Those are called Chicago Screws. I don’t know where you are so can’t really recommend anyone, but that kind of book is pretty easy to make; I bet you could figure it out yourself if you need to. Look up bookbinders in your area though.
Hi Michelle, thanks for your comment. If you have a regular book block that’s bound with glue or sewn to tapes (or both), you would glue endpapers to the inside covers and first/last page of the book, and these hold everything in place. You just need to make the spine wide enough to accommodate the depth of your book block.
This is an excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you for this, it was very helpful!
So helpful! Thank you
Great job!
Thanks Shirley. :)
Thank you for this video! Really helpful!
May I ask what is the thickness of the board you used? Thank you!
Thanks Aisha! The board I used is about 3mm thick.
Tysm!
Fkng love it!!
Hi , Great clear tutorial. What is the type of fabric you are using on the larger (black) book?
Thanks for watching! The larger cover is just a regular type of bookbinding cloth; probably either Chelsea cloth or bookbinding buckram.
Thank You.
The red piece you put on the inside of the hardcover spine, was it paper or book cloth?
Thanks!
Hi Jerome, thanks so much for this! Your comment came in while I was away so I didn't see it until now, but I really appreciate it. Thank you!
looking for someone who can create a custom hard bind book cover which does not use glue but screw fasteners. Know anyone?
