-2017)
And now Mary Wilson.

I do not think colour would add anything. I am not a fan of artificially modernising visuals. Black and white film makes you concentrate on the sound more.
NO WAY color leave alone the black and white footage it takes you back to a great era for music.
Yeah whatever it would be better on color and remastered lol, you act like that would delete this or something... They remaster shit all the time that's not as good as this.
I wouldn’t mind it being in HD, but I’m not sure about it being in color
B&W ok.
Hit after hit after hit! Wow! Motown was an unstoppable machine!!! A fantastic showcase!!! 😘
Aminah Shabazz oh a Motown fan, Sister Aminah!?
It was a auto assembly line
Especially when the Beatles was huge at this time
I can't get enough of the Temptations. Temptations forever!

Good MOTOWN was not DIANA ROSS’ s MOTOWN thank God
Most Americans thought that Dusty was a Negro singer until they saw her photo. She had natural soul.

The Funk Brothers are backing the Motown Acts with the legendary James Jamerson on bass.
That is Tony Newton on bass Jamerson understudy
Before Adele & Amy Whinehouse there was Dusty Springfield
👍OF COURSE
Alison Moyet, Sade, Lisa Stansfield to name a few.
Yes, love Dusty Springfield's 1969 mega hit, "Son Of A Preacher Man!"😍
Smokey sounds amazing, so commanding and still going strong all these years later!
Dusty was really a great singer. Sadly missed.
Al igual que los grupos de Rock Americanos que le contestaron a la Invasion Britanica El Soul se dio a respetar en grande con posiciones numero uno
I went to YT yesterday just to hear 1 Dusty song and I fell into the well.
I'm in awe. I hope that people understand what a pioneer to entertainment and music she was. Also, musically-- a savant. Not to mention the god given pipes.
You fell into a well?
Yes we do indeed.
I was there too, just awesome. so much good music!!!
Wow 😳 I remember this when it was on a Friday night . Absolutely brilliant. Then out for the weekend dancing at an alnighter. Great music great days. 😎
They were all fantastic singers. Loved the temptations and Dusty was great singer.
No four tops????
5.45 Diana and the Supremes
'stop...' close your eyes and take in this incredible version. It has all the LIVE vocals' rawness and freshness expected from an epic act and song such as this. A vocal weave and harmonies and music backing that is simply unmatched pop Americana.
Perfectly stated👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You put it perfectly! Loved it!♥️
Jim, you forgot about Pete Moore of the miracles
Such an amazing concert. Martha, Smokey, Diana, Dusty, Stevie oops and Marvin Gaye... the man who have us possibly the best album of all time, what's goin on
There was once upon a time that the Supremes I don't believe that anybody remembers but there were four members of The Supremes I believe her name was Barbara
I Love The Supremes Motown I'm from Detroit but there are so many artists so I have to tip my hat to all of them
@@wymell9724Originally there were four girls signed as the Supremes ,but there was only three in the line up by the time they got a hit record .
So cute!!
Between the Supremes & the Temptations some of the best choreography for groups of that day. And, well not see it again!!
Just 'discovered' this 'timeless' treasure: superb and awesome footage: those were the days!!!
Look at all the talent right there in that one little spot!
This version of Dusty Springfield's song, with Martha Reeves! Sounds better than than it does by herself as a solo!
The only other sound that comes close to being a music match to Motown (in my opinion & heart)
the wonderful, soulfull The Philly Sound! To me it's a true bleed over or carry over style of Motown with their own special blend of great magic added to their music mix! Nothing like spinnin and listening to their soul classics!
*** (while watching the video in 2022)
Let's go Supremes!
"Baby Baby!"
Oh Yeah!!! I still got a few Baby Babies in the ole hair brush left! LOL😘
Dusty was an angel: great voice.
How precious and priceless that experience must have been!
Simply amazing !
Congratulations on your beautiful journey.
Massive talent in those days. And the ladies were glamorous too :). Many thanks for uploading this classic, I was too young to see it the first time around.
AND I MUST ADD HOW TERIFIC YOU HAVE THE ACTUAL AND ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK HOW THANKFUL I AM TO HEAR THIS!!!
My era the 60's! Love these artists! I have all of the vinyl record albums in my collection. Love the Motown music! ❤️❤️❤️
Really really enjoyed this❤ they all look so young Smokey Robinson looks about 14 🌟
The MIRACLES were, are, and will ALWAYS BE, my FAVORITE GROUP !! And, they stole THIS show right enough !!!
Just love Dusty..her sheer enjoyment performing in this show...the joy..simply the best..no one comes close!
Don't forget the Motor City!
I love this. I remember going to to see most of those groups live with my cousins who was older then I.
When I watched this on TV as a 7 y.o. kid I found out that the songs I loved on the radio were by black artists and on a label called Tamla Motown.
Was a fan then & still am in 2021.
Black no! Dont encourage sht like that.
Samolia. Simbobway black, F in kindergarten for advanced crayon class. Enough of the skin tone speak .
Quality performances. No autotune. And style for days!!! Enjoying this on a quiet Sunday, thank you!!
These singers all has such great voices. I enjoyed this show.
Im not sure anyone in America who knee music- doesn’t or didn’t realize-,Martha was 💯❤️
Dusty Springfield often referred to as "White Queen Of Soul" and watching this great special brings in to focus why, goes back to these early beginnings, remember hearing Dusty responsible for introducing Motown Sound to England and now here is the proof.
HELL NO🤢🤢🤢🤢
@@MoorenaEl????
Dusty has a hella soulful voice.
Thank you I have no words from Australia
some great footage. More proof of David Ruffin's amazing talent. David did all the high falsetto work when Eddie was singing lead. A true giant, 2nd only to Sam Cooke, who was obviously his biggest influence (along with many other 60s soul singers).
I didnt know this Thx for the info
Love David.
David in a class by his self. fantastic performer
This show captures Motown in all its' musical brilliance perfectly.
I want to live inside this video.
Me too...
Me 3 LOL !!! 🤣🤣🤣
Muziekgenot Florence Ballard Is Beautiful love her
Its on their We Remember Sam Cooke album,A great Version
That's right. Starting with their fifth #1 song Back in My Arms Again Diana started insisting that Flo and Mary stand at least five feet behind her. (See Hullabaloo performance) At that time she also started asking for her own hand mike so she could walk around stage during her performance.
I don't care for her. I loved the other two ladies better. R.I.P. FLORENCE
Yeah say what you all about Diana SHE GOT THE LAST LAUGH..SHE GOT YOU HATERS...EATING HER DUST...LOL
I just came across this video waking up in my nursing home. I was like 12-13when I discovered Motown
I immediately knew it was in England because of the mixture of black and white background dancers. Never would have happened in the States! Black men dancing with white women! Scandalous! England was so much cooler. Yeah. Great show. So we'll presented.TAMLA!
You got a point
Smokey and the Miracles singing one of my all-time favorite ballads Ooh baby, baby. Woo! Wish I could have been there to see them. Little too much of the Supremes, though.
Just love how happy and carefree Dusty looked when she sang with artistes like this. Great to see. She was wonderful. Best British female vocalist ever.
New Year’s Eve 2022, and this is better than any of the New Year’s Eve Shows on TV tonight! I loved this video❤️
DS was one of the first British singers to get Motown/soul music. she was a good crooner herself, I watched this on TV and thought Detroit must be a great place, soul music, American cars, Coca-Cola, hamburgers, seemed like heaven to me in 1965.
When Motown was taking over the POP CHARTS!!
Wow - the opening number. And Dusty is SO happy
Smoky is fineeeeeeeeeeeee. Nobody can sing oh baby baby like him and mean it.
Hes fine also a gifted poet and songwriter in his day for sure
39:37 I love the way Dusty Springfield introduced The Temptations " It's Growing" and love the choreography too. ❤️❤️❤️
The talent!!!!! And all those talents!
Absolutely brilliant. Imagine actually being there watching this at the time 😮
I understand that Dusty and Martha Reeves were very close, that Martha wanted Dusty to be part of the Vandellas. Only in England would they have "Earl Van Dyke" in large letters by the Motown sign in the back! They appreciated the musicians.
Diana is miked louder than all the other singers except Smokey. Gordy's plan to elevate her was already in motion.
By this point the Supremes were on their 4th US No1- 3 more than any other Motown artist.
Classic! What a great find.
